    Your video has come at a very good . I am just awaiting delivery of my Lectrik Xp Lite next week . After already watching many videos in the bike I have to say your video is among the best . You explain everything in a calm well thought out way including aspects and features that would be important to me - a similar age group to yourselves . Thank you again for a stellar bike tutorial. Greetings from Canada

    I love Gray's Lake! It hooks up with some other trails, too. I was taking a break there one day while riding my bike on a perfect weather day. There was a kid's sailing lesson going on that was the cutest thing ever. Every kid had their own sailboat and it was fun to just sit in the sun with a nice breeze and enjoy their lesson.

    Thank you for this video. We are seriously considering purchasing at least one e-bike, possibly two, so I appreciate your review and honest opinions of what you have experience with. I also want to add that it was helpful that you stated right away that this video would be a review. For those who consider this a "commercial", they have the option to immediately switch to something else, with no need to complain about it. For me, I watched every minute, and will have my husband do the same. Thanks again for all your videos. I look forward to seeing them every Saturday morning with my breakfast. Oh, I wanted to add that being a female of similar age, I REALLY appreciate hearing Michelle's opinion/views on everything regarding your current lifestyle. Her comments about where you store the dirty laundry and curling iron in the new van, made me laugh, but yes, I need to know that sort of thing. Take care.

    Glad you like them! We have the Lectric XP 2.0 step thru’s and love them. They take some concentration so you don’t hurt yourself and I had a motorcycle years ago that I didn’t think twice about! It’s not a bike and it’s not a motorcycle. And I don’t think as fast the older I get, so really understanding the ins and outs is key! Grey’s lake looks like a great place to ride and will have to check that out! Enjoy and be safe! 🚴

    We are not affiliates and we have the original Lectric models. We have found the company to always be immediately responsive to us whenever we have called with a question. Our bikes weigh 68 lbs, so I think we’d enjoy the lighter bikes...maybe one day. You’re right, ours will go up to 28 mph and that’s plenty of speed. I like the “slime” yours has even though we’ve never had a flat. I hope you continue to enjoy them. Love you guys. Always wear a helmet! From SC, Jane ❤️🙏🏻

    Enjoy your new e bikes. My wife and I have folding e bikes. We use them around the community and when traveling. When we travel we fold them, place them individually in large containers which have wheels and place them in the trailer with the motorcycles. As noted with gas prices being as high as they are I purchased a small trailer to pull behind either of the bikes.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We did the same thing when we had the truck and Airstream, we folded them and put them in Commander tubs in the back of the truck. Something we can’t do with the van, but it always bothered us of how much space they took in the back of our truck. Gotta do what works best. 👍🏻😊🤓

      @@LivinRVision With the motorcycle trailer, I have the motorcycles inside enough that there's room behind them to roll the totes with the ebikes into the trailer and secure them. Would be pain to lift them into and out of something, but having said that when my wife and I were at the Grand Canyon last year I lifted the totes onto the Diamondback Cover on my truck and secured them there.

    Great review. We really like our ebikes but have the same issues you had with you old bikes. We thought we would love the fat tires but discovered we don't like riding in sand. They fold but still take up more room that we would like them to. Also, the paint scratches where they fold, so we put cloths around those areas, which isn't a great fix. They are heavy so we find we just don't want to bother getting them out and set up to ride so now we have bikes that require so much work that we end up not bothering to use them.

    We have two original versions of the step thru frame Lectric EBikes and couldn’t love them more! Easy for the wife’s knee replacement to mount and dismount. You’re spot on about Lectric customer service, it’s the same as customer service USED to be and SHOULD be with all companies. We did add the comfort package. Look into Swagman EBike racks. They support the weight and take the hard bouncing of RV driving.

    We have two Rad Minis, Step Through and have been very happy with them. We are in our late 60's so the Step Through Frame is extremely beneficial for ease of use and improved safety! I also noticed you use the 1UP Bike Rack, which we also have, great Rack! One of the advantages, that we like with the Rad Mini, besides their great Service, is the ability to easily remove the Battery without having to fold the frame. We alway remove the batteries, when the bikes are on the Bike Rack to save the 8 lbs each. This not only makes them a little easier to put on the Bike Rack, but more importantly improves the Weight Distribution of our Van, by moving the 16 lbs (2 Batt) further forward inside the Van. Additionally, we believe this also make them less attractive to steal.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our old Rattan ebikes had the batteries on the outside also, but we personally like them in the frame better. Our Rattans could not be in the rain. The Lectric being 20 lbs lighter is lighter than the Rattan was when removing the batteries. Gotta do what works best for you, but for us these work much better.

