Though to be fair Sohla did misuse the current political climate and made rather unreasonable assertions about Adam. Adam is an judgemental ass, however him dressing as a stereotypical rapper/gangster on a dress up party wasn't black face as Sohla suggested. Sohla also was a rather recent addition to the test kitchen and really just complained that she didn't already have a full show or got payed for that level. Sure she has expirience, but not seniority. He’s literally all over Molly, he knows she doesn’t like him but he’s in a higher position than her so he keeps getting away with pestering her, it’s disgusting
The video where they work together is so damn awkward. Seriously. And AR seems like such an incompetent guy in the kitchen, it's surprising he even had a job at BA.

The fact that he keeps calling it “cooking school” rubs me the wrong way too. Seems to show off his lack of culinary education by saying “cooking” instead of “culinary” idk. BA is a magazine for home cooks, so it makes sense to have non traditionally trained chefs sharing technique and developing recipes!
@@charlottej6074 exactly that's why it almost refreshing to see them in their houses during quarantine I think they should learn from that going forward and make it feel more normal and connect us more with them instead of just these professional people who we can't relate to. adam: "he's always like LoOK aT mE"
adam in the next clip: *walking around the test kitchen strumming a guitar for no productive reason, fully aware that brad is filming something. walks into frame only to insult him*
thank GOD he's gone. even before knowing all of this, it was so discomforting seeing him in any of the videos. he was never pleasant, nor entertaining, nor did he offer anything to the episode. he was just an annoyance. you could feel like uncomfortable he made everyone. molly was not shy about showing how much she detested him but it seems like adam was too much of an idiot to pick up on that. or he just waved it off on camera and decided to pick on her to make it seem like they had a "bickering pals" relationship.
Right! If you say you work there, we would assume you understand how to be quiet on set and out of frame while someone's actively filming, in addition to not being disgusting to your coworkers
saw his real personality shine through first in a video with molly, and never watched anything with him in it again

@@PapayaStyle which video is that

Actually an ass clown
This perfectly describes the energy!
Everyone laughs it off because he is their boss and has power over them. It’s like if the class clown was also the teacher and you knew they could give you an F on your next essay if you didn’t laugh at their shitty jokes.
@@josephp.1919 I had a teacher like this. He used to tell these stupid and insensitive jokes about students and if the other students didn't laugh or called him out on it he would give them detention. He also used to award extra credit to students who came up with "jokes" he deemed funny.
Definitely the same energy as this idiot.
Shelby wow your teacher was really pathetic. No one could report him, or he was one of those lie and deny teachers and then would keep doing it ?
He’s such a stickler about cooking school, yet sohla had cooking school and solid industry experience and was still underpaid. Yuck.
and yet he couldnt cook! man didnt know how to chop even the most basic shit
also yet he cant even fuvking chop properly
Also, watch the pumpkin chiffon pie episode to watch her (Molly) cook circles around him and correct like a dozen careless mistakes.
Personally I'm happy Adam is gone as he just made everybody consistantly uncomfortable and acted like an ass but the assertions made by both Sohla and people supporting her are even more unreasonable. (then again outrage mobs, "woke" or not, tend to be rather unreasonable)
@@relo999 Sohla didn't originate the Adam brownface scandal. Also at the end of the day holding people, esp privileged men in power accountable isn't outrage. PoC being undermined and not paid for their contributions or specifically marginalized IS an issue. Good on Molly for speaking back at him

She was talking down to him like she's better than him and he's subhuman. just because she's a woman with Aryan features doesn't give her the right to talk to her Jewish boss like that. I know there are alot of other Jewish people working for BA and I would hate to see how she interacts with them.
Andrew Rea talking to Brad: "I didn't go to culinary school."
Brad: "That's cool. I did; I didn't learn anything."
Adam: "IF you had gone to cooking school you would have learned all about ice baths...I took cooking classes at l'Academie de Cuisine..."
That's the difference between a humble person who knows what they're doing in the kitchen and an arrogant person who doesn't.
I HATE that he judged Molly for not going to cooking school. Cooking school is so inaccessible, and it’s seriously so inspiring to see women like Molly who have learned everything from busting her ass and working the line. She’s so kickass.
I always felt like he was going to start hitting on the ladies at any minute. Weird energy for a boss.
the fact he played guitar in molly’s WORK SPACE is disgusting
He's constantly trying to hit on Molly even though she is married and so is he, and she never puts up with it. She always talks back at him to try to get him to stop, but he just doesn't let up. I feel bad for her, and the fact that she tries to speak up, but no one else is, is sad
My boss does this its very awkward like he’s always on the verge of making things flirtatious..
Yeah, then I learned that he came over from GQ and was like, ah, the smarm makes sense.
you mean typical behavior for a boss of a corporation, like BA
I hate that he has a polite but kind of snarky smile all of the time while he's insulting people. He's making it seem like it's constructive but he's just posturing to make himself feel less insecure. I like the comparison to Chris, because Chris will tell you what he thinks but is also a team player and secure enough in his own abilities to not need to constantly try to "prove he's smarter" than everyone. I also have always felt like adam has a crush on molly but also is incredibly disrespectful to her-- like that's his tactic for someone he wants to like him. It's weird.

