This is 100% percent me right now. I’ve ignored my mental illness that had made every relationship suffer. I was dating the girl of my dreams, but my mind started telling me this is too good to be true good things don’t happen to you like this and that’s where my insecurities and anxiety overthinking started transplanting onto her and that was a lot of weight to bare and the relationship fell apart I hold so much guilt and regrets for my mental health getting the way of something that had made me the happiest I’ve ever been.
I have hit so many roadblocks in my life and I’ve tried to get help but the help was never there I admitted myself to a mental health facility for exactly what this song is about but I’ve gone through life without a coping mechanism. I am now getting the help I have been looking for and trying my hardest to change my cognitive distortions. I made a promise to wait for her while she needs time to find out what she needs and what she wants in life and I am hopeful that everything works out but not knowing is half the battle. Thank you all for making this song it hits me hard in the chest that I’m in tears right now because it hits home.

This song resignates with me in more ways than one... being the one with coping mechanisms and being the one on the other side of someone's coping mechanisms. The reality of realizing that what may have seemed like a good coping strategy to me at one time, may not have actually been the best choice... I could have done better and with being on the other side of someone's coping mechanism that could have been better, has pushed me to work at getting better strategies that achieve what I really need and don't negatively impact another person in any way. Wasnt easy, but was sure worth the effort. I'd rather spread positivity vs negativity, whether its intentional or unintentional. Cause its important to act like what you do matters, cause it does.
