Just so folks understand, he is painting based on a photo. I took a rendering class in college for product design. My artisitc skillset is mild at best. By the end of the semester the entire class was producing exceptional renderings, some even photorealistic. Art in the modern world is less about skill, and more about the process. Something anyone can learn. And the "fame" part of art has more to do with who you know, not how good you are. I am not trying to take away from this artists work, but rather letting readers know that its not as magical as it seems. Its similar to magic, once you understand the process its kind of a no brainer.
Photo realistic is a process and any one can do it if you take time. The magic is making a painting. There is a difference. The people who sell and make a name do something fresh and new and pleasing. Artist who just render might not quite reach that success and fame. Standard advice for artists is don’t quit your day job. Lack of appreciation for art in modern toc tok society leads to comments like yours.
@@Handotr There is nothing fresh about this artists work. Flesh colored faces and hands set in a monochromatic background is not exactly fresh or pleasing. Secondly, this person only reached their level of "fame" based on the fact their father was a member of the British parliment. Its always less about what you know and more about who you know. Lastly, I greatly appreciate art and have for 5 decades. But there is nothing unique, ambitious, or even fun about this work. Its dull like most modern art/artists and that is being kind.
Some good tips. I’m particularly impressed by that mountain range of dried paint on his palette.
Based.
Love your work!
Being famous for one’s art is still a privilege-based game.
which would be good to join on one's own humble terms!

Correct! 👏🏼👏🏼
I think he works with his subjects in persons as well as with references so both have influences over his process

Is that a South African (Natal) accent? Enjoyed listening & watching thanks 🇿🇦
No. Westminster I reckon.
Whatever. Mediocre at best, but, hey, he painted Charles as conte dracula, so he must be 'creative'.
