Hey Neil, European truck driver here, I believe this truck is from a concept truck made few years ago it was like the scania 1000hp, it obviously evolved a bit, this tractor (we say lorry for the box trucks mostly) is indeed a mix of many brands, 790 is the hp and there is nothing as powerful as that on the market actually, the scania 770hp engine being the most powerful at the moment. And no, the cab is thankfully not that bouncy in real life 😂
And to finish, at the very end you ask about the panel opening on the side of the grill, well on few trucks ( scania mostly) you need to open this 2 panels plus the grill itself in order to tilt the can without breaking everything ( you need to lift the grill on every trucks when you tilt but theses 2 extra panels are specific to some scania). I met a lad one day who was pissed bc his mechanic forgot to open the panels while lifting the cab and made a big dent on them as they went in contact with the lower body. Thank you for your attention lmao.
@@Maxmaj0r our semi trucks (the general term for them over here) here are indeed faster than that. I do a lot of interstate driving, and the general speed limit on interstate where I live is about 70mph (about 112kmh), most semi trucks do that or 5 to 10 mph faster
Correct. Ingame, if you go to the engine, there's a speed limiter which on almost every config is 90kmh. There is also a 100kmh one but if you remove it, you can get the truck up to really high speed
The thing above the driver won't be the radio, That will be the controls for the tachograph (a thing that all EU trucks have that keeps track of drivers and the hours they work)
I had a lot of fun making the skins, spent a lot of time into them and they were very much enjoyable. Always nice to do something new :P The mod is massively worth the money.
Neil. The reason as to why some axles are raised is because they aren't needed when there's not much load on the back. As for the numbers those are the HP numbers (790 is 790 horsepower) and the cab can tilt forward so you can work on the engine. America used to have quite a few cabovers but they're slowly fading away. The model is based on a few European models but the main ones are the Scania S series, the DAF XG/XG+ and the Volvo FH (interior i presume).
3:00 thats not a radio thats a tachograph for the drivers pass, it registers driving, working and rest times. It also registers in what country you are driving(need to put that in manually), who is driving(every driver has his/her/their own pass that is given out by the national agency, in the Netherlands its the Kiwa in operation of the ILT) and it also registers the weight, if you are driving in a country with toll or some form of paid driving(Belgium and Germany for example dont have toll but have kilometer payment for trucks) then the toll cast is using the tachograph. you can also drive trucks without it but it with would be an offense if you drive it on public roads while it does work and you dont have mechanic permission/arent a mechanic. there are 2 slots for 2 drivers and a small printer next to it(if you have a misdemeanor if you didnt take your rest on time for example you can write an explanation on there) im a truck driver here in the Netherlands if you couldnt tell
I think it's based off a SCANIA semi. and yes, most of the trucks in Europe do look like that. Where all the new trucks sold in the US are conventional models, almost all of the Europe trucks are COE(cab over engine). There are a few conventional trucks sold in Europe, but even then their snouts are a lot shorter than a comparable US model. As to the speed, or lack thereof, 56 mph equals just a tick over 90 kph, which is what most trucks are limited to over there by speed limits. Tilt cab makes it easy to access the engine for service
Reason the axles are off the ground is irl. Load bearing. When the truck has a light or no load. It rides high. But add weight, softer front spring sinks. Stiffer rear spring engages and holds it up. Better and softer ride when light. Firmer when heavier.
Neil, @6:27, on the real life scania, which this looks modeled after, the door popper for the side cab compartments is access when you open the front doors.
The reason you couldn't get past 57 mph in these trucks is because they have a speed limiter in them. And to get to the tilt cab button normally, you have to first open the grille, then you can open the side-panel's which gives you access to the button.
