It’s prettier than I thought it would be. Thanks so much for the informative video. I’ve heard good reviews of the JW hotel next door. The garden walk might have been doomed being off the beaten path (it’s so tucked away) what with Disney not wanting to share revenue with out of the bubble ventures. Their (Disney’s) east side parking center was also doomed, so there’s that. The harbor Blvd proprietors knocked that project off the rails. Anyway, thanks again. You have a nice voice and good production.
Fun Fact: There are bronze statues in the center of the mall of Kate and Ella Rea, whose father owned the land when it was a farm and named the street "Katella Avenue" in their honor.
Not even the Disney vloggers, starving for content, have payed much attention to this place. Nice explore RR. Great back-story. Thank you for all you do!👍🏼🤘🏼😎
The reason why the GardenWalk has been struggling was because it open at possibly the worst time in recent memory as this open during the recession in 2008, so it never really was filled or had any popularity especially since Downtown Disney is not that far away and a lot of people who wanted to go shopping went to the other major malls down the freeway from the GardenWalk. I'm a native of the area and I've been there many times with my friends from high school just to go to the movie theater which is now a House of Blues which used to be at Downtown Disney. Even back in 2013-2014 when I used to go it was pretty dead back then too. The businesses towards the street we're usually the most busiest but once you go more into the mall towards the back which is now the House of Blues and I think Johnny Rockets, mostly the center part of the mall was/is pretty dead and on top of that, there used to be a big empty lot next door which didn't help things which was supposed to be an Phase II addition or an apartment complex I forgot which one but it's just made it look abandoned from the get go even though it was not even a decade old at the time. But I had some good memories there with my friends specially sneaking in from one movie to go see the remake of Carrie back in 2014
Looks like both the amc and the house of blues jumped ship from downtown Disney. Rent too high? Thanks for your nice memories from a locals point of view. ;)
I used to work in the garden walk mall... it was as empty as you see this video. All they have going for it is house of blues and the club over the weekends but now with covid I bet you it’s worse than when I used to be there. Literally the entire second floor is mostly empty it’s sad
Reasons this mall doesn’t work: Pay for parking Cant see any of the stores from the street Tacky decorations Weird events (they had a boxing match in the courtyard at one point it was weird) A lot of those stores that look like is being put in have been in that state since 2019
This mall is always dead. It doesn't help they charge for parking and not much there. Also this is not owned by Disney they have nothing to do with it.
I used to work at the Ultraluxe that was here! What a strange time. I only worked there for a month or so because the theatre permanently closed soon after I was hired lol
Malls are a dying theme nowadays, we have loads of them one just as boring as the next with offices and colleges taking over abd that is why they still survive as the workers need to eat and do some shopping before going home. We have vaalmall in my hometown and third of it is like resturants another third chlothing another third is like foodstores and then just random assed filler stores.
was there last week as I stayed close by - nothing going on during the day, so I figured, well, maybe it's just kinda a night thing with all these restaurants and such. Went back at night (9 PM). Walked the whole place, saw no more than a dozen people other than in the bowling place. Extremely strange vibe. I don't understand how these places can stay in business unless they have some free rent situation going on.
My Son And I Have Been To The Anaheim GardenWalk, And We Have Driven Between The Chino Valley Freeway (71) And The Anaheim GardenWalk

what's so unfortunate is the fact that this place is beautiful
2:18 Says Disneyland, shows Disney World
Editor did really bad job there
What a nice place! Too bad no one would buy this place and fix it up! What a shame.
This mall is always dead🥲 and I work here as well🥲
This is literally underrated in Anaheim, in Minecraft, not a lot of builds of this gardenwalk

The movie theater is still there house of blues is right next to it

I love this place, but yeah not too many ppl hangout here
To be fair you did visit on a rainy day.
I remember going to fire and ice for my mom's birthday. Great times
Went there just last week on a Saturday for a Spooksieboo event and it was very much alive.
what a shame. looks like a great place to hang out, so much to do and see
I've been there, its dead because of the pandemic

They practically BEGGED Disney to buy this recently and Disney refused straight out
Great video, going to be a bunch more abandoned disney stores due to covid.
They should have free parking yo

Damn I’m only 5 mins into this video and this mall sounds like it is having a lot of bad luck. 😂
bro saturday nights here is awesome lots of car meets and games
garden walk is awful i got stuck in an elevator for an hour and no one came
Garden walk has nothing to do with Disney
2:18 is not Disneyland
It’s Cinderella Castle in Florida
Hate the surrounding area. Try not to go to that part of town because of all traffic.
What happened to The Cheesecake Factory
Still there and open
@@1974dormouse nice
Wrong information. Disney has nothing to do with this mall
