I massively prefer star rail over genshin just because I feel like star rail respects my time way more than genshin. No nightmarishly long aranara side quests, no scaling three different cliffs just to get the mats to ascend a character once and no waiting for certain specific days to farm specific mats. HSR is a game where I can choose to just do all my daily farming on auto play within 10 ish minutes while I do something else or actually sit down and do stories and missions when I have the time. So for me I guess it mostly boils down to a matter of HSR being way more convenient to play as both a uni student and working adult 😅

On the story. I feel like Star Rail got a slightly unfair shake since you've (I assume) played genshin all the way until 4.0+. As if you think back on it, Genshin story back in 1.0 was also quite "Let me tell you 20 terms that you don't know. Trust me, it will make sense later" type deal. I feel like this is a problem with ALL hoyo games though to be fair. Honkai Impact Third also has a really shit start where you end up confused, lol Music-wise, I think they both bring bangers. Genshin does have the edge for ambient music though, that is 100% true. Although, there are some WILD boss fight OSTs down the line for Star Rail that gets you so hyped it is kinda wild. Over all, I'm more a fan of Star Rail than Genshin, but I still play both. I do like that in Star Rail, even 4*s have cool animations for ults instead of just... Whatever Genshin does lol. In the end, the main reason why I prefer Star Rail though, is because they are way more giving with their reward system. HSR's turn based game mechanic means it gave me time to do something else while having the rewards. I read books, cook food and others while getting rewards, while genshin have me on keyboard every single minutes...not very good for me who have limited time to even play. Well, it's just much better than genshin. I love to live my life AND having rewards. Greedy me got a win, greedy me likes to get more...
Honkai may not have a strong hook, but they have tons of setups and payoffs. The fact it takes so long to go through the story is partially due to the fact the game is very long for an RPG, and as you progress you start to familiarize yourself with the universe you once didn't understand. You're supposed to enter blind since your character was just created, so if you knew that illusion would wear off, but I'm glad you still gave it a look!
Story is Good Characters is good animation on battles is Owow!!! But in Story i dont know how i would compare it characters in star rail is GYATT!!! ah ahem...
Honestly, much as I love turn based games, honkai just has a lot of glaring issues that are tough to get by to have fun all the way through compared to genshin, I could play with the worst units I have and still be grand
Hm, the story in both games is phenomenal. It's just very complicated. And the whole 'walk 10 miles + climb 30 mountains for a 2 primo chest'' thing is very annoying. If Genshin had Honkai's directior, it'd be in just as good of a place as Honkai is. More or less, I suppose. Fortunately, Genshin is finally copying Honkai's quality of life features. ( Late, but better than never. )
@@diamondfire21 If I could buy ascension materials or even use resin for it instead of having to go to the same 5 random cliffs (very far apart) to get that one specific flower... then likely I would still play genshin. Music is a hard one for these 2 games, genshin has a larger number of good songs but star rail has much better hits. its kinda a quality vs quantity thing
It’s funny that you mention start of stories, because if I rated the beginning of both stories, Genshin was pretty dang boring and standard, starting you off with a very simple plot in a very simple town. Compared to Star Rail that immediately sends you head first into a battlefield on a spaceship. But to each their own. The stories of Star Rail are a collection of smaller stories rather than one massively long overarching story anyway, so it’s not exactly easy to compare the two. I’d say judging the game should be done after you at LEAST complete the first world you go to. That’s the point when you pretty much left the tutorial stage.

To compare story of genshin and honkai we should try to compare early honkai vs early genshin. Like belebog from hsr compare to genshin mondstand arc. Hsr take the cake 🎂 mondstand is more accepted bc of nostalgia maybe, but i do not feel nostalgic so from a fact hsr early story is much better then genshin's story early Penecony only version 2.0 already destroyed inazuma arc or liyue arc archon quest.
I stopped playing to genshin because I've been getting less stuff instead of honkai star rail giving us free pulls while genshin impact you get no free pulls that's how sad genshin impact is now
well, this is like comparing apples to pears the games are COMPLETELY different, despite the artstyle and company being the same Honkai star rail feels more casual, you just hop on, do some stuff, quests, dailies, whatever, you log off Genshin Impact is an open world game, if you would just hop on, do some stuff and log off, it would be the most boring open world game Genshin is open, you explore and get rewarded for it, spending time is rewarded with gaining items Honkai star rail, as a streamlined RPG, cannot be full of exploration and needy of time, you want to play it casually, else it would just be Final Fantasy So, calling one better than another is... well... a stupid move, the target audience is different, besides you can play both meanwhile I'll be playing Honkai Impact 3rd
The story and music on the video where rated too early bro it makes looks like an lazy review could have done it a way more later.(like completing belobog history or making all the way till the newest story chapters) *Penacony* Now Imp White knight,Cocolia boss musics>genshin musics
I could give the music to genshin but you lost me at genshin story is better. The only interesting thing about the beginning of genshin was the opening cutscene. Aether little narration, running into venti, meeting amber, kaeya then jean and Lisa was so boring to play through and the dialogue was just yapping. How does that compare to HSR starting?😂 but I guess personal preference comes into play
If you give music to genshin, it means you didn't even play 2 hours or more in HSR. What about SAM theme? Skarakabaz? Dawn of disaster, wildfire and more. Cmon, you compare games, and evdn don't play HSR enough to understand game. Maybe play in game more than 1 hour is not bad idea? Sory for bad eng. After compare story, i just off this video. It s not a serios video, it's just a comedy. You better play the game, and after compare, геншиненок.
