Sir, I'm an old 71 year old native tonkawa nation from texas once we were a proud nation but that is gone now , but when i saw your video your passion in carving the old cheif you brought out the sadness in his eyes and that sir is talent you honor my people, and to me that walking stick is a relic do you sell your art , for i would walk proudly with that stick especially in our powwows for our people to see thank you so much for your video and chanel, and may you have many years more so that you can continue bringing joy to people !!!
I am sure that if Chief Joseph were alive today, he would be very proud and honored that you made him the subject of one of your beautiful pieces! And in such a naturally appealing wood!
Thank you very much Robert! The story of Chief Joseph and his family having to leave the Wallowa Valley has always made me feel sorry for them! He did everything he could to avoid conflict!
Yes, he put the lives in his charges before personal glory, he was indeed a great leader. A lot of people don't realize what a great cavalry the Nez-Perce had, they don't get the credit the Comanche got.
Whew, I was a little worried because I didn't see Pearl, very relived at the end. Also, what a beautiful carving of a great American Chief. Give my best to Pearl and God bless.
i love this guy!!! i suffer from anxiety and this is not a joke but every time im a bit sad or stresses about something i watch his videos because they calm me down... god bless you and your family.
Justin, I'm with you on this one 100%. I suffer from anxiety as well and I also feel very relaxed, not only with the video but his voice is soothing as well.
Wow!!! You are insane, by that I mean insanely talented. It is hard for most carvers to get the features of a man versus a woman’s face so that they can be easily distinguishable. Yet you can tell without a doubt the race of a person. This Native American carving is really something to behold. I love the snakes and other critters but this carving really grabbed me. Take a bow, we are all applauding.
Wow. If I didnt know any better I'd say that was a ruby carving! That wood is beautiful and it complements well with your astonishing artwork. I cant wait to see more!
My wife is in love with pearl. She was sad she didn't get to see a long video of the forest wandering you do with pearl in this one. Your videos with the relaxing music, pearl and the carving in detail are the best. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. McNeley! I'm glad you enjoy Pearl and my adventures together. I'll be putting up our adventures separately from now on. So stay tuned for more Pearl. : ) and We''ll see you on the next one!
I can't even think of any words that could express how much I look forward to seeing your carvings and videos and how you present yourself as a person and a true Master Artist / Craftsmanship. Please keep them coming, and should I and the wife ever find ourselves in your neck of the woods it would be a honor to meet you.
This is beautiful Mike , being part Cherokee I am so proud to see you honor our American Cheifs . Thank you my brother . Since I have been watching your videos I have started making canes again and enjoying it more and more . Keep them videos coming , often imitated never duplicated .
Another excellent carving Mike. I love all kind of nature and I love the Native Americans (Indians) My great grandparents were Cherokee Indian and I just love and adore the pieces you carve Mike Brady
Most beautiful piece of carving sir you are a amazing person to watch the detail of your work is unique to you and I can watch your videos over and over again thank you for your talent and God bless you and your family look forward to the next one thank you Brian
I have been using a lathe to make wooden eggs out of juniper lately. I do wood burned scenes on them, and your work inspires me to take it slow and really devote to my art. A masterpiece once again.
Love my Cherokee roots! Thank you!! You're such an inspiration to me and many other! You should put Native music like that in the background in all of your videos!
Hallo, Mike, (^_^) That certainly was a gorgeous carving of the old chief you did on that red cedar. It even looked beautiful without the polyurethane coating. I hope to see more of these as time goes by. Well, I certainly hope you enjoy your weekend. May God bless you and your family richly. Kind regards. Liz.
Witaling has become a forgotten passtime. Sir it's the works of art and passion you put into these works of art that myself and others are thankful for. Ty. God bless you
This looks so beautiful!, I'm just 15 and I started my first carving project just over a week ago (I've always loved working with wood). It is chipmunk on a branche inspired by the one on your made on a walking stick, and I can't thank you enough to make these video's and inspire me because my work is turning out great thanks to you looking forward to the next one!!👍👍
as always Mike your attention to detail is truly inspiring. and as a side note my great-uncle was raised with Joseph as a boy. they had a ranch next to his tribal lands in the Willamette.
Stinnett Sticks according to my great aunts diary when Joseph died he was secretly buried on their Ranch in the Willamette and not in nespelem. when my aunt died the ranch was donated to Oregon to be forever a state park
In awe.... so beautiful. Great work. I myself have limited experience with art, just finished my first sculpture of a 6 ft dragon. Next on my list is a cigar store indian, chief red cloud. Thank you for the inspiration.
Mike you never cease to amaze me with the variety of different projects you will tackle, Red Cedar now, and a likeness that would be very hard to beat, the Chief would be proud, as you should be , well done once again, can`t wait for the next one, as do all my friends who I have told about your wonderful works, regards from John.
You sir are an amazing artist, I’ve become hooked on watching your videos. I showed my daughter one of your walking sticks with a snake on it and she was convinced it was a real snake. Keep up the awesome work!
Good afternoon my friend! how are you? I hope everything is fine with you and your family. I just saw the video in which you carve an Indian, it was very good. The details were perfect. Thank you, John. Well, you know, it's not easy. I struggled with this one, a lot before I even started carving it. It always makes me really nervous when I make those first few cuts.

Thank you, Kenny! I do enjoy working with the Redcedar. It's such a beautiful wood.
Fantastic. Congratulations. Achievements. Excellent.
Thank you much, Deniz!
Mike you blow my mind every time. Your work is just so amazing & awe inspiring it makes me want to put in the hours even to be able to carve a 10th as good as you would make me happy beyond belief. I have most of the tools I need besides a few essential pieces but this is what I want to do so bad. I have always painted & drew & done little sculptures in clay & stuff but Im new to carving wood more or less. I also have tagua nuts & am going to get some soapstone & other bits of material. I have a load of great salvaged wood for making cigar box type guitars. I currently have severe health problems from 20 + years of daily heavy drinking so need to focus on healthy pursuits instead while trying to heal. This is just the type of endeavour I need to focus on. Not too strenuous & so rewarding to the soul. Im only 42 so I reckon if I live a long life ( touch wood ) by the time I hit 62 I might just be a 10th as good as you. Ha! Godspeed sir & all the best to you & your family. Give Pearl a treat for me. ;) Much respect from Liverpool U.K. Amazing work again man. Just exceptional work. True works of art. I may save up & commission a piece from you sometime as it would be money well spent. Thank you. ;)
Your work is amazing
Thank you, Reese!
Beautiful work, you make it look so easy.
Thank you, John. Well, you know, it's not easy. I struggled with this one, a lot before I even started carving it. It always makes me really nervous when I make those first few cuts.
Another masterpiece. You have inspired me to take up wood carving, its so relaxing. Can't wait for the next video. All the best Ian.
Thank you, Ian! I'm glad that you are inspired and I hope you have a lot of fun carving!
That's a winner right there ! Do you have a tutorial for Indian style Cains?Or perhaps a class on line for carving??
Thank you, Ron! I don't have a tutorial for it because it was the first time I made one like it, and I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Haha!
Superb detail, especially the face - outstanding!
Well done Mike, take care, Dave
👍🍺
