👍 great demo... no drums, no unnecessary effects etc., just bass and a lot of B-string, i wish more gear demos like this... thank you very much, now I will go and tey one of these myself🎉
Great showcase of tone. The pickups in these 60XMS and 80XMS models don't disappoint! I like them more than the Barts, and even the Nords in other BTBs I've owned. I keep my 806MS in A standard, and the string tension is awesome. Clean, the tone is clear and punchy, but can easily get rubbery and funky with more of the bridge pickup dialed in. I like to play with a bit of neck dialed in for that woody "organic" vibe. These are a hit with the prog-metal bassists, but really sound great for any genre. As far as I know, these are the only affordable alternatives to Dingwall, and they're still kind of pricey. I hope Ibanez will make a "40XMS" that will become even more affordable, maybe in that $500-$600 range with the same pickups and maybe a bolt-on neck.
I've used the EHB with the Bartolinis for some years now and honestly can't get a tone out of them that I'm really stoked on. Tried this BTB in a store, instantly preferred it haha
Thanks for the awesome review!! The best one on TH-cam by far. I did subscribe to your channel. I have owned the BTB 806 MS for over a year now. I'm Still very impressed and love the bass!!
Killer bass 😎🤘🏻🎸 I once tried a btb bass years ago and I thought it was awesome. Even though I’ve been playing soundgear basses for years, I also dig the btb model basses. And this bass is an absolute beast. It especially sounds incredible with distortion. I might consider purchasing this one.
Great video! Thank you. I'm thinking of buying this bass, since I already have two SR multiscale basses, but the SR is 35.5 inches, and this BTB is 37 inches
Awesome! I'm looking on this one instead of a dingwall ng3, the pricing is way more affordable...how do you feel this compared to the dingwalls, comfortable? Tones? Etc
I think it's a great choice if you want something different than a Dingwall. The neck is really comfy, and it has a good range of tones. Alot of bang for the bucks.
I just plugged it in to the DI input of my audio interface, Audient iD44. That's all the gear I used. In my DAW I just controlled it dynamically with compression and limiter.
I am curious about this bass and this is the only good review / Tone test I found. Could you also put up a video with finger picking? Plectrum adds unnecessary transients and shoots up the treble. While its great for rock and metal but the True Tone comes from the fingers
Are these the factory strings. The ehb1005 tone test videos ive seen had some real dull sounding strings, if these are the stock Strings im definetly not changing them
Esta bien el video . hay pocos videos que se bea bien como funciona el registro que tiene.estaria bien hacer un video con dedos para acabar de rematar para que se vea bien i con pua tocar algo para que la gente pueda ber bien por si se lo quiere coger
Interesting. While I admit that pick playing bass sounds like ass to me, this bass sounds like it could sound nice when played differently. Which is something most fan frets don't.
i think this is the most affordable 37" b on the market which is a great thing from ibanez the extra scale makes such a difference
The Agile 53735 is cheaper

Yes an even more affordable version would be a great idea!
Cheers

What string gauges are you using on the 806/A standard? Did it require much adjustment for intonation?
@@deeemess
Right now I have 30-125 and it's got plenty of room to intonate.
Thank you. This is exactly the review I was looking for - a lot of picking, especially on the B string.
Happy you found it useful!

@@tonycarel1785 Thanks!
Love the tones, great review, Thank you sir! Was looking for a backup Multiscale bass to my Dingwall, think this is going to be it!
Thanks! It's a solid choice for sure.
This bass sounds great, would love one for A standard or drop G tuning!
I'll do a demo with it in G-standard, stay tuned

will this do justin chancellor sound? if so what settings ? awesome review. just got it based in your video.
I think it would. The pickups are in the similar place as his wal. I'm going to play tool with this too.
If you'd like, please let me know what equipment you used for the recording.
I have the same bass, but it doesn't have the beautiful tone you have!

At 15:30 in this video I play with fingers! Though it's with Distortion.
I need a japanese version of this.

Yes these are the D'addarios it came with.
What strings are you using man?
The stock strings! It's D'addario for super long scale. Cheers!
Bro, I need help. What strings do you buy for this bass???
@@chuckm6721 Dingwall 5 string set or Payson Strings!
@@kyrorocks Thank you so much man. Are there any other specifics I should be aware of?
@@chuckm6721 Not that I can think of.
