G'day Everyone, preserving any excess harvest of homegrown chemical-free fruit and veg is important and smart. If you are interested, the link to the Harvest Right freeze dryer mentioned in the video is affiliates.harvestright.com/1099.html they are a very good made-in-the-USA machine! Anyway, thanks again for all your support and make sure you "get into it..." Cheers, :)👍
You’ve easily become one of my favorite TH-camrs. I’ve even caught myself doing the intro thumbs up hahaha. My garden is struggling right now in the Texas heat. My first time gardening. Not sure what I’m doing yet. Thanks for the videos. Best part of my day
Mark, I’ve been getting more serious into gardening and just built some beautiful redwood raised beds with trellises and an arbor for growing zucchini, sugar baby watermelons, cantaloupes and tomatoes vertically up coated heavy wires.
I enjoy learning from your channel and others. Growing veg successfully can be surprisingly complicated! I like how you keep things simple, cost effective and productive. Also, how your plants reseed themselves!
Humans were designed to enjoy growing delicious foods while caring for the earth and animals. Your cute friendly dog looks like a small labradoodle. I am appreciative of the endless variety of tastes, colors and scents. In our hearts we know humans were meant to stay youthful and healthy forever. When our loved ones age and lose abilities that feels wrong after their lifetime of gaining skills and knowledge.
As many have prayed, I believe the time will soon come for Gods Kingdom to begin ruling over the earth and set all things straight. Matthew 6:10; Isaiah 2:4
Gone will be greed, selfishness, violence, pollution, injustice, etc. and earth will become the paradise it was meant to be. God’s purposes were postponed but must be fulfilled at the proper time. Isaiah 55:11
Hey sir do you know about Dr David Sinclair from your neck of the woods and preventative health? You might find it interesting especially if you’re interested in investing even more into your health span. Give him a read if you have time sir
Thank you
I’m not a bot. Just a person who has learned a lot about gardening from you
Hi mate. I’m trying a new plant and I can’t wait to try in May when they can be harvested. I thought you might be interested in Yacons. The grow like sweet potatoes and they are apparently very healthy for you and good for diabetics. Apparently taste between and apple and watermelon. They are known as Ground Apple’s. Anyway I thought I would let you know just incase you haven’t heard of them. Thanks for all your videos. There’s always something you can learn from one another. 😊
Bella Hella!
Your garden never ceases to impress me. And little Bella came to you at the perfect time, whether you knew it or not. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet, and I'm glad Bella is there to help soften your grief over the loss of Scooter. She's so adorable and seems super sweet. I wish you all many happy and healthy years together!
I wish I could fly over to Australia and spend a summer with this guy helping him with his garden and just absorb every bit of knowledge I can.
Dude I live on the other side of town to Mark and I want to go volunteer with him! 😂
I know that feeling. That's why I watch as many of his videos as possible. Kinda like having a long distance friend who I can listen to any time I want. And I leave him a short thank you comment for sharing. Terrific fellow with a sharp mind and a good eye.
@@sinntax1647what state is he in?
@@sarahrose810 yo. If you don’t know that information already from watching his video than I can’t help you. ’m not divulging his information over the internet to some stranger sorry, feels like a breach of courtesy.
Bit weird
Scooter would 100% approve of Bella. He wouldn't want you to waste a drop of the love you have to give, so it's very fitting you and Nina have Bella. The winter garden is looking splendid. Thanks for the tour. I might have to find some of those little berry tomatoes for myself.
54 raised beds? I think I can tell hubby that we can do better than 20 now, he’ll be thrilled 😆
I thought I had a lot with nearly twenty lol, it becomes a life style for sure
I would like to put in 20 beds but my wife actually wants the yard for recreational uses.
@@stanwolenski9541 I mean that’s kind of sad, how much do entertain over needing to eat?? You could do both with proper planning and compromise. But to each their own.
@@Chrysaphius86 It could be sad but I do understand her point. Summers here are typically hot with the later part of the fall and early spring being died and gone to heaven weather. The winters are mild with snow and ice a rarity. She would like to have a covered, screened in, “summer” kitchen. Although the yard is quite large it would handle maybe 15 raised beds comfortably. According to her I would like to have 40 acres and a mule for my garden. She’s right about the 40 acres but wrong about the mule, the mule wouldn’t be able to climb into raised beds.
