Telling stories I my official job (I wish) As much as I want to show people how to draw things, I want them to use their imagination if they want to, give them the keys to build around these simple drawings
Love this one! Such a cool drawing! I’ve always loved looking at city maps! So cool to see this come out of thin air! ✨ Ha, because I film my videos in 8K (so I can zoom in really close on ingredients) my camera overheats after about a half hour too, so I have to run back and forth and shut all my cameras off in between steps to make sure I don’t let it get hot 😅 The struggle is real! Love the little bit of lore you brought to this too, with the “older” and “newer” parts of the city!
@@D3troisVarietyChannel I’ve been so behind on videos and comments, so sorry! Yeah, I usually clap at the start of each video clip. That way I can line up the audio, and then I’ll also look at each video and try to further sync them up by the exact frame my hands touch 😂 It works pretty well 🤷🏻♂️
It's hard to say, most of the time it is random. Often, before filming a video I will take a notepad or post-it and scribble a pattern on it. Depending on what it is, I will try to change a thing or two, tweak it, such as the spacing, the width etc. Sometimes a similar pattern with a different pen will give a different result. Most of the time it is just a question of what feels good in the hand and wrist. For this video though I definitely tried to make a map, so it's a bit different, I already knewwhat I wanted. Even though you don't see it in the videos, I almost always make a quick scribble on a sketching pad before I decide if the pattern is worth it. You have no idea how many pages of scribbles that never made it to video I have aha
@RikThunder33 oh yeah I definitely sketched this one first, to make the various neighborhoods and the river outline. I don't sketch the abstract patterns but I almost always sketch when I want to represent something clear. Although I didn't sketch the buildings individually for this one

I love the thought put into the difference between the older and newer parts, its those small touches that can help tell a story

By all means, do add it. Please reference me properly if you use it on the internet though

Do you usually sync your cameras? And if so what trick do you use for that? Even with only 2 or 3 I struggle to make them coincide well

I usually use a broken lighter and look for the frame with the spark but half the time the spark doesn't show...
@@D3troisVarietyChannel Ah haha, yeah probably best to do something more obvious 😅 it gets cut out of the video anyway 🤷🏻♂️
True, but still haven't find the most efficient way aha
I'll try the clap, or find something that's obvious
This map turned out so cool!!! I tried drawing a map a LONG time ago and it ended up just being a few squiggles with some words on it 😬
I should redo a map
How do you protect your wrist?
I make sure I keep my joints flexible. I do wrist rotations before drawing, and I also take breaks often.
I have no idea how you are deciding on what to draw onto the paper its clearly not just random shapes sometimes.

@@D3troisVarietyChannel hehe. I did notice slight barely visible lines on the paper in the middle of the video. Yeah alright. Thank you.