Molly was ready to fight him every second he got close to her
He ripped Brad a new one for no reason that hurt
He was such a creeper with Molly and she let it be known like wtf do you keep picking me to work with you I find you repulsive. It was very evident.
so all he did was bother them in the test kitchen, belittle them, and be racist? okay lol
The way Andy and Molly gave each other a look while Adam was being rude says a lot
0:32 I felt Brad's reaction in my heart 💔
calling a poc by the name of the only other poc is one of the most prominent microaggresions 🤢
As much as I fucking detest Rapoport and find him utterly reprehensible, I think everyone might be projecting on that one. I mean my own mother mixes up my name with my siblings’ all the time...
Christian Sanders I think it’s def one of those situations where it can be one way or the other. The first time, honest mistake. The second time, sure we can let it go. The third time, come on dude. If he was a sparkling individual I would let it go, but with all the other things he’s done, it becomes very very suspect
@@christiansanders6242 That's quite common. If I remember correctly, people organise personal names by importances. So your mother would have placed her family members into the "important names" category. It's easy to accidentally recall the wrong name from this group. But if you're not close to the individual, you're going to be spending a few seconds recalling their name, so it's less common to swap names.
If I were Priya, I would’ve responded “my name is Priya, Richard”. Just hit him back with a generic white man name with the added bonus being that Dick is short for Richard.
He got the BA job after working on GQ. Zero food industry or food publishing experience. His racist and disrespectful qualities obviously worked to his favour on both jobs
I remember when I worked for a very racists boss and when ever she was at work this was the same exact way we all would clench up and behave. Even the atmosphere in this video felt the same way. What sucks is, he'll get a great severance pay when fired smfh
He resigned, so I don’t think he would get severance. He resigned a while ago, actually.
@@Becky0494 he probably resigned to keep his severance thats how these sorts of things work you get fired for allegations of sexual harassment or racist behavior "step down" and ride the severance for a few weeks or months until you pop up somewhere else
@@Becky0494 whether fired or resign you get a severance pay 😕
it was so noticeable that molly did not like him and her classy but sassy delivery of that feeling was just brilliant
Molly is the best bc she constantly called him out on his BS. Like saying he was just judgemental while Chris was critical, she just hit the nail on the head with that and she wasn't afraid to do so
It’s sad that molly is the only one who can fight back because she probably knows she won’t get fired but maybe one of her POC coworkers might. I love the way that pria got back at him for calling her Sohla like no that’s not acceptable
False, she was the only one who did fight back. Not the only one who could have. If any of the POC spoke up and got fired for it it would have been a Huge deal.
J Bo that’s what I meant, but yeah I agree
I NEVER LIKED HIM! the first time i saw him was in the brads video when he says “you were suposed to be funnier like this” and make him feel like a clown for and audience, his face of sadness :(
YES, same for me. I think that was my first impression of Raperport, and it was not a good one.
“We wasted the best one on Adam when Sohla is the one who appreciates what we do here” 😫
Sohla should make her own cooking show. I would binge watch the hell out of it.
When he snapped at Andy, I understood that he failed to grasp why viewers love BA videos. Its the workplace setting, the people working in the background and their friendliness with each other. He was the opposite of that and disrupted the atmosphere.
he is the embodiment of “I’m gonna be the devil’s advocate here-“
Lmao when he's playing his guitar and you can just feel his 'I could have been somebody' vibes.
Amber Turner 😂😂😂
Fr I was waiting for him to start playing wonderwall 😒
He was always the villain of the test kitchen. Even in the videos you could feel the energy of the room changed when he entered
Yooooo he gives me anxiety. Literally one of those managers at your job where you clock in, and have to go do a prayer or quick meditation before you start your shift because you know you’re gonna be irritated at some point. And the type of manager you skip and do cart wheels away from in your way home when you finally quit your job.
