So could you please do a session related with this scenario.
You can't partition as off now because your only partition is being used. But you can create temporary disk as detailed in dextutor.com/how-to-create-disk-partitions-in-linux/

please do the same in a real machine (without using VMs); root partition resize, creating partitions etc.