    I used to purchase equipment for hospital and one technique I learned early on was after I had decided on a product to purchase I would then call the service repair department of that company with a fictitious problem and see how long and how accurately the problem was corrected. If you're looking to buy a bike that's going to cost over $1,000 it would be worth taking a few minutes out of your day to call the company and tell them you purchased this bike and it doesn't start up, accelerate, display etc and see what kind of support they offer. You can always tell them that everything started working perfectly and thank you for your time and no problems. If you try to call the company day after day and can't even get a human being on the phone or unable to get them to return your call and I certainly would not send them $1,000 and hope for the best.

      Using the brake also works to disengage, but the point we were making is that it is dangerous because it is easy to forget sometimes. It’s something that we don’t have to worry about with our current ebikes.

    We have the original Lectric bikes. I like the rack and fenders they came with. If I added them back and got the new version you have, that 20 lb would probably be added right back on. Negating the advantage.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t think those would total 20lbs, but you would of course be adding weight adding anything extra. The fender would get in the way with our bike rack, but we chose the rack because of it’s durability and how it works with any bike…thinking for future possible bikes. It’s made by OneUP

    I will say that if this is your first time riding an e-bike go slow until you get the hang of it. And don’t think you can ride up a steep incline. I made the mistake of doing that and lost the momentum and ended falling. Luckily no harm done. Definitely wear a bike helmet!

      Better yet, buy a more refined brand that has the “pedelec” (no throttle) feature more refined. With no throttle you get far more exercise yet the eBike is far cheaper due to its simplicity. Its the wave of the future. As with solar panels, you can always buy something cheaper yet is often does not work out well in the long term

    hello Brian and Michelle!! Thank you for this great review!! We are slowly looking at ebikes. I have test road these Lectrics, Juiced Bikes, Rad Bikes, and elux. Heather has only been on the Elux, which has been our favorite so far. But, they are substantially more pricey. Hopefully I can get her on these with me on a trip to Phoenix. The others are in SoCal.
    I was just by that park today. Dang it...I should have seen if you two where there in Des Moines. Our plane wasn't fixed, so I just airlined and will return on Wednesday evening.
    Oh...we do have a criteria for an ebike. It needs to be able to go the 10 miles from Ouray to Ridgway, which is also a 1000 foot elevation drop, then the 10 miles back to Ouray (a 1000ft elevation climb). I will be interested to try that Lectric Premium.
    safe travels!!

      Hi Alan!
      I’ll have to check out the Elux bikes, we haven’t heard of them.
      We just left Des Moines a few days ago. Would have been great to have seen you though.
      That would be quite the test on an eBike to see which one lasts the longest up that 1,000 ft elevation and has the power to sustain it the entire way.
      Hope to cross paths again soon!

      @@LivinRVision Hi there! Yes...we tried the E-Lux Malibu GT step through. I originally saw it on the "Our Journey with Myles" channel. It has something like a 19 or 20amp hour battery and the 750w motor. I just always envisioned that we'd want the bigger capability out here in Colorado. The downside is that they are not foldable; so they would take up a good chunk of space in the back of our pick up truck (which we do have the full size bed). Heather and I test rode these at Crazy Lenny's in Madison WI last year. It is more of a relaxed beach cruiser posture (great as Heather's wrists get sore with the traditional mountain bike geometry). I test road it again on a trip to California. I also test road it's brother, the Tahoe GT; which I think I liked better. Knowing that most of our riding would be out on forest service or BLM land roads, I felt the bigger tires would help absorb some of the bumps better on the Tahoe (at least that was my assessment from parking lot test riding over bumps and curbs). But, these are like $3200 msrp bikes :-( So, who knows what direction we will go.
      Safe travels!

