I love your editing style!! It's so dynamic and fun and light. And I love your use of the different camera set ups mixed in with handheld and the talking heads. Welcome back to TH-cam!!! I will forever be grateful that I learned how to sew from you 🥹
Thank you, Chimdi! And thanks so much for encouraging me to have fun with my videos. 🤗 I can't wait to sew together again!
@@workroomsocial 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This is so great and I'm so glad you got to use the IKEA fabric after all! I also recently noticed IKEA doesn't sell fabric anymore and am sad about that as well!
It's a bummer! I wonder if they still sell sewing machines...
I see this video was posted a year ago so I am wondering how your pressing mat has held up. Does it smell musty or moldy? I'm asking that question because after watching several DIY videos on how to make a portable pressing mat, most say you need a reflective layer so the wood doesn't get moldy from the steam. I know wool is supposed to be a better pressing pad but I also know it holds the moisture in as well. Love the simplicity of your mat. Thank you for sharing your video!
My pressing board has held up great! I have several of these, some that are 10+ years old. I haven’t had any problems with smell or mold.
This is such a good idea!! Now you have me thinking of what shapes would work well in my space for multi functional purposes 🧐
Yay! And I know you have a very organized home, which makes this an especially great project for you because you can really customize your ironing board to fit your specific needs.
Great persistence to get a good outcome.
Talk to me about the "stand" your board sits on. I'm curious about your setup. Thanks!
I use 2 saw horses, but you can put this style of ironing board on any table top. Here are the saw horses I have: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/mittback-trestle-birch-30459997/
I too am a "presser", and can't believe that I've never considered a small ironing board placed right next to my sewing machine! What brand/model of iron do you use? It seemed like it produce a good amount of steam. Lastly, I love that IKEA fabric and it's a shame that they aren't selling fabric any longer.
Congratulations
Thank you! I've been thinking on making a small ironing board and this is super useful. I have a question though, I have a plastic board (for cutting vegetables) that is just perfect, would the plastic be fine if I put a lot of layers of quilting fabric (that filler thing I forgot the name 😅) and cotton fabrics on top?
The bra TD in me shouted “11/16!” For the number between 5/8 and 3/4 😆😅
The technical director in you will be with you forever!! I love it!
Im curious about how hot the iron gets without using fire. How fast can u warm up a tortilla on the iron?
How is your wool holding up in the mat? Does it help to make your blocks flatter?
The wool has held up great! I have a few of these me-made ironing boards and I haven’t had to change the wool out yet. A few of them are 10+ years old.
@@workroomsocial good to know, thank you. I’ve had a board ready to make one but I’ve been hesitating on making it. Now I will get it done! 😅
