I loved that the DLC was mostly attitude era guys so I actually wanted to spend my money on wrestlers for my game instead of begrudgingly buying wrestlers who just felt missing from the base game.
I know this isn't the right game, but here's something interesting to note about SVR 2010. There was a sort of legend that Yoshi Tatsu was released as exclusive DLC in Japan. Obviously, this wasn't true, but it's a little fun fact to note.
I LOVED the way they made Ministry of Darkness Undertaker look in this game. I haven't seen Undertaker look anything close as good in any game after. I still have this game and go back to it from time to time. Great game!

From memory, the Attitude Era mode only covered up until 1999, so while The Hardy Boyz were making fairly established, Angle only just debuted late that year and The Dudleyz had just come across from ECW. Had the mode continued into the McMahon-Helmsly Era then those wrestlers would have been more obvious omissions.
I actually loved how CM Punk was on the cover. This was the first WWE game I ever played and Punk was my favorite wrestler at the time, despite him having a terrible relationship with the company.

Evolution can't happen because Benoit. Without him, no WrestleMania XX, SummerSlam 2004 or Survivor Series 2004 which were all extremely important parts to the Evolution narrative.

WWE 13 is by far my most favorite game they made it almost reminds me of WRESTLEMANIA 2000 all due to them adding the attitude era style roster to it I still play it alot today on my XBOX 360 Hahaha

It was still his likeness and the exact model was used in Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 (the true successor to WM2K) where he wrestled in Japan as Johnny Ace.

Fans being mad at the occasional insults levied at Eric Bischoff (and the failures he contributed to) & the claim that Mick Foley's first WWF Championship win helped to turn the tied in the Monday Night Wars are either entirely ignorant to history or they just wanted a glossed-over Attitude Era Mode (which is dumb, IMHO, as people should've looked forward to a relatively authentic recreation of the time period, bearing the obvious exceptions), considering how the shots at WCW were genuinely said (after all, Bischoff was already giving away results to RAW tapings before prerecorded RAW episodes would air, so the Federation countering that in its own competitively petty yet still warranted way was to be expected) & the notion that Mick Foley's title victory "put butts in the seats" opposite the infamous Fingerpoke of Doom bullocks was , at the least, partially true.
I really wish 2K would redo every catching finisher animation. They have all been the same since WWE ‘13. Except for some that were added in later games but the majority of them, needs a complete overhaul.
This is the last "WWE" game I bought. Attitude Era was enough to warrant my purchase. Plus the create suites are very in depth this time around... even allowing for custom music... a feature which hasn't been seen in a WWE game since. I really do like this game alot... but the AE omissions are glaring... especially the exclusion of Chyna and Rick Rude.
Between watching this and remembering playing it...and playing 2k16 on ps now, I really want a game (thats fixed) to have a showcase with the attitude era again...but more in depth, maybe with multiple superstars covering the era (rock, mankind, dx, austin) on modern consoles. Also wouldn't mind seeing a wcw showcase. But the problem is that a lot of wcw big names are aew now and with the games being yearly (thaNks WWE) were never gonna see it.
Honestly my biggest issue with WWE games is the random omission of tattoos (i.e. CM Punk, Braun Strowman). Not sure if WWE felt they were gonna need to pay royalties to Pepsi or WB but it's just silly.

I used to love this game! I really wish they would do a legit WCW mode where you can play as sting beating up the NWO.... would be nice
The anti-WCW commentary was as much a part of the Attitude Era as everything else, particularly in the moments you brought up.
This is the last "WWE" game I bought.
Attitude Era was enough to warrant my purchase. Plus the create suites are very in depth this time around... even allowing for custom music... a feature which hasn't been seen in a WWE game since.
I really do like this game alot... but the AE omissions are glaring... especially the exclusion of Chyna and Rick Rude.

WWE 13 attitude era mode is the best “showcase” mode in the series imo. it was great going through the attitude era in WWE 13
I think the shots at wcw is a good detail because we’ll it was the Monday night war both company’s where taking shot’s at each other at the time
Between watching this and remembering playing it...and playing 2k16 on ps now, I really want a game (thats fixed) to have a showcase with the attitude era again...but more in depth, maybe with multiple superstars covering the era (rock, mankind, dx, austin) on modern consoles. Also wouldn't mind seeing a wcw showcase. But the problem is that a lot of wcw big names are aew now and with the games being yearly (thaNks WWE) were never gonna see it.
The Dean Ambrose model must have been scrapped because maybe they wanted the whole Shield in it.

Honestly my biggest issue with WWE games is the random omission of tattoos (i.e. CM Punk, Braun Strowman).
Not sure if WWE felt they were gonna need to pay royalties to Pepsi or WB but it's just silly.
