Frost River Summit Boulder Junction Canvas Pack

Another addition to my traditional kit and something i have wanted for a very long time, a waxed canvas and leather pack.
There are plenty available from some very well known makers but this one caught my eye wit a pretty unique design.

The problem is that middle brass ring in the middle of the back that hold the straps, makes the pack ride low on your back and create strain on the shoulders. I’m not sure why Frost River keeps doing this, the traditional ones are much better.

They could make a lot of changes for the better but their pack (and their website) remains the same year after year

Nice, classic look, but I'd really miss side pouches for water bottles, etc., and a waist belt.

I'm not really into packs that don't have side water bottle pockets.