I remind mine that the more beds I have, the less lawn there is to mow. Works great. 😂
As much as I loved the garden tour I loved seeing Bella more. I’m so glad you and Nina took her. I don’t think it’s too soon after Scooter, dogs don’t replace other dogs, they just fill a void in our in our lives and as part of our families when they are missing. She will be a new part of the family to love just like Scooter was.
Perfectly said. 💖🤗
Yes
The garden is beautiful and so happy Bella has become a new member of your family, wishing you many years of fluffy love, she has got the best parents a fluffy baby could ask for. ❤️
And props for protecting the health of your in-laws! Of course Bella means no harm zooming around their feet, but it's a good call that they love each other from afar. Wishing Bella a happy puppyhood!
The longer video was a great surprise. Even greater was to see you back in a cheerful mood; I'm certain Bella played a role. It's never too soon to adopt a cutie like her.
I love that you let us see the plants as they grow, no super touch up before we see it! Dogs always come into your life when you need them, so there is never a too soon. You are just respecting the magic of dog companionship!
54! Insane. Looks like I need to install a few more...
LOL same. I have two beds total. haha
We are expanding and making more raised beds
How many do you have, Eric??!
I wondered how you found enough hours in the day to keep up with all the expansions; love your approach to letting plants feed pollinators and then self-seeding. Looking forward to the results of your olla watering system, and appreciate how you still experiment with new ideas while efficiently managing the productivity of the rest of your garden.
I think your garden IS beautiful. Bella is adorable.
Gosh Mark!
Isn't it AMAZING at how a garden grows in size over the years!
Just like plants grow in size,
SO DO THE GARDEN SPACES!!
Back when you installed your very first Birdies Beds, did you EVER imagine you would have 57 of them??!!!
PLUS - MORE TO COME!!!
Haaa!!
I bet not!
Your space is incredible!! ❤
Its never "too soon" to share love.😘
Love the gardens, but love the pups too! Love you guys too! 💖 Thanks for sharing.💞
Your garden has grown so much over the years!!
Doubles with each extra million subs. 😉
Bella is a perfect fit. Sometimes, the universe knows what is needed. ❤❤❤
It always amazes me, the sheer variety of foods you can grow. Great tour, and lovely intro to Bella. As sad as it is to lose a loved pup, our hearts have infinite capacity.
G'day Mark.
I knew you had a lot of raised garden beds, but 62! Epic! Really like that watering system and oh boy I'd love a freeze dryer with all the growing and preserving I do here. Love my canning and dehydrating, but freeze drying would be sensational. Bella is a cutie and I'm sure you'll all have great times ahead.
All the best.
Daz.
"Life is what happens on the way to our plans" . . .and Bella is a great puppy and I can imagine your in-laws enjoying visits. Your gardens give you amazing bounty for all your work. I envy you all those nasturtiums --- delicious to eat, but also so beautiful. And all those great, fresh veggies--- great!
My gosh Mark, what an awesome tour! I really like the new space where the banana trees were. I hope we get to see it once you have it established. I think Bella is a great addition as well... she sure is a QT pie! It is hard to get a new fur baby, when the loss is so recent, but I think it helps with the mourning process greatly. Cheers, and thank you for letting us in to your lovely garden!
Wonderful garden tour, thank you Mark. Bella is just adorable ❤️
I think we can all say that we miss Scooter, and yet, we can all look forward to seeing all of Bella's future adventures. Thank you Mark for all the knowledge!
I don't think there is such a thing as "too soon". No matter when you get a puppy, they bring joy, and that joy is even more important in times of grief. I've mourned several dogs recently, some I still mourn regularly. The dogs I still have, especially the youngster, bring you light and love and joy in those sad times. Rest in peace Scooter, I have no doubt he sent Bella to you, wanting to bring you joy and happiness
this is the guy at the gardening store who knows the difference between the 13 different soils. Beautiful garden mate.
Too soon? Well there's nothing wrong with caring for a pup who makes you smile while still allowing yourselves to grieve your loss. Welcome Bella... Beautiful pup
Mark, the garden is beautiful, Bella is beautiful. Bella is not replacing, she is an addition. Just like the garden beds, then God willing for you and Ms. Nina- grands...We never replace anything, we just continue the story- on we go, adding and subtracting, but always moving forward. Say hi to Ms. Nina for me. 😊
It is NEVER too soon to give LOVE.... What a gorgeous tribute to who past xox
Mark you make my day! Thanks for doing all that for us. It's all so amazing and productive and what any good Gardner would want! Wonderful 😅
Welcome sweet Bella, what a Bute!! 😅 Like THE DOG WHISPERER CESAR MILAN SAYS, "YOU MAY NOT GET THE DOG YOU WANT, BUT YOU ALWAYS GET THE DOG YOU NEED!!! Be the pack leader your dog needs.♥️
Have a great day!
i would love to see you live off of your garden for a whole year. that would be amazing. the video would probably get millions of views
my wife is obsessed with your channel, our back yard has become a fruit and veg forest.. thank u so much ❤ 🇿🇦🇿🇼
Its never to soon to give a dog a good home, even if you lost a dog not long ago....