Ur right I only played 3 hours, but I'm going to continue playing the game it isn't like I'm just giving up on it. I have another video in mind too. The only thing I could say is that from the three hours I played those are my true initial opinions, BUT they will mostly likely change as I play the game more, so don't worry I'm not doing Honkia dirty👍
I think you're much too early in the game to rate Star Rail's story, honestly. Like let's be real, Genshin was kind of a trash slog for the first ten hours. Neither of them starts out strong, you've just had more story updates for Genshin so you've gotten to experience its stronger portions. Star Rail takes a while to get going, but it easily hits the same heights in a much shorter period of time than Genshin (although it does have its filler arcs all the same).
Many people have been telling me this, but I've only gotten to the stormterror fight in Genshin 😅 Edit: I do get your point tho, I probably have bias bc of nostalgia
Another Clickbait, Ragebait Thumbnail. Let me guess without watching this video, you will say "Genshin is worse than Star Rail" after wasting 20 minutes.
I downloaded starrail for the sake of playing starrail upon its release to not miss any rewards or events, than came the pressure to lv up my characters and using resin for common materials that I would have normally in genshin found on the ground rubbed me the wrong way, especially when I had two hungry children of the same path which I couldnt afford to feed atm, slowly and surely I started to get bored of the combat and the exploration, every time I played starrail I felt as if I were wasting my time, staring at the screen not feeling the impact of my own actions/reactions, not feeling like I was actually a part of the world, wishing I were playing genshin or anything else insted, so I deleted the game and other than feeling more free nothing in my life changed, besides some starrailheads laughing at me and insultimg me for having different opinions of course I downloaded starrail later on, got ratio, and deleted the game seconds after again cuz the burn out I felt at the start of the game still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, plus I eint farming artifacts where I have to farm seven on set pieces with what is it like... at least three extra substat versions for eight or more characters when I cant even learn to dodge in that game, and I eint exploring an "overworld" that feels like boxes with the free character cast that could be bound to a wheelchair and still play the same I was honestly shocked when someone said thats starrail daily activities are suppose to last like 3 minutes cuz it always felt like hours to me plus there was the end game stuff that got introduced to me too early in the game imo and I simply couldnt do it (very few characters and very underleveled with no artifacts) when my failiures still looked me dead in the eyes even after spending what felt like half an hour trying to do them, in genshin when I didnt do any of the "harder" stuff I could just run around and do anything else until I got strong enough for the thing, while in starrail I was always glued to the battle pass screen telling me to do the thing with a timer set off long story short: kids, never force yourself to play a game for the sake of playing a game, not even if your friends try to pressure you, you will only feel miserable
I feel this exact way about Genshin, mat farming there is an awful experience for me at least, I have it more easy on HSR, but everyone can experience things different and that's fine, nobody should be forced to like something they don't

( Late, but better than never. )
Yeah, if we got more than 10 primos for anniversary events I think people would like Genshin better
@@diamondfire21 If I could buy ascension materials or even use resin for it instead of having to go to the same 5 random cliffs (very far apart) to get that one specific flower... then likely I would still play genshin. I like building new characters....but genshin makes it way too hard and time consuming.
The constant blasting with caelus ult is triggering me😭
I came back to honkai star rail because of free raito and the song of the current update
That’s the point when you pretty much left the tutorial stage.
im f2p and I can say the hsr is more f2p friendly than genshin
Ah yes, my favourite mihoyo game honkai stair rail(satire joke)
As a huge genshin player before
I could say that
Genshin could never hell yeah
Honkai star rail ❤❤
Bro really said tunbase is weird you clearly never played pokemon or something 😂
You litterly called it, Im getting a gameboy next week to play pokemon because I've never played it before🤣
@@diamondfire21 damn you miss out so much but guess your about to experience the joy that you missed out for not being able to play it early on
Pokemon is a fire franchise 😍
The sad part is that the video cut off right before you get onto the train 😭
For me, just a name "honkai..." promised me the quality from Hoyo.
Lol he gave music to Genshin befor he listened to the doomsday beast theme
To compare story of genshin and honkai we should try to compare early honkai vs early genshin.
Like belebog from hsr compare to genshin mondstand arc.
Hsr take the cake 🎂 mondstand is more accepted bc of nostalgia maybe, but i do not feel nostalgic so from a fact hsr early story is much better then genshin's story early
Penecony only version 2.0 already destroyed inazuma arc or liyue arc archon quest.
