I'm actively involved in animal rescue, so I have a lot of animals at any given time. Some of the dogs have to be rotated around the house and it's a lot of work. I currently have 2 dogs and 1 cat needing forever homes. The cat, Rupert, was found outside with his legs torn open to his bones. I thought he had been shot and was going to lose one of his legs. He's now in a large dog kennel and is recovering well. I really need to find a home for him though 😢

BAHAHAHAH fun fact so this is actually my great uncle gary. this episode of hoarders is the families favorite thing to talk about because it really highlighted how horrible of a man gary was. i remember when it was sent to the family group chat about there was a hoarders episode made about him. we never really associated with him because he would always cause problems at gatherings and eventually stopped coming around all together fairly early on in my life. he ended up passing away in the summer of 2019, which i feel is a blessing for kathy because she was actually a good woman. she was abused heavily by gary and couldn’t do anything without him which is why she stayed with him. he was always a huge man child and narcissistic. there is literally not a single nice thing to say about this man, even down to the fact that there’s hardly an obituary for him.

The only reason they dont evict these tenants is because they know 100% no one else would ever rent it out unless the whole thing was bulldozed over and rebuilt from the ground up. Least they can pay off the mortgage if they keep the tenants who like to sleep in rabbit poop.

Also depending on location it might be hard to find a tenant who actually pays their monthly rent payments. The number of people who rent a house, make the deposit and then squat in the house for 6-9 months waiting out the eviction processes will surprise you! That’s why it is important to background check potential tenants.

    1. Rabbits eat their own poop for nutrition

So, I've had a domesticated rabbit. He was lovely until he died of cancer at 11. You can litter train them similar to a cat. If they're kept engaged and entertained they're not destructive. If you handle them, they can love snuggling and playing with you and they're very sweet.

Gary's rebuttal to this isn't healthy is, "Oh yeah. I'd like to see your place" leaving Dane stumped. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bunnies really are wonderful pets, but they are HIGH HIGH MAINTENANCE. You MUST be a responsible adult to care for a bunny as a pet.
They are NOT pets for children. They are a lot of work.
If you picked one up and it was screaming, they only make that sound when they are extremely frightened. They do not make that sound normally. That's not a sound you ever want to hear from your bunny, because it means they are under extreme distress and/or pain.

That's where they should sue or demand the money for repairs. Somewhere in a contract must of said what can and can't happen and consequences like they do at apartments. My ex left 2 small bags of trash when we left and was charged 50 bucks per trash bag (half full too). He didn't want to throw it out and didn't think anything of it. If you're going to live in a place and destroy it you better pay for the consequences of YOUR actions not the bunnies. That wife looked sick as hell all red and congested. It's stories like this that make people think they can walk around and do whatever and not have to pay for their own actions. If I was the landlord I'd demand them both to clean with the crew and if either left during to charge even more. I'd make that man break his back cleaning up for HIS mistake instead of treating him like a adult child and letting him leave all the time. That man's never had true discipline and a pure narcissist. A lot of rabbit owners already commented but have another one cause I couldnt imagine my babies living like this.
They love to be clean. -I see one of mine often pushing things neatly in a corner so nothing is cluttered. She gets upset when things aren't clean.- I didn't see a single bit of hay when it's support to be most of their diet. I only saw massive bowls of pellets. Diarrhea in rabbits is a sign of needing to go to the vet immediately you'd never know it in all this. All this talk about poop but I can't imagine the smell of the pee in there. Any surface will smell forever. Those rabbits chewed the walls cause they constantly need to chew since their teeth never stop growing, on top of loving having places to hide. It's all they could do. -Another of mine is more of a menace and does try to chew the walls even if he has plenty of chewing material around him. They're smart, he does it on purpose lmao. He's also a big fan of "digging" the rug.- Are any of the bunnies not getting along? Are there fights for dominance? What is even the state of their nails?? This man chose a high maintenance animal to have 26 of and just let them go. It's insane to me. He clearly has issues, something is definitely wrong for him to be this delusional about things so I can't help but feel a little bad for him but I wish those rabbits didn't have to suffer from it. Glad they were adopted and hopefully they live an amazing rest of their lives with good owners 💙

Mine would follow me like a puppy and even learned a few tricks. They are prey animals so you have to be gentle and kind to earn their trust. They can be litterbox trained. They also need a special, balanced diet and unlimited hay to keep their teeth worn down. They need to be spayed and neutered, especially the females, not only to prevent babies but they are prone to cancer down the road. I feel so bad for these little guys. Dane's reaction to the bathroom reminded me instantly of the Dumb and Dumber scene with Bob Saget screaming "there's shit everywhere!!" 😂 Bob Saget appreciation

You see it all the time where people abuse animals and just say “I love them! I can’t get rid of them!” Those bunnies would thrive without Gary

The thing I can think of in why the owners didn't kick them out, is because they're getting rent from them, and there is no way anyone else would even rent that house. So I think the owners are just making them clean it while still paying rent, so they don't have to try and find someone who'd rent such a destroyed house

yeah slum lords... maybe it wasn't in **great** condition to start and they figure they'll just let em live in it and collect their disability checks til it falls in on em.

Rabbits are corner poopers... They start in a corner and it spreads out from there. Meaning if he's got poop all over the house... He never cleaned up after his rabbits ever.
Second... He loves to blame people for not "rescuing" the rabbits... He honestly could've just left the door open for a bit and the rabbits would've left on their own. It still would've been better than this situation.
He was perfectly happy with his situation, he just needed to blame someone for the camera.

2:50 rabbit actually eat their own poop, because their digestive system is too short to metabolise all the nutrients so they have to poop and eat it again to benefit from all the nutrients
first poop is a jello like thingy (thats what they eat) and the second poop is more solidified (thats what they dont eat)

20:07 that’s actually his best move bc if they move out nobody will rent that place he basically dang near have to build a new house maybe still have to knock it all way down so if they move out he’s out a rental house unless builds a new one and he knows even if he won in courts they ain’t got the money to pay him it take forever so by letting them stay he’s at least keeping money coming in off a destroyed house no one else would rent

You /can/ litter train bunnies just like cats! It's just a matter of training them, and keeping the litter clean so they wanna use it ❤

ok so i have two free roam buns (in a small apartment, mind you, so they're around my stuff 24/7) and let me tell you - they're literally like cats when you take care of them and educate them properly. they can be litter trained, they learn tricks, they can come sleep with you, you can teach them not to chew on things, etc. they each have their own personality, too. some of them LOVE pets and being picked up, others not so much.
the worst thing my bunnies have chewed on is my laptop charger and an earphone wire.
    this guy just really sucks
