Incredibly helpful, thank you! I have had a bear of a time finding affordable cage closures that are secure enough to keep the predators out around my place while also letting anyone who watches the rabbits while I'm gone get into the cage to feed and water. My quail are noted escape artists and often do not survive the experience.

Hostile Hare That'd be cool for sure Nick! And I would still like to do a video with you guys too( if you're up for it:)... maybe a vid on your rabbit classes or cages you sell, or maybe how to set up a fodder system, etc,...? I wasn't sure if you guys were still interested or not but I'm still game:)
Just let me know when you might be up for something. I'm pretty packed for the next month or so but maybe we could plan for something after that?

I'm new to rabbits but why don't any of you guys show the clip on the cage preferably at the beginning of the video?

@@HostileHare hey, do you have anything on bug control, I looked didn't see any, I'm new to Florida and rabbits but it's hot and humid all year, bugs are rampant. I like my animals comfortable, least I can do considering what they do for me. Thx

@@michaelstallone4197 you want a lot of ventilation for one, get stagnant air out away from your rabbits. Maybe throw some fans on them if they're outside. That keeps it from being comfortable for flies to land on them. You may want to look into black soldier fly larvae composting, they produce a pheromone that wards off the common housefly because the larva of the black soldier fly eats the cocoons and eggs of other flies. Apart from that, make friends with the spiders, embrace the arachnids that move in to the rabbitry

@@HostileHare so no poison on the ground, their all wire cages are supported 3 Feet up, it was 85 deg for Xmas so bugs don't get thinned out in the winter. I'm actually considering moving them to the garage, I think the heat might be too much out side, I can ac the garage and thin out the bugs, we're headed to pa after the summer, can't wait. Thx for your help

Just wanted to add a quick comment for those of us with smaller animals, these can be made with a good quality paper clip in a smaller version for use on hardwarecloth based cages for rats mice etc. just scale it down a bit for the cage/door size. :)

That is exactly the information I have been trying to find on TH-cam! Great idea but I would like to know where to get your supply of wires? Thanks 🙏

You can use survey flags sold at hardware stores, this wire I got in 6 foot lengths from home depot. I think it was ment to be used for insulation retention

Soak those old rusty pliers in some vinegar (full strength) or hydrated acetic acid crystals. Leave them in the liquid for a day or two. Scrub any stubborn rust spots with an old toothbrush, or something similar. Rinse, dry, apply a thin coat of oil and those ole’ rusty pliers will be good as new. Voila!
