Hehe schwacker freakin anchored that coyote! And man if I come across a persimmon tree dropping like that my hunt just turned into a gather! Man, I love when I have lots of eyes on me like that. I know im gonna get busted so I like to play around with just how much movement I can get away with. Has taught me alot that I have applied to similar situations in the future.
What an awesome video. Probably best they ran off. You were already hot and sweaty and most likely didn’t feel like dragging one out. Lol. To much like work for a flat head nanny.
Got to love it when scouting pays off!! People might say we'll you didn't shoot anything but that was a successful hunt in my eyes! There's something to be said when hard work pays off like that
A little jealous that you found white oaks dropping. Most of the white oaks around here were zapped by the mid-April freeze, but there are isolated pockets that have a tree or two dropping. I found way more northern red oak, southern red oak, and chestnut oaks dropping, but as you know those are lower preference acorns. I was planning to go hunt a flat that I know has chinkapin oaks on it, but got sideswiped by CoVID and all my hunting is on hold for now.
That is a very noisy woods. I hate hunting in noisy woods. Have a interstate near our hunting area. When the wind is right its silent when the wind is wrong its very noisy too.
Several years ago I watched a buck follow my scent trail, nose to the ground, for over 150 yards, all the way to within 5 yards of me before he saw me. I was wearing rubber boots, scent lock suit, scent spray, clothes and boots in a scent free container to hunting spots, and changed outside vehicle. And I'd walked in around 8 hours earlier. Just throwing that out there.
If im hunting and they around me like that some thing is getting shot at that buck would have been the first thing. You can't do that where i hunt at it's either you or the next guy will..
That white-oak grove was a great find! I'm sure there was a reason you didn't shoot the eight-pointer that fed his way in, but what was it? Was that buck never in range? Too small? Either way, I have a strong feeling that you're about to fill your first tag of the season. Best, Chris
Work on cover up scents. Alot homemade earth scents you can make to rub all over clothes and rubber boots if your budget is low or buy the more expensive chemicals to eliminate the oder but that's still not 100% guaranteed. Hard to beat the nose of the whitetail deer. Keep it up bud and good luck and safe hunting.

Like your stuff, especialy the fact no music to drown out the natural sounds in the woods...
I agree with the no music. Thumbs up. Unfortunately most noises in that place were leaf blower, mower, plane, cars, and a deer blowing.
