Popoff may have been quicker on progress with Tidal Wave then Zoink, but we need to keep in mind that Popoff probably had more motivation to play more attempts while being in a race with Trick to first victor. But then again, Zoink being the verifyer was pretty much racing every gd player in the world so I'm not really sure. Although the Slaughterhouse x3 was insane so Popoff being better than Zoink is pretty likely.

Zoink beat Kowareta in 600 attempts when it was still listed worthy, and also Amalgam in 1.4K attempts Not to mention MINUSdry in 5.5k, Saul Goodman in 5.6k, and Deimos by ItsHybrid in 6k
I think the 3 key factors of seeing who the best player is... 1: Attempt count: this is an obvious factor, as someone who beats hard demons with hundreds of thousands of attempts or even millions would not be as good as someone with fewer attempts. For example, if someone had 30k attempts on Tidal Wave and another had 200k, then the 30k person most likely would be better. 2: Ratio of demon type (what I mean is the ratio of demons in extended, main, and legacy lists.) This just makes sense as someone who beats Bloodbath (which is legacy) should not be as good as someone who has beaten a level in the main list (e.g Silent Clubstep) 3: Demon list points: This one is just a no-brainer. Unless their demon list points come from 300 legacy list demons, most of the time you won't be having people with a few thousand points from something along those lines, as demons like that usually yield fewer points.

You could compare Zoink and Trick, as they started playing at almost the same time, but Popoff joined in only recently and therefore has more opportunities to show his skill.
It doesn't matter who lost the race, Trick took the most attempt out of all of them, while Wpopoff very very likely the least, estimated 25K-45K Attempts, and 45K is 4K less than 49K which is Zoink's attempts.
It would be easier to know the answer if Popoff included the attempt count on Tidal Wave, but I feel the reason for this is because he dosen't want to be compared to Trick or Zoink, not sure though. These two aloong with Trick are pretty much undoubtedly the best players right now.

@@GadoGDi think the issue with this comparison is that basically every top player is capable of beating list demons at the same rate (specifically trick zoink and wpopoff) because at their current level of raw skill they can basically beat everything at a similar rate. i think even if one of them is better the difference is so marginal it doesn’t matter
It's really hard to dictate who's "better" considering the fact that wPopOff has mentioned multiple times before that he doesn't take GD seriously, which is especially emphasized with his complete lack of a reaction in any of his completions. So I think it's safe to say that they're both equally talented at the very least, Zoink is just a far more passionate and prevalent player.
What I would want to add is. Zoink also play tested plus buffed tidal wave, adding more time in general. So I think that should be accoiunted for. But for me I still consider zoink better.

more completions doesn't necessarily mean more skill, I think popoff could totally beat that many levels faster than zoink at this point, and that's why I think he's better

@@GadoGDi think the issue with this comparison is that basically every top player is capable of beating list demons at the same rate (specifically trick zoink and wpopoff) because at their current level of raw skill they can basically beat everything at a similar rate. i think even if one of them is better the difference is so marginal it doesn’t matter

It's really hard to dictate who's "better" considering the fact that wPopOff has mentioned multiple times before that he doesn't take GD seriously, which is especially emphasized with his complete lack of a reaction in any of his completions. So I think it's safe to say that they're both equally talented at the very least, Zoink is just a far more passionate and prevalent player.

What I would want to add is. Zoink also play tested plus buffed tidal wave, adding more time in general. So I think that should be accoiunted for. But for me I still consider zoink better.
he still took a lot longer removing the playtesting. buffing the level while he's playing it doesnt really mean much
