Apparently the Parameter Access Device Code must be added each computer we use. Sure would make it a lot easier on us if you attached it to the device!
It won't be long before your modified tune files are automatically exported to the EPA, if they aren't already. Be careful what emissions changes you make in your tune.
I have a feeling that the device ID HP tuners gives you after doing their ''training" will be embedded in the tune file, and might very well be able to be embedded somewhere in the actual module you tune if they wanted to.
That is a silly thing to say! I have a 100% emissions compliant Raptor Crate engine in my old truck long before this. it puts down 603hp and 658 tq to tire and runs flawless. I would bet it's easier to tune with proper stuff in place vs trying to remove it all. What is wrong with emissions AND power? ALL my swaps into old stuff are emissions compliant as in vehicle std with that drivetrain.
I can imagine if you save the 4.xx program on a laptop you don't use or add a user to your laptop.. there's a chance you'll be able 4.x on one user and 5.0 on the other. There's also chance they'll force you to update the program at some point but you need to be connected to the internet to download... might need to stay offline while you use it...
@@diyspeed i took a chance, plugged it in, no firmware update....but can happen at any update...also 4.12 will open files saved with 5.0 it seems. I did that on another computer. Sticking with 4.12 for now.
Why do I need to comply with California bs to tune a drag car. Come on, are you trying to convince me to switch platforms? Because that’s how you do it.
The Advanced Parameter Training program is applicable regardless of a specific state as they apply at the Federal level with EPA regulations. @HP Tuners This advanced emissions training course that has been added, with a code that is uploaded into someones data base after you complete the course, does this keep track of how i tune all of my vehicles?

Hi Tony If I update to 5.0 as an Australian user do I still need to do the emissions training to unlock the full feature suite ? Seems to me I might be better off staying with the current suite and skipping the update unless the training is not needed in my region for full feature suite.
The Advanced Parameter Training course is applicable regardless of region and is standard across the latest VCM Suite 5.0 release. For anyone that wants access to select tables and parameters, they will need to take the the training course and pass the test to enable access. Updating to the newest version of VCM Suite 5.0 also gives you the latest vehicle support and software features.
Hi I was wondering if I’m dealing with a software issue . I have a 2010 Mercury Mariner that I thought had 1 o2 sensor so before the new update I changed it to 1 . I looked under my car recently and found there was a second o2 sensor after my catalytic converter,so I attempted to change it with the new update and course completed with the code attached to my device and I still can’t edit it because it’s grayed out still. What should I do??