    I really would consider getting this lightweight Lectric bike. I wonder though....do they sell fender attachments for the tires, because without those, every time you roll over a puddle, you're going to get muddy water splashed up at you by the tires.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They do sell them as an add on. Fenders don’t work very well with our current bike rack and we figured we would very seldom be riding them in the rain or we can easily avoid a puddle. We went with our bike rack because of its durability and versatility…it can be used with any bike, it’s just that fenders can get in the way, although some will still work. Made by OneUP.

      Just locate a place you want to mount them and use zip ties to attach them. Then when you need to change batteries, all you have to do is just clipped the zip ties, replace the batteries and put two new zip ties on. Those are extremely cheap and you get a big pack of them. About the stand under the crank that hold up the bike when folded, seems to me like it would chip paint off when being used for that. Id maybe put a couple rubber rings on them to protect it. I’m still wondering if there is any folding clamp to keep it rigid while folded. What stop the bike from folding, the pedal hitting something or is it hinged so that one side of the inside doesn’t touch the other when folded? Ive seen xp 2.0 owners put a towel in the middle to protect theirs but figured it was mainly to protect the derailleur/hanger/multigear freewheel, which the lite doesn’t have. I could be overthinking how difficult it is to move a lite around, but id end up laying it on its side while folded in a car trunk if it can handle the weight of one folded side on the other.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  ปีที่แล้ว

      We had to put a small towel between our old ebikes also just to keep it from rubbing the paint off in a couple areas. That’s when we had to fold them and put them in the tubs with the Airstream and truck. Now, but n the bike rack there is no rubbing anywhere.

      Great info. I have order ebikes. The thing you soon realize is all the materials that go into putting these bikes together are sourced from the same places. Some of them use cheaper components some better components. I suggest also looking at the components that go into putting the bike you want together as part of your decision making. Some bike companies can put together a great bike and sell it a cheaper price and still be able to make money. And some out of greed are using cheaper components, but good advertising with not a whole lot of difference in price. If you are google savey you should have no problem finding anything you need for the bike you ordered. Even if that comes from another bike seller who use the same components you need. And it not like a car that you or a handy friend can't figure out how to change out a component. So, look for the best components at the best price because there is something to be said about the feeling you received a good trade for the money you have to spend. That's called value.

    Nice bikes - I am considering one. I would suggest for you both to get good quality bike helmets and wear them when riding - may save you from a concussion or worse. Just my own free advice. Yes it is always something that an adult can decide if it is legal to ride without. Some do prefer not having the helmet. I have crashed a regular bike very accidentally and was concussed. No thank you. I always wear my helmet when I ride as does my hubby.

      We do have good bike helmets. We just chose not to wear them that day. Thanks for your suggestion and concern! 🧡

    We LOVE our electric bikes! But everyone needs to do their own research. Which e-bike is the best for one person may not be the best for the next person. My boyfriend has the RadRover 6 and I have a Pedego 24” Titanium Interceptor. We both did a LOT of research and a LOT of test rides of a minimum of 8 hours per bike. We use our bikes for commuting. We also have panniers so we can use them for grocery runs! Another consideration is transport! A rack that is RV rated for a 5th wheel to transport our e-bikes (especially my boyfriend’s that weighs almost 70 lbs) is very pricey. There is also the cost of the welding as the bumper of the 5th wheel is NOT strong enough long term. The smaller folding e-bikes, however, are not as comfortable with front suspension forks, seat suspension posts, and custom handle bars. These trade-offs may or may not be as important as space and weight!
    Regardless of which e-bike one chooses, they are so much fun! We are now riding 20-30 miles a day regularly!!

      The comfort package that we talked about in this video that are on our bikes do have the seat suspension posts.

    You gotta let the tire pressure out for sand riding and then it's a dream on sand. Skinnier tire so not help on sand

      We usually do for sand, just like with a truck. Thanks. 👍🏻

    Can Not say much for their welds though. I have a Cannondale, the difference in quality is very noticable.

      Really? We’ve not heard of anyone having any issues with a weld break on them before…Is there a difference in price too?

      @@LivinRVision I will say this, I paid more for a 7 speed manual operated Cannondale bike, than you did for the electric

    Thinking about these bikes. Just curious as far as my hubby is 6’1” and 5’ tall. Would the bike work for both of us?

      I’m guessing it would, the seat and handlebars are adjustable for different heights. 👍🏻😊🤓
