Robin Campfens I agree the rapid rail has many flaws, it can't lift over 300lbs, the chain and bearings wear out far too soon, and the drive gear is prone to shear the drive shaft key, I think the height is also more of a problem with wires and tree limbs, BUT it is better in narrow tight spots like alleys when compared to the arm lift style trucks
I am also a city worker (but I'm a trash sanitation worker for WM) and I work on am prep's, their is a setting on our vehicle's most of the time that you can change the setting of the motor to make it go down, their is also a system to make the can to not LID Flip. LA Sanation broke my grandmas bins, they do it so ruffly and for people who are old its hard for them to pick the can up it would been easy if you settle down the bin but don't tip it over. At WM my (boss) tells us to pick up the cans if it falls on to the ground.
I drive an asl truck and if boxes aren't broken down the auto grip locks it in and only loose recycling falls out when bringing the can back down. it's annoying
this model of garbage body..called an Amrep..is very violent with carts...known to snap lids like toothpicks lol...also the driver must have been new to his job or not used to such a violent truck
