I spent a week there back in the middle of August 1998 on that same beach with that same restaurant! I'm glad that the government didn't let that particular beach get over developed! It looks axactly the same as it did whwn I visited it in 1998. Just a little drier due to the season. Lots of fish, healthy reefs; corals. Great seafood a little less expensive than the big tourist areas and definitely more laid back. This is my favorite beach destination in Mexico!

I discovered Huatulco in 2007 when I was researching areas in the south for destination weddings but at that time the area was relatively new for tourism and there were conflicting reports that it wasn’t all that safe. This is a very nice video. The hidden gems you found in Huatulco are fabulous. This video brought together all of your skills as a seasoned travelling, compatible, mello couple. Your videos taught me to look for bays and coves wherein the open ocean is not battering the coast making it dangerous and unswimmable. As I mentioned in an earlier comment, your drone footage makes all the difference in the world in these videos. It's not just footage... The drone footage you include in your videos succinctly tells the story and shows the area. Other people who use drone tend to over do it. Your videos are the cream of the crop. Travel on!

Very safe, clean the food is amazing and a great variety, I have many times been to beaches where I am the only one. A short drive and you are in the amazing coffee town of Pluma Hidalgo where you can try and purchase some amazing organic coffee, or a drive up to several waterfalls and or natural hot springs with amazing views. I think the Riviera side is more popular because it’s catered mostly for international tourists and thus you see more attractions, cenotes and the blue water beaches. The Oaxaca area is more of local vibes and yes as you can see, it’s laid back and thus it’s cheaper ‘cause prices are not jacked up. That’s why you can see more locals than other tourists going there. I like the atmosphere, it’s quiet and for you guys who are staying longer, it’s perfect. I wonder at this time in your Mexico travel, which one is your favorite that you enjoyed most? Will you come back and stay longer based on beach area, water activities, accommodation, food and restaurant accessibility?

So nice to not be inundated with fellow American and other foreign tourists and over development as most of Mexican resorts have. The Caribbean side has so much seaweed for months on end now as well as being expensive.I prefer the Pacific Coast except for Puerta Vallarta, which I used to love, but has now become over developed.I look forward to spending more time there.Ixtapa and Zihuateneo are great too.

My biggest issue is the travel time from Philadelphia.11hrs with layovers. Riv Maya is direct flight and so close. But I've watched a ton of videos on this spot and definitely want to check it out.

We are loving Huatulco. Been here a week, 6 beaches down 30 more to explore ! Way better for snorkelling and swimming than PE, Mazunte or Zipolite.

Hi Cris and Carol 🙏 I’m really enjoying your videos of Mexico. I used to travel to Mexico but the places where you’ve been going I’ve never been. I haven’t comment in a while but I have one request or suggestion, is it possible that you show on the map where you are going? Enjoy and safe travels 🙏

Greetings from Waco, TX (LOL)! I don't know if I missed it in one of the videos, but how did you guys get to Oaxaca and then to the coast? Flight, bus, combination? Did you go through Mexico City? Thanks for all the info and great videos...always an inspiration...loving them!

Standing on the beach at Santa Cruz looking out just to the left of the end of the pier I spotted a seahorse about 3 weeks ago.......a diver who had worked there for 14 years said he had only seen one 4 times.....Loved Entraga the best for snorkeling..

Can I ask how is the humidity compared to the riviera maya. I just left Playa Del Carmen after 6 I’m the because the humidity got so bad. I have a hotel booked in February in Zipolite and places with ac are double in price so I’m not sure if it necessary and would appreciate your thought. I love both of your mow key friendly personalities and really enjoy your kind chemistry that make your videos a lot easier to watch that some of the other travel vlogs!
