Thanks for the review and opening. We have the 949I and for two of us it’s plenty comfortable but when my daughter and son in law go it’s a bit tight and this automatically caught my attention. Eskimo customer but this looks amazing!
I think it's cool that they include so many ice anchors and all the straps for the hub. The holes for propane are a nice touch as well. I'm sure it'll be a great tent for what you want. I had the 850xd last year and loved it. It was just too much tent. I realized I do 95% of my fishing alone or with my 2 year old. He's great at shoveling snow not so much with set up or take down. I ended up selling it and grabbing a 450xd on a really good sale and strikemaster 10 inch 40v auger. It definitely didn't come with all the straps or anchors you'd need. Great tent though. Now I'm debating about getting a flip over for most of my trips and selling the 450xd for a 650xd when my friends come or I take my nieces out. And that'd be big enough for me for overnights.
I just ordered mine. My hope is that it can fit two cabela outfitter xl cots, a table and still have plenty of room to fish. Last year was rough with 2 of us camping on cold lake in an uninsulated 7x7 clam tent.
Curious how you found the warmth of you've had cold weather yet between this and the Eskimo? Also did you find the window placements annoying compared to Eskimo on how there are only 2 at eye level when sitting in the tent so you can't check out tip ups in all directions like the Eskimo? Awesome vid though, keep it up!
Hey man! Wondering if the 91” wide on otter’s floor plan is really at the floor, or are they counting the bump outs in the wall. Trying to see if my 88” cot can fit along the far short wall.
Good question!.. im going to have the tent setup again in my garage within the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know the measurements but already being in that tent, the interior felt like it was 91" on the short end.
These tents are not water proof. I believe they are water resistant, but I think if constant water is on the canvas it will eventually get through. We don't get much rain where we are at durring winter. Storng wind is pretty good, just as long as you tie down all the tie down points and its tight, it can get through some good winds.
Yes. You will need to use 2 big buddy heaters, but we have a plan to customize a dividing canvas wall to separate the spaces. We have a wooden floor for the sleeping side and a tarp and rubber mats for the fishing side. ill have that video this fall to show that off.

Just wanted to say thank you for the video I am in the process of upgrading and this was a huge help in the buying process

Thanks for this video. I just ordered the monster lodge and waiting for it to come in...

Nice review. I am looking at adding one of these for next season
Hi. Great channel, great product review & awesome teamwork.
order the otter anchor bit for your electric drill. It will save your wrists on the ice. It is a must well worth the 30 bucks.
Great review !
Great video. I have the new resort and I love it
Pretty soon you might as well put wheels and a hitch on the tent and tow them on to the lake

May I know the propane heater you are using to heat that up?
I will be using a big buddy heater. We have not tried out the tent on the ice just yet. But we will update when we do.
I’ve never used these type tents. How do they do in rain and high winds? Are they water proof?

Do you think it's going to be tough to heat all of this space when it gets down to -20c or so?

My monster lodge is coming in the mail today.. I also ordered a diesel heater 8kw 27k btu hoping that will heat it
