One thing I've noticed about your videos over the years is that you still get just as excited when you make a find as when you started. I think this is one of the reasons that your subscriber numbers keep rising. It is a pleasure watching you hunt. It is educational on many different levels including detecting, history, how things were done back in the day and just about everything else concerning being outdoors in the woods. Keep up the good work, you are providing a service to your fellow fishermen. I guess you could say I dig it man, wow man. I'm a Chigger Digger. Stay cool mannnn...
When you talked about your wife, that made my heart melt! I love that your wife obviously supports what you do and finds a way to enjoy the hobby with you via the bells! So cool to hear stuff like that! You rock Mr. Beau!
so glad you made video!!! I know it is time consuming, but we (your fans)... are eager to see your adventures! You are an amazing detectorist and I thank you for your skill, humor, insight, and just pure entertainment !!!!!
Gee Golly and Shazam!!!! That's a heck of a day!! Love how u actually found the other back piece to the epaulettes , awesome, people will study these type of finds for years and years to come.
The body decomposed in the river. On the body were the epaulettes and wedding ring. In his pocket was the lockett containing family pictures. In his body were the two bullets. His family forever wondering what happened to him and he lay rotting in the river. Horrible times.
Beau, I am quite envious of your abilities to find all the Civil War items that you get. The Civil War has to be my favorite era. I really enjoy the videos, just keep them coming. I look forward to the next!!
Beau Ouimette The shoulder scallops are awesome. And I can't wait to see the first shanko shell cleaned up. You are inspiring to my daughter, she wants to get a detector now so that she can find "bullets and money like Beau in the river". She's four. Thanks Beau.
It is a good thing I did not ever get a chance to see this video before we went back out there, I would have been crawling out of my skin! Thanks so much for the shout out, and the invite, it was a day I will never forget. Oughta still be a few moar goodies out there!
What an awesome video and awesome dig. With the epaulets, button, locket, and ring all in the same general vicinity I can't help but imagine what the chances are that you stumbled upon a civil war era officer's final resting place. Your videos make me want to get a detector and take up the hobby myself. Thanks and keep digging.
EARTH ANGEL MY GOSH!!! CAN YOU IMAGINE ALL THE GOOD STUFF YOU COULD HAVE FFOUND IF THE WATER WAS CLEAR??? WHAT A NICE LITTLE SPOT! JUST LOOK AT ALL THE GREAT RELICS THAT YOU DID FIND!!! THANKS FOR SHARING.
LOL!! "Sweet Lil' Beaver", (finds horseshoe), "OK, buddy, now it's ON!!". Epic!! Thanks for the video, always a treat to join you on your adventures. GL & HH in '16!
Great vid Beau.Theres an old domestic ash tip 50yrds from my house,i used to collect bottles from it.the rabbits still kick them up periodically ,ive got a small collection of vic vic bottles,lol..
I've only recently stumbled across your channel, but I'm honestly amazed at how much stuff you find... Bullets make sense to me -- so many were fired over the course of the civil war. But you find so many amazing things that just seems to be business as usual for you. That old lock you found was really neat find for me. I love old locks. I wish I lived somewhere nearby civil war sites. I'm out in San Diego on the west coast, when people think metal detectors they think combing beaches for watches and rings...
I thought POPEYE! RIGHT WHEN YOU SAID IT. Im in the dark outside my house watching Chigg dig. Neighbors probably think im nuts. "Wow" cool" holy cow!!!" Over and over completely into this video. Man what i would do to hunt 1 day with this mastr!!!
I was actually saying that's Popeye. it's Popeye. lol. Then you confirmed that it was Popeye. I know I told you I just recently found out about you, but I have pretty much went thru your catalog and watched every video. You make everything so interesting with your comments and narrations.. Then you take the time to comment on your videos and talk to the people and that also impresses me. I genuinely feel like you're a good dude. Thanks for sharing your life and findings with us Beau.
Great finds! Amazing video (as always). Its fascinating that you find all those relics in the river. You have got me motivated to go detecting in my local rivers this summer. Happy Hunting!
