Hi Mitchell, nice video. i use vmix for different podcast, but it seems companion only is allowed to have one instance... I have 5 different podcast and need to reset all buttons ???.. is there a workaround. thanks
A quick questions. What would you suggest if I have a streamdeck mk (15 keys). I really liked your template and you explained it perfectly. Thanks in advance.
I think I would suggest making multiple 15-button-sized companion pages that you can navigate between on the deck. I should probably create a version of my Companion template for doing that... I'll try to remember to respond to this comment again once I do.
Possibly? You may be able to use either the emulator in Companion (which supports keystrokes for hitting buttons) or try to make it work in vMix itself via the shortcuts menu. I haven't personally tested hold/release keyboard ideas there
are you talking about changing which Companion button page your stream deck has on it? Here's a timestamp @5:18 In words: go to 'Surfaces' in Companion, click the settings for your stream deck, uncheck "use last page" and then slide to the play page.
Thx, I mean, how to change page in streamdeck surface between the two pages you created? Not in the companion gui, but on streamdeck in order to access the play page you created as second page
@@adpproductions I know, I was giving you one solution for that. If you want a button to switch pages on ONE stream deck: You can create a button on page 1 with the "internal: Surface: Increment page number" action, and a corresponding button on page 2 with the "internal: Surface: Decrement page number" action. That way you could swap between page 1 and page 2 on the same stream deck.
like their replay controller clone of EVS? No, but I have used EVS. I think it's great for instant replay, but that Companion deck layouts like mine will always be faster/better for playlist editing
Everyone has preferred controls! I use EVS, so I do have an appreciation for that sort of controls layout. But for me personally, the full display & functionality customization afforded by Companion-powered Stream Decks is simply too much for those devices to overcome
@@MitchellMorleyProd cool each to their own . An EVs cost thousands of $ and many of us can’t afford one. Have a look at the replay devices or midi controllers affordable and can be mapped by central control .I also use companion with stream decks and find them really good to use with a replay controller.
@@markhepi7791 Ah, I think we may have misunderstood each other. I agree that Stream Decks are good, EVS controllers are good, and things like the Sankey are also good. I think it is 'taste' for which one people want. My taste is Stream Decks because of the customizing. But I also agree that a T-Bar and jog wheel are important! I just want a device with ONLY a T-Bar and Jog Wheel instead of something big like the Sankey. Thank you for the conversation :)
NOW THIS IS EPIC
nothing, absolutely nothing in this presentation is "epic".
Thank you so much Mitchell, much love! ❤
You are very welcome!
Thanks
Good video ❤ ty😊

@@MitchellMorleyProd Thanks man. I appreciate that.
Is there a way to customize the hold/release buttons on the keyboard without using the stream deck?

Thx a lot. Just a question, how can I access play page within streandeck surface?