I stopped playing to genshin because I've been getting less stuff instead of honkai star rail giving us free pulls while genshin impact you get no free pulls that's how sad genshin impact is now
I love that atleast you tried to be unbiased as much as you can 😂
Thanks! I wanted to give both games a fair chance
star rail has 1 amazing song but its on the next area genshin is to calm and dumb i mean cmon a banner for weapons for real thats just plain dumb
You need to experience more of HSR plss make more vids of it.
don't worry I will! (might be in 2 months tho)
Remember, if a Hoyoverse game has the name Honkai in it you bet your ass that they gonna focus more on it than Genshin
jenshin the ultimate edgy npc story quest rpg
well, this is like comparing apples to pears
the games are COMPLETELY different, despite the artstyle and company being the same
Honkai star rail feels more casual, you just hop on, do some stuff, quests, dailies, whatever, you log off
Genshin Impact is an open world game, if you would just hop on, do some stuff and log off, it would be the most boring open world game
Genshin is open, you explore and get rewarded for it, spending time is rewarded with gaining items
Honkai star rail, as a streamlined RPG, cannot be full of exploration and needy of time, you want to play it casually, else it would just be Final Fantasy
So, calling one better than another is... well... a stupid move, the target audience is different, besides you can play both
meanwhile I'll be playing Honkai Impact 3rd
You definitely should get to the next planet
I just gotten serval and Dr. ratio?! For real!? Sheeshhhhh i dint remember how i got it
Hello there 🦆
WE ARE GETTING CANCELED WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
Underrated in my opinion 😌🤚
How is this the most popular and most recent video
The story and music on the video where rated too early bro it makes looks like an lazy review could have done it a way more later.(like completing belobog history or making all the way till the newest story chapters) *Penacony*
Now Imp
White knight,Cocolia boss musics>genshin musics
@@diamondfire21 OK!
I've been playing since the game first came out, but I still prefer Genshin's music tbh.
Many people have been telling me this, but I've only gotten to the stormterror fight in Genshin 😅
Edit: I do get your point tho, I probably have bias bc of nostalgia
only the rewards
Another Clickbait, Ragebait Thumbnail.
Let me guess without watching this video, you will say "Genshin is worse than Star Rail" after wasting 20 minutes.
White knighting goes crazy especially not watching the video 😭
"Leave the million dollar company alone!"
Rage bait comment lol
Reread the comment again lmao. @@PartherB8
Nah you just cant read. I didnt say Shitimpact is better. I said he is just wasting 20 Minutes. @@SandsUnderthetable
I downloaded starrail for the sake of playing starrail upon its release to not miss any rewards or events,
than came the pressure to lv up my characters and using resin for common materials that I would have normally in genshin found on the ground rubbed me the wrong way, especially when I had two hungry children of the same path which I couldnt afford to feed atm,
slowly and surely I started to get bored of the combat and the exploration, every time I played starrail I felt as if I were wasting my time, staring at the screen not feeling the impact of my own actions/reactions, not feeling like I was actually a part of the world, wishing I were playing genshin or anything else insted, so I deleted the game and other than feeling more free nothing in my life changed, besides some starrailheads laughing at me and insultimg me for having different opinions
of course I downloaded starrail later on, got ratio, and deleted the game seconds after again cuz the burn out I felt at the start of the game still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, plus I eint farming artifacts where I have to farm seven on set pieces with what is it like... at least three extra substat versions for eight or more characters when I cant even learn to dodge in that game, and I eint exploring an "overworld" that feels like boxes with the free character cast that could be bound to a wheelchair and still play the same
I was honestly shocked when someone said thats starrail daily activities are suppose to last like 3 minutes cuz it always felt like hours to me
plus there was the end game stuff that got introduced to me too early in the game imo and I simply couldnt do it (very few characters and very underleveled with no artifacts) when my failiures still looked me dead in the eyes even after spending what felt like half an hour trying to do them, in genshin when I didnt do any of the "harder" stuff I could just run around and do anything else until I got strong enough for the thing, while in starrail I was always glued to the battle pass screen telling me to do the thing with a timer set off
long story short: kids, never force yourself to play a game for the sake of playing a game, not even if your friends try to pressure you, you will only feel miserable
I feel this exact way about Genshin, mat farming there is an awful experience for me at least, I have it more easy on HSR, but everyone can experience things different and that's fine, nobody should be forced to like something they don't
Spoiler Welt is from honkai 3rd
you gotta play the beloborg story...i know it's everywhere now. but when you reached the end of the first main world story. you will see how good the story is
it's bad?
its ight
i cant stand hsr's side profiles idk why but it makes me actively not want to play
what do u mean
@@longbread it looks off like the entire face on people and in genshin slope thats how you get the face shape but in hsr its flat with the nose sticking out aka not how a face works
Hsr is way better imo
Vid is okay, personally, my channel is better 😐