Scooter will be happy in heaven looking down on his yard and boss being protected by another loving puppy...
I'm 44 yr old with Fibromyalgia and other health issues now raising an italian greyhound puppy. We also have a 5 yr old mini schnauzer and my husband is now retired so raising a pup is a little easier on me now. As much as I love animals, I think these will be the last dogs I own because I can't see myself doing this again when they pass away. Raising a puppy properly is hard and stressful.
You will always grieve Scooter. I still grieve over all the animals that I have lost since I was a child. They all hold a special place in your heart and it always hurts. I'm glad you guys are sharing that love with Bella now. She's a beauty and she's going to be your gardening partner from here on. Enjoy her. God bless.
Awweee, she's a cutie, Mark. Soon she will be eating lemons and berries and helping you plant your garden :) You did good with the raised beds...love it. A nice save on your back. I enjoyed the garden tour. Cheers, my friend :)
🎉 ❤ Welcome Bella! Best Wishes to Doug that he isn't hurt from the fall.
Your garden is just so lovely and productive, even in winter.
Your garden is amazing, as always! Always love your tours to see what new set-ups, equipment, and plants you have. Keeps me excited to garden. I am sitting here by myself clapping every time I hear "Let's get into it"
Gonna have to plan to watch this another time so i can sit and watch the whole thing!!
When I lost my last dog, I was like you, grieving. When a friend told me that the best way to fill a void in your life is to fill it with something new. That has stuck with me and, 8years later, and 8 years older, my current dog - a rescue- has been living with me and bringing me pleasure. Nadia, my dog, is starting to get on now and I'm not sure how much time we have left together but, when the time comes, I will keep the idea of "filling that void" in mind....
Bella is lovely. It was meant to be. We had a Maine Coon who we loved dearly. Sadly he was battling health issues at age 13 and slept alot. One day a happy beautiful filthy dirty kitten ran down a driveway in front of our car as happy and energetic as a wiggly puppy. The home he came from was as filthy as he was so we took him away with us to a better life and he (Max) has been one of the most delightful pets we could have. Sadly our Maine Coon Andy, got worse and passed away shortly after we found Max. He has helped ease the pain of losing our beloved Maine Coon. You are so right about the having a young pet join the family later in life. What a gift they are though! Enjoy Bella! She’s a beauty, just like your garden. TFS ❤ from America.
Mark- thanks to you, and your channel, we're now in the middle of replacing our old wooden beds with all new fancy Birdies. We're in Scotland and they weren't easy to get-but we're now the proud owners of three, and about to order another 2. What a pleasure they are to have compared to the old ones. A lot easier on the back. As for Bella- that was fate. She was meant to be yours :-) I'm so happy for you and the family. We lost our boy in April, and I'm fighting the broodiness for the moment, but I know I'll give in. She's beautiful-what a joy! Thank you for a brilliant video.
Beloved i just cant get enough of this channel
You and Nina so fill my heart with joy, by opening your hearts and home to little Bella..... R.I.P, beloved Scooter......,.You have a glorious garden you inspire me.
The puppy is gorgeous and she’s so fun…. Great garden and she will be great at helping in the garden
Awe ❤, I love your Bella Story! My in-laws are in their mid 80’s, and have a dog.. that has caused falls. Such great companions for those seniors, but the danger of falling is real.
Meant to be! She’s beautiful and the love and healing you need. Scooter will always be in your hearts!
Welcome, Bella!!! It's amazing how quickly your heart can open up to another animal. We went through this 11 years ago, when my mother died in January 2012 and then in March we had to put down our last dog. We "thought" we'd wait a year for our next Akita.... Ha Ha said the Dog Gods. By April we had Risky, who was no risk at all! Suddenly, our home was filled with Light, Love and Laughter again 💕💕💕
How wonderful that your in-laws will still have Bella in their lives!