OMG, I'm soooo jealous, Beau that was an awesome day!!! I live in central Indiana and haven't even had a chance to hunt anything close to that. Love the history you're finding. Keep it up.
That epaulet is too cool. The brass lock looks old. Nice video Chigg,.. an artillery shell...and another one. Wow. You got the matching epaulet, and a ring. You're 3rd artillery shell, and 4th artillery shell. Great day out for sure. 👍
You really do find some amazing stuff Beau! Awesome digs man! I love that brass lock! Locks are some of my favorite relics to unearth! Great video dude, you really had a great adventure and found some AWESOME relics.
I'm glad you made the video beau. I just love them mate! Thank you so much for sharing them with us :) One day I hope to make some too when I can get myself a underwater camera. I think UK river hunts could be very interesting!
Dang it Beau, slow down all ready! LOL Give me long enough to gather myself and wipe the drool off of my keyboard! Holy cow you had a killer day! Shells, complete shoulder scales, axe, bullets, padlock, pendant, on and on! For a spot you forgot about, I believe Old Timers has truly set in. Just what the heck came out of that location first go round! HWH
When you found the second epilette(sorry if that incorrectly) I was thinking that it could have been a fallen soldier, then you found the wedding ring.. and I got chills.. Great river hunt, thank you for sharing ♡
@@aquachigger so very true, its fascinating to imagine who these people were, what they were thinking, and who was home awaiting their return... I truly enjoy all of your adventures, your enthusiasm is inspiring, Your knowledge is incredible...
Any war is hell and the suffering unimaginable but don't you think the personal effects, like the locket and ring make the futility and sadness so very poignant? Such an interesting video Beau, thanks again. :)
Couldn’t help but agree when you said a soldier fell there. That’s a shame. I am surprised that these places are not considered historical sites since there was civil war action there. Can’t believe you found so much left there from that time.
Hey beau, I totally agree with you on ALWAYS filling in your hole. Unfortunately, in Illinois, where I live, it is illegal to metal detect in forest preserves because somebody broke their ankle tripping on a hole that somebody didn't fill in. Not filling in the hole can be dangerous for others and can have consequences, like the law passed against detecting in forests in Illinois :(
Always enjoy hanging out with you. very cool epilets and shells etc. GL&HH OH yeah thank the wife for us fans with out her letting you do this we'd be bored to tears. LOL hope she enjoys the crotal bell
Your knowledge of the history of the Civil War and it's artifacts is amazing. Somehow, I suspect you may be a history teacher. I'm a new sub, having found you one day ago. I can't stop watching.
I think this is probably the most innuendo filled episode I've seen from this channel! "Sweet, sweet, little beaver....Remember to fill your holes!!" Hahaha! :)
Dang Beau!! My jaw dropped when you pulled that second shoulder scale up. You found one or two earlier this year, didn't you? I've seen a few people find pieces of them, but you keep finding the whole thing intact. You have got to be one of the luckiest people ever.
Love it, great finds. I can't remember anything about those shells you found. Maybe I'm just losing my mind. great video Beau.Dont forget the corn for the little woman.
I was amazed when you found both brass epaulettes, and even found the missing piece from the 2nd one. Were there any remnants of photographs in the locket picture frames?
I thought about that soilders being shot and killed when you found that dropped bullet and the fired one in the same spot. then you found those shoulder deals, and I got the willys before you even said anything lol

4 years and many views later, this hunt just never grows old. Bravisimo, Chigg.
Beau your videos are better than any TV so full of history and great entertainment would love to spend a week detecting with you.
When you talked about your wife, that made my heart melt! I love that your wife obviously supports what you do and finds a way to enjoy the hobby with you via the bells! So cool to hear stuff like that! You rock Mr. Beau!

Well it may of just fallen off but I like to imagine >_>

those artillery shells are badass! Kinda dumb question, but do they pose any threat of detonation after all these years? I know some old grenades can.
