Jamboree does indeed feel like a good step-up from Super MP, the original game lacked more "color" and personality on the aesthetics imo, at least with Superstars they knew what it had to be made. Also, two extra classic boards? Goddammit that was supposed to be Superstars DLC while ago, come on!
What a fitting time for this the day after the announcement of SMP jamboree (Which has seemingly adressed some of the repetition problems with this entry, this was a good reminder to sell it for the upcoming broketober) 😂
And, unlike last time, it probably won't even get a Family Game nom at The Game Awards. My bet: 1. Shadow Generations 2. Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom 3. Astro Bot 4. Mario & Luigi: Brothership 5. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
The great thing about Mario Party DS was that only one person needed the cartridge for local multi-player, which was great for a handheld. Instantly solved the one thing that plagued multi-player handheld games (if your name isn't Pokemon), where each person needed their own copy. My cousins and siblings had a blast with Mario party ds
Man, I'm getting old. I remember Ted used to be so confident with the button-mashing mini-games. _"I told you, I beat Canary Mary!"_ Smite has those passive-aggressive messages too. "You' rock!" "Cancel that!"
And here we are, once again, in the Mario Party craze, without Lewis but with Nora like usual. Will this be good? We hope so. Will Anarchy prevail? I hope so. [22:35] - I think Ted's referring, and correct me if I'm wrong, it's Yoichi Kotabe.
johnny: i'm glad they dropped the skeleton key Nintendo: Did someone say bring back the skeleton key?!? (and before people say anything, super mario party jamboree's boxart has the skeleton key on it)
Honestly, better the Skeleton Key than the freakin' Mini Mushrooms where you have to use it _before_ passing a small pipe (and unless you are 1 space off, hope you roll high enough).
Waluigi time?! EDIT: By the way, it's been 10 years since you guys have first done Mario Party 3, and they are, in my opinion, the absolute funniest Mario Party videos I've ever watched on TH-cam!
"Mario Party DS is better than you'd think." ProtonJon would vehemently disagree, and that's not counting all the times they had to restart a match because of the game losing connection to each other despite them all being in the same room.
Ted once said that the Toad voice hurts his throat less if he practices it. It's been years since we heard the Toad voice, and I'm betting the older he gets, the less he's going to try to use it.
Its been a while since there was a bsc mario party, and im so happy to see them do one again And good timing too since mario party jamboree was just announced
Part of me wonders if the returning boards for Jamboree where originally going to be DLC for this game, it does feel like it was supposed to get DLC. I suppose having them including in the next game doesn’t make a difference cost wise so it’s no big deal
Nowadays, 6 is a lot well liked, but back then, many fans preferred the N64 games as the best of the best while 6 used to be hated for having gimmicks in a gimmick. Not only it brought back the Day and Night cycle from 2 but it also introduced new ways to get Stars as well as having Random Star Bonuses at the end of the game. These changes weren't liked back then because it was considered too different from the traditional, run and get Stars randomly from spaces and the traditional Bonus Stars. A reason why 6, 7, and 8 weren't liked that much until 9 and the latter were released, which these games are now looked back fondly for still being mostly traditional.
People seem to be weirdly puritanical about what counts as a good Mario Party. Like anything after the N64 shouldn’t be mentioned which is weird and baffling.
Which is weird cause I think 6 and 7 are better than 1 and 2. I always felt like that Mario Party stigma from early TH-cam always came from those who never played the Gamecube Mario Partys.
@@neptuniamarina4924 It’s funny how other more prestigious Nintendo franchises people are less picky with. Like sure everyone has their preferred favourite Zelda, Metroid, 3-d Mario and there are fan favourites but it’s the party series that people are very particular about. Sure I think we can mostly agree 9 and 10 aren’t great games but 8 is pretty good. The gamecube games are quality as well. It’s weird.
Ya know I'm surprised they were so negative about the online experience. Like NSO can ALWAYS be better but this is unironically the game with the best online experience I've played on Switch. I've frequently played with people over the pond and stuttering does occur occassionally but that's incredibely infrequent for me. Now if for some reason Jamboree comes out WITHOUT online play I will scream intensely.
While I like that the Mario Party series is getting attention, I do not like the new mechanics and board layouts-far too forgiving. Mario Party is best when everyone is suffering to a degree and chaos is in control.

why is it always ted that says it

I just hope it has better update support than MP Superstars because more boards via updates would be great!

I wonder how Ted feels about the announcement of the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection.

Yet again, Ted continues to prove he's a reverse psychic, and everything he says won't happen does happen.

As someone who's been watching a LOT of Party Crashers lately, it's weird to go back to seeing people this chill while playing Mario Party. 😅
Kinda same.
Although BSC was very competitive in their older Mario Party videos, they have since mellowed out.
I wonder what hijinks Manic Depressed Luigi and that purple guy will get themselves into
An extreme car chase while Daisy gets her nails done and Yoshi loses his tax return again.