It's never too soon to share love. It doesn't take anything away from those we loved before.
Bella is a blessing in disguise. I'm sorry for your loss. Bella knows her job is to help you grieve. onwards and upwards ❤
with that gorgeous yard a wee pup couldnt bother you much she is adoreable!
Hi Mark, wanted to say thank you for the videos. Got me to make my first garden this year. I've gotten a few tomato and bell pepper plants this year. Love it :D.
What a sweet, new friend!! I'm SO GLAD you guy's have her. Definitely true, having a puppy is like having another child 😂. Really the best of both world's for your in-laws. They still get to see Bella and also know she has a great new home with people that will love her. I hope your father in law is not hurt from the fall. The garden looks wonderful!! About another month we will be going into fall and you will have spring. I love to see your garden growing and thriving while ours are dormant. You give us something to look forward to!! Have a lovely day.
I just found your channel and I love it! Bella is too precious to not bring home. She is helping the grieving process in such a beautiful way! God bless you all!
I got my new dog a month after I lost my previous one. Best thing I ever did. They certainly get you out of that dark period. I couldn't love him more
Bella is just like her name - Beautiful. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and maybe her middle name could be Boomerang!! ❤❤❤
It's never too soon to get another dog, or cat, and nothing will heal your heart and soul faster.
So happy that she came into your lives when she did. You need her - she needed you all - and all is as it is meant to be.
Writing this with my lovely Truffle kitty girl in my lap. She gave me a scare, by not coming home last night or this morning, after which we had a big thunderstorm move through - but, shortly after the storm, I walked onto the back porch, and she was there, more than ready to come inside.
💞💞💞
Animals are the best. Lovely friends and companions.
Wow just the inspiration I needed.. I got one raised bed but this is the ultimate dream
You have a food jungle! You have done a super job on your garden....
"!So Let's Get Into It!!!" YeaH!
Mark, I really felt compelled to let you know that I’ve been watching your show for a couple of years now. I really resonated with your story, being a daughter of a vet affected by PTSD (undiagnosed until he was 80!) and my son who left the army with PTSD also. I myself have suffered from depression, anxiety and PTSD, and also diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. Gardening has been the thing that saved me and got me through, something about touching the dirt I reckon, which is why I never wear gloves or shoes when I’m out there. I have massive garden envy watching your show (I only have the classic kiwi quarter acre 😂) and after watching your bee video, I’m already conjuring ideas on how I might make it happen. I just wanted to let you know what an awesome channel you have, and I wish you, Nina and the kids all the best.
It's never too soon when there's room in your heart to love again. Loving Bella won't invalidate or diminish your love for Scooter.
At 6:20 or so ... this is my fifth year with a backyard garden. Each year i experiment with new ways to grow etc. One thing i had done, more through laziness than actively giving back to nature was to allow many plants to go to seed specifically to give back to nature. Such a grounded way of looking at things ... i will now be growing my garden with that being my new attitude. I shall teach this to my almost 2 year old granddaughter and her baby sister, who is set to be born in approximately 6 months, or around late January 2024.
Wonderful tour. Always good to see another's garden set up. And Bella is beautiful.
2 Cameras! 2 Stoked! Love your energy!
Thank you so much for this truly inspirational update. I'm just down over the border from you in Northern NSW. Off the back of watching this clip last night, I have just spent the morning elbow-deep in manure & topsoil, planted a whole heap of new seedings & mulched my beds down. Cheers Mark.
When we got our dog, I wanted to name her Bella. I was told no, because there were 3 other Bellas in the family. I chose Izzibella, and we call her Izzi. We also lost our older dogs and it was tough, but it was the best decision we ever made. Our Izzi acts like your Bella! Same body language, love, hyperness, etc. Bless you all for having a complete family again. ❤
Losing a pet is so devastating.
I lost my sweet Abby several months ago. She was 15 years old. I got her when she was only 5 weeks old. She was a Border Collie, and my best friend. I will always cherish my time with her.
We did get 2 new small dogs after that. They can’t ever take Abby’s place, but they do keep me busy and bring me joy. They have earned their own place in my heart. I’m very blessed to have SweetPea and Natalie.
Best wishes and blessings to your new addition, and blessed memories of the sweet one that has passed. Thank you for sharing your story.
Overflow of leeks, love your work 👍🏼
Losing a pet is difficult, but I feel you can honor your friend and get comfort and joy from a new pet. God decided you needed a new pet to do just that. My condolences on your loss and celebrate with you on the new puppy. Sent from Indiana, USA. Love the videos.
