It's all awesome!
Animation was super smooth and the characters really looked like them, you can tell from one look which members is who lol.
They're telling a story of the last 30 months or so. They change from anime to real life because real life intruded on their plans for conquering the world, if that way of phrasing it isn't too confusing. They're black and white. They're disappointed and discouraged, but they kept going while their fans are watching on phones and computer screens. They switched back to anime because it's time to unleash their plan; to plant their flag and let everyone know who they are.
They play for everyone, but always cater to the musicians in the audience. Sometimes they almost throw things at us just because they can, but the catchiness is there too. On top of that, they never bore you repeating things, but you always know it's them :)
I'm just so impressed how they constantly take on different parts of the rock spectrum keeping things fresh and interesting, but they have truly grown and developed into having that unmistakable Band -Maid sound and feel. Feels like there's no limit to how high they could go!

3:25 you've just put into words what i've personally been thinking about how to describe misa's approach to bass-playing. yes, she's so busy on her side yet it doesn't dominate the overall sound they create.

Hey, great analysis. In these dozen days everyone has gone crazy analyzing this song and yet you have commented several really original things. "Akane phrasing in groups of three notes, I know it's her even if I don't see her", I especially liked that compliment to our perfect drummer and I like that you recognize in her a personal style.
"A phrase of 9 bars", wow, for that you have to have a highly trained musical ear. Yes, the girls love weird time measurements.
The strange sound of guitars during the bridge is Kanami playing with an Eventide Harmonizer pedal. Some have found it even too playful and would prefer a more rock sound. Matter of taste.
And yes, of course... MISA, MISA, MISA always, forever and everywhere. Thank you, I´ve enjoyed a lot!

There is an instrumental version of this song floating around on YT (really just a version with the vocal tracks removed). It really allows you to hear all the insane intricate stuff going on underneath the vocals.
Thanks DrumRollTony, nice reaction. If you get the chance, watch their performance at SummerSonic a few days ago. Akane's so happy to be playing again, she was smiling the whole show (an ever bigger smile than she normally has). You can find it if you look around a bit.
Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leech. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Their Covid-fighting MV and new battle gear is exciting, meaningful and classy! Unleash (or Sense) will, in my thinking, be their new opener for their upcoming tour. Maid Music will continue to envelop you until you succumb in ecstasy to its brilliant and undeniable forces. 💥🎀💥 Thx, Tony!

Akane MISA Mincho. I "AMM" a Band-Maid fan. The triumvirate are the best in the Rock business. You won't convince me otherwise. Then add the outstanding vocals and harmonies. Then add their outstanding team around them. And you have an Awesome Rock band that sidled up to the best ever. Peace. 34.8
There are a zillion things about that video that you'll pick up on if you go back and watch it after really getting to know the band. All the Easter eggs, and the whole pandemic story--showing their changing emotions as they dealt with it and tried to stay connected with their fans. Great reaction!
The Unleash!!!!! anime seems to show the black cloud of covid enveloping the world and depressing the F out of everyone, including B-M members, who'd fought against their cancelled tours, including a Budokan concert, by performing live and streaming the concerts worldwide (bless them for that). The Little Pigeon seems to energise the band to keep playing this way for now...but then a second wave of darkness appears and even Miku can't get everyone together again. Then it seems that Saiki becomes the strong centre for the band and, while all except Saiki look lost as the live shots start, the other members seem to be inspired by how Saiki keeps fighting through and this energises the other band members to start playing again. Then, for the final piece of anime, the ladies use their spaceship to blast away the covid cloud and save the world. Or it all means something else entirely! VIDEO QUESTION: The way the live action was used in this anime was clever. The lost, alone and confused looks on everyone (except Saiki) faces and their gradual revitalisation due to Saiki's indomitable spirit fighting on. Then their return to playing together with new vigour as a result followed by a return to the anime for the satisfying conclusion of the Band-Maid space ship (The USS Domination, maybe?) blasting away the second covid wave. Excellent blend of anime and live action to tell a story, with the live action providing a real and quite stark image of the sadness and loneliness they felt at being apart and not being able to play live.
Thank you for once again opening the ears. I watched this twice to take everything in.
The animation was cute and told a story, a bit unusual for band-maid but it worked out great in this song.
I've heard that for the first time they have released an official acapello version - a real invite to the edm guys.
Thanks for the Sunday morning entertainment Tony! I'm with you in the sense of generally preferring live performances. If it's going to be a music video though it should take us on a trip rather than just showing people standing around while pretending to play instruments. The animation did a great job of that, while the live action scenes provided an anchor to reality.

Hey brother, this is your neighbor up here in Lynnwood. To be honest this is one of the few Band Maid songs I didn't like very much. Talent...yup but this one wasn't my favorite. I highly recommend the song Don't You Tell Me live. Make sure it is the live version. The barefoot assassin and the Riff Goddess have an EPIC back and forth. I think you would really love Misa's shredding on the bass. Glad to see the success. Have a great Labor Day!

Thumbs up👍. Band-Maid is just too good to make bad songs. If you are a drummer then their song "Warning" is for you. In this case the MV because you can hear the drums better. A great example of how a drummer can make a good song even better. Akane is first class!!

Hey! I see you are reacting to a lot of japanese music lately (be it from anime or not) i HIGHLY suggest you reacting to "Ado", she has insane vocal range and variety, and sings in a lot of genres! She has done some very strange stuff, so i reccomend mainly songs like "ashura" And "readymade" That aren't as crazy, but still highlight her insane vocals!

Band-Maid fans notice a lot of hidden clues in this video. The one that's most poignant to me is at 1:22 where Miku is shown (Alone) in the original 2015 video Thrill where she couldn't play guitar at that point and to reflect on how far she has come since then. Also At 2:40 Kanami with hearts around her when she's close with Saiki since every fan knows that Kanami is in love with Saiki.

You need to react to the DevilMan CryBaby OST. It is an absolute masterpiece that i think you would enjoy :) If you have to choose just one of the songs from the OST then review "Devilman No Uta" It is one of the best OST soundtracks in anime.