Neil i think the reason the 10x4 truck is spinning so much is beacuse is has a lot of power is not beacuse it has to many wheels that truck was design to haul heavy loads i think there should be a traction control maybe thats why is spinning si much
I think it’s because it has a lot of torque more than power, and because irl the gearbox would skip gears without a load whereas beamng doesn’t do that
The truck is just too light, there is no weight on the drive wheels. I occasionally work on german Bundeswehr SLT Tank Transporters which are Scania 650S 8x6 Tractor units with a ten axle heavy duty flatbed trailer attached. These things weigh something like 50 tons empty and are around 110-120 when fully loaded. But I digress, when uncoupling he trailer the truck alone does not wheelspin whatsoever because even without a trailer attached the mechanical downforce is so high.
This is based off a Scania cabover, and those do have fuses that power an electronic speed limiter. That is why the truck gets kneecapped just below 60.
just a little infortmation about the trucks: -you can open the side hatch when you open the main doors, and then below the seat, like all european trucks -you can also tilt the bullbar -european trucks cant go over 90km/h but you can disable it in the Vehicle Configs and then it goes up to 145km/h - to tilt the cab, just tilt the bulllbar if you have one, open the top grill, the corners and then press the tilt butten
6:25 The panel on the side is for storage, you should be able to open it with a button next to the driver seat if you open the driver door (if thats added in the mod) My dad's a truck driver and hes been one like all his life, ive gone with him quite alot of times, really cool to see this come to beamng
also not sure if someone else commented but open the front main grille, then you can open the side flaps, then tip the cab over, this is how the engine is accessed from above 👍🏼
The thing you thought were the radio controls is in fact the digital tachograph which we insert a card into that records all our driving and working hours.
This euro truck mod looks incredible! So many interactable parts, an abundance of detail, and a config that has 10 wheels. I'll be sure to try it soon! 😲
1. They are all the same speed because Europeans trucks are electronicaly limited to 90 km/h 2. Tilting the cab is for engine access so if you have to repair something on the engine, the only way to get to it is by tilting the cab.
Lotta things to say… you can get a 6 speed transmission in the editor and it’s much faster. Also there’s a speed limiter and you can remove that from the editor
Believe the only thing differently you could have done with the 10x4 is lock the diff, the problem it looked like you were having is only one side of the drive was engaged, both for better traction & heavy haul
it wobbles like that because he is playing with a controller. If he was to use a steering wheel and paddles for precise driving the cabin wouldn't lean around like that.
Normally our tilt cabs have front and rear shock absorbers plus a torsion bar at the front cab mounts which limit these swaying motions to barely perceivable levels in normal driving. The Mod appears to have not fully implemented them yet, seems like the cab is suspended solely on the air cushions
Obviously wouldn't expect a European version of the T-Series anytime soon, other than an Australian version of course. Also you could've probably used some other decent European map mod to use this truck with like Polish Roads or even Car Jump Arena (based in Germany) at the end.
I definitely didn't expect this mod to be made by a fellow Swede! 🙏 Just a real real shame that it's a paid mod... 😔 That song on the radio 02:09, is ''Leende guldbruna ögon'' by the Swedish so called ''Dance band'' group Vikingarna (Vikings). The song title is roughly translated to ''Beautiful, beautiful brown eyes'' or just ''Beautiful brown eyes''. I don't really know much about the song myself, but i'm pretty sure it's a classic trucking song or whatever here in Sweden! 😅
I don't know if it was programmed in, but UK trucks are hardeare limited by his majesty's government to 56mph, so that may be why that's all you got speedwise.
You can't go higher than 57 mph because Euro trucks are limited to that speed. In germany e.g. trucks are not allowed to go higher than 55 mph for safety reasons. It's also a detail the modder put in
you were getting wheelspin in the 10x4 bcause you kept flooring it like a car lol; in a semi you have to use only a bit of throttle to get moving because they rely more on torque than power
US trucks are also air-ride for suspension, and also for the cab, but they are much more stable than this Euro-truck is. I don't even think theirs, in reality, are as wobbly as this model is. It should be soft enough to absorb bumps, potholes, etc. but excessive movement should be well dampened. If they rode like this model acts, the drivers would all be sick, and have other issues stemming from the out of control motions of their truck.

tilting the cab is for working on the engine, because the engine is underneath the cab