Never too early to love another animal.
The winter garden is fantastic. I want to share that I appreciated your words so much about your loss of Scooter because I will soon be faced with the loss of my aging companion cat whom I love and adore so much. Is it too soon for Bella? No way is it too soon!! All animals need loving and safe homes so they can be loved and taken care of, so it is a blessing that she has you and your wife and you now have her.
So glad you got Bella, her love for life will help, eventually fill the void left by Scooter. Best wishes.
Bella bella beautifull bella beautifull belllla. I am weeping PROFUSELY!!!! hahahahhaa, so good!!!! Love it
I wish he was my next door neighbor! I smile every time I see his videos!
I've had a hard life, & I've been angry. Thanks for your videos, you have brought me great joy. Peace to your family & doggie
Bella is a little cutie pie! I’ll never forget Scooter, the toad liking dog ! I laughed so hard a couple years ago watching that look on his face, high on whatever that toad extracted from its skin ! I miss him on your videos. Always love them and learn so much ! Thank You !!
Gardening is therapy for the soul - it's so calming and fulfilling! 🌿💕
Congratulations on the new puppy!!
I'm sure she's very healing to the family!
Just adorable!! ❤❤❤
Bella is adorable and I was enjoy and learn from your videos! I will share something I read once.
#Dogs come into out lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog. It merely expands the heart.”
mark so happy with his multiple angles
You know, Bella was meant to be with you guys!
Been watching you for years and enjoy each video! Amazing how many beds eventually add up after some time.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful outcome of years of hard work and creativity.
I love the volunteer plants. Such a wonderful surprise in the garden.
And congrats on the new family member, Bella. 💕💕💕
the overhead visual is wonderful. it shows us we can do alot with just a bit of land with the right techniques.
I have found pets are like children as in your heart can love many at once and just because you are mourning the loss of one doesn't mean your heart doesn't have room for others. ❤
Thank you for doing this video!! This is fantastic❤
Hey Mark! Bella is awesome! I cant wait to see her in all your videos
Having the new puppy will help fill the empty space left by your beloved dog. But won't replace him. U will still grieve but still have love to give her!
Amazing tour of the garden and congratulations on Bella 😍
Great morning coffee time watching this video. I love your garden walks and seeing how you incorporate plants together and let them do their thing - grow food.
Nothing makes me want to move to qld more than your winter garden videos.
I think Scooter would be happy that you adopted Bella.
Another great video Mark! Maybe with that smaller ginger you could freeze dry it and powder it ?
Bella is adorable and I’m sure she’ll become a great help in the garden
Fabulous ~ Thank you ~ Bless Scooters soul and much Love to you, Nina and Bella and the Whole Family♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Australia is the real promiced land, you can grow so much in the middle of the winter, in the north only the coniferous forest remains green. Now I envy you
Congratulations on your new Pup. Scooter will never be forgotten but the little one eases the pain.
Ooooohhhhhhh Bella is so adorable!! I just love those little poodles, they are the best dogs!
You can freeze dry the nasturtium leaves and flowers. They make a great pain tincture or tea.😀 I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you!
I'm amazed that you can walk out and still pick tomatoes in the middle of your winter! What are your temperatures like there during this season? Even your summer squash looks unaffected by cooler temperatures. Thanks for the tour, and it was so nice to meet Bella! I'm sure Scooter had something to do with her moving into your lives at this particular time.
Queensland is sub-tropical, Mark is in the Sunshine coast area, about 2hours north of Brisbane.
Winter is from about 18C -24C during the day. Nights can get down to single digits. Fairly mild climate.
Scooter sent Bella to be with you. That was a gift from him🙏🏻🙏🏻. It was meant to be
I got my Max a month after my sweet pup Hitch passed. I decided to foster Max. Who was i kidding? I kept him and added another pup Dani almost 7 months later. Sometimes the situation comes up and helping the pup feels good and helps heal the heart. Don’t feel bad.
In going on year three since I lost my mate Dave The Angry Black Poodle. You never stop missing them, it hurts forever. I have so far been unable to convince the wife that we need a new dog. Enjoy her Mark, they are nothing but love these dogs in our lives, even one's cal Dave The Angry BlackPoodle.
dame what a awesome garden you have
as long as both you, your wife and bella is happy and that then there isn´t to soon
My dream thank you.. hopefully one day soon..
