No song brings me back to being a child in the backseat while my mom drove around running errands in the early 2000's. It's *so* rare for a song to bring me back to such a *specific* moment in time.
Finally know what this song means. I’m 47 years old and have had a friend for the past 25 years. She is a beautiful woman and we were strictly good friends(as in no benefits). We’ve both gone thru marriage and all the things that life brings peoples way. About a month or so ago we both had a few days free time and invited her to visit Texas together. We both live in different states and noticed we were talking on a deeper level than we ever had....to make a long story longer lol. We arrived at airport an hour or so apart....saw each other & shared the most fantastic kiss ever and had the best 4 day stretch of my life. We are planning to move back in May when her lease expires and be together. She is the ONE. Crazy because she’d always been in front of me and never imagined that I’d ever find love.
Vi Haze thank you and you are young and have plenty of time!!! A quick update is I already transferred my job to Texas and have been here since the start of this pandemic basically. Things are still going great and I’m just waiting for the end of June to get here.....her lease expires and I’ll take a fews off work to get her and bring her here. this true happiness still seems foreign to me and it’s scary, I know that sounds dumb but it’s how I feel. I wish you the best of luck!!!
The single most overplayed song of the 90's! Plus, it's not really a song per se, more like an atonal country rap or something. Does Faith actually hit a single note at any time throughout the entire piece? Terrible!
@@theexile6605 can anyone be said to have bad taste in music when such a thing is purely based on opinion? Sure! You surely have bad taste commenting here while also hating the song and having clicked it. I'm also a year late, but the message isn't time based, i just wanted to say that, so yup 😉
@@etherreal4393 Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to comment on a "song" that I don't like, but this piece was so ubiquitous in public places that it always got on my nerves. And while I do like country music in general, I must reiterate that this is far from one of the best of that genre. I even have nothing against Faith Hill as a singer, but only someone with no musical ear whatsoever could think this is a great piece of music. You make it sound as if I just trashed Beethoven's 9th Symphony!! I would also estimate that you are hardly a music historian, though you seem to be alright on the whole. You are correct that there is such a thing as good taste and bad taste, but an example of bad taste would be saying that the Burger King down the street is a far more beautiful building than the Taj Mahal. I did not say that. As for hitting an actual note, maybe check out Ariana Grande's "One last time" if you want to hear a singer actually doing that. Cheers.

Tho this song would mostly appeal to the ladies, I always enjoyed it as the background melody, music and even the singing is so positive from start to finish- it leaves you feeling uplifted...and ‘98 had that rejuvenating feel for me after a crappy ‘97, and so this song stuck with me...that’s what I loved about songs back then - they were alive and you could feel the emotions in them- not like today’s factory manufactured AI/drone/zombie music...
