    Thank you! Very helpful. Was struggling between the two. I too have the old school 12yr old+ Burton boots and was looking for a refresh.

    I was searching for just this video comparing the 2. I think it's worth going up to the nicer boot based on your video. Great to see the nicer liner and rubber.

    Great video man. Same thing, I couldn’t find any good videos of the two boots. I’ve been so torn between the two. But after watching this, I’m going with the photon! Thank you

    I had the red/black/white rulers as well! Then I decided to go with the white photons of this year. I had the exact same points as you as to why I decided to go with the photons despite the cost difference. Thinks it’s worth it personally! Have a good season bro thanks for the vid

      Thanks! I hope they improve this velcro design with the liners. I almost kept the Ruler at first and was going to use my old imprint 3 liners, but glad I got and tried out the Photon instead!

    Damn this video is exactly what i was looking for after 16y with a ruler - seems like the photon now is the old old ruler and I’ll go with that one as well 👍👍👍🙏

    I chopped the booty heel pads out of my imprint 2.
    They just killed my ankles after even half hour. I also now wear a thinner wool sock now which is better for me.

      I really like the thinner wool socks too. mid-weight and merino wool have been good with these boots

    I've tried both but the main difference you've not mentioned is that the photon is much thinner than the ruler. I've tried both in wide and the photon is not at all wide. If you have wide feet do not get the photon.

    Good info overall. ANY insole that comes stock is crap and needs to be replaced.

    Hey man just curious on how you made out with the photons after riding with them.. what are your thoughts?

    • @Benjihuff
      @Benjihuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Overall I like them. No issues with pressure points. they felt a little better after the first couple of days. I try not to crank them down super tight, but snug enough. I like how easy/fast the BOA system is. I might try laces again in the future and compare the feel.

      @@Benjihuff awesome! Yeah I ordered them I'm anxious to try. I have wide feet and ik they're supposed to be pretty good but apparently one of the more narrow wide boots? So I hope that's all good and other concern is I saw someone mention that for people with bigger calves they might be tight in that area so I'm hoping it's not bad but like you said snug but not too tight

      @@Joey_Bananas I’d be curious how the wide is. I’d agree the regular is not crazy wide and boots these days have a small footprint. I used some Remind insoles that were similar to size of stock insoles this year

    Im the only one that with the Burton Ruler feels a tremendous pressure (much more than my previous boots) on the ankle zone, that makes it unconfortable / kinda painful?

    • @Benjihuff
      @Benjihuff  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ruler also had the thinner boot liner making that worse. I think double BOA in general adds a little more pressure in the ankle zone versus a lace up. I thought about getting a pair of DC lace ups to try as well.

    fire video dude, so many trash non rider reviews on here. also if you have nice boots make sure you get your shit heat molded before you ride on them the first time. burton store people in Boulder, CO mocked me for getting it heat molded. Heat molding will accomplish shit that natural break-in wont.

    • @Benjihuff
      @Benjihuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that’s a great point! I was going to heat mold mine, but ran out of time. I have about 4 days on these now and they feel pretty good. I kept them close to the fireplace before heading out one day to kind of try molding lol

    how was the fit between rulers and photons in the same size. Did they fit about the same?

    • @Benjihuff
      @Benjihuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they fit about the same. I went with the same size in the Photon as what I initially tried with the Ruler.

      @@Benjihuff cool thanks! have rulers, but the boa just broke and burton is letting me pick some new ones...so going to upgrade to photons. Nice video, was really helpfull

    Did you go with the regular or wide?

    • @Benjihuff
      @Benjihuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with the regular. Unless you wear a wide shoe and usually need a wide, the regular should be ok.
