For HDMI replacement on PlayStation, I use a solder sucker from Ali to suck out the solder in those anchor points while the board is still hot after removing the port. Try it, if it works on switch as well, it should be much less hassle than to try to remove it using the desoldering wire
Thanks for another great video! For this kind of repair I always hotswap the port. No need to remove the factory tin. Of course pre-tinning the port and only adding leaded solder the the mainboard pads. Saves time and have had literally zero returns.
Nice video, however, I added this solder to joints, couple of times and still was not able to desolder it at 225°C(maybe too small nozzle), so I used 450° after 3 minutes of 225 and it went smoothly then😂 (but you are using sensor and i probably misunderstood)
Could you possibly place the USB-C on the top of the switch? This would make it more convenient for docks and be able to charge while on a table top, like the steam deck, rog ally, and legion go.
Hello my friend, I had a problem with damage to five capacitors around the APU Switch Lite on the right side. This is due to a failure in soldering the hwfly chip cable. The question is: What is the voltage value of these capacitors? Are they all the same voltage value or do they differ? Please help. Thank you.
You brought back your own voice! Very nice. Also really appreciate the recent work in repairing the console. You're doing the community a big favor
My pleasure!

you are welcome
Now this is a rough repair, even for a seasoned technician, because that second row underneath the port cannot be checked or touched up.
Your voice is changing, I hear it thicker, that means that when you started, you started young.
😊
Nice job, but is the low melt solder strong enough to hold the usb connector? Will it not break after time?
it is fine. it is a lead free solder wire too. remember, the usb port is strengthen by two chassis screws too.
clean job realy always the best bro thx
Appreciate it!
Great video mate!
Have you got your hot air station set to 225c or are you measureing the heat on the board and use a higher temp for the hot air?
the heat on the board. my setup is 400c for the hot air
@@sthetixofficial Nice, what do you use to measure the board temperature?
@JamsGrove you can use a thermometer with K-type sensor.
Thank you very much for this Video😀
is it safe to use low melt solder in the long term🤔
it is safe. because it is not a "real" low melt solder, instead it is a solder with low melt temperature and usually phone technician use it
When you see professionals doing their job... 👍👍👍 .
thank you
