My sister is disabled/ has an limp since she was born,but our family don't think her as an embarrassment they rather are really proud of her since she is an athlete,if you're wondering how she's an athlete even tho she's disabled/has an limp,she really loved swimming and took an expert's help to learn how to swim and now 5 years ago she won an national competition of swimming and has 300+ medals! In our school every student and teachers respect her since she very kind and talented!she probably has more friends than me. I feel enraged to see people being disgusted by disabled and deaf or another special need person!

This is so beautiful! Thank you so much! My own first language was sign language, and the world definitely treats you differently. I can hear, now, after 2 ear surgeries. There are still tones and pitches that i cant hear at all, and extremely loud sounds are difficult to bear. I still use sign language in my everyday life, and my children use it also. Self-acceptance is a long process, and made even more difficult by a society that sees people with disabilities as someone to discourage, rather than cherish.
