Yay, great choice. Now you can sail over the horizon! Two masts, as i said before, is an excellent choice. 👍👍 If you get into regretting your purchase - call me! Don't hesitate - just call me!
I was one of the people who said ‘don’t buy the cat’. Now I have seen the video I can see why you bought it. The space means you can make it into a real home. always follow your dreams, you are doing a great job of that!
Exactly. Plus once they fix up this boat like they did their old one, and sail it for a season or two, they will easily sell it for $80 to $100 grand, if not more. So even if they have to spend another $30grand to fix it up, after a fun time sailing it, living on it, if they choose to sell it, they'll make a nice profit.
Rest easy. Bugger the critics. You kids Rock. Take your new boat. Live your next journey. All will be better than good. I see great things coming. I have never regretted jumping into the dreamed future. I am old. You are lovely people. Your adventure is in the works. In fact on the subject of critics. Leave them behind to bugger each other. Hello from New Zealand! People get quite divisive with monos and cats, but I have sailed both and every sailing craft has its purpose. Well done for being open minded and fantastic the cat comes with new sails, that’s a huge cost bonus! Enjoy the project😀
You ´re right buying that boat. I have a cat in that port and I know that boat from outside. It’s only to clean , repaint, change some things, having a look everywhere ... I had have the same type of English cat, in smaller, when I was younger. It’s good Hulls. Nothing impossible. Bravo.
Congratulations! Don’t rip all the original woodwork out! You have a classic interior and well thought out, plus probably much better plywood than available today! Take it slowly…ripping out!

Well done! My Dad bought a Sailcraft Iroquoi and it lived in our front garden for 3 years while he fitted it out. This was back in 1981! We had the boat for 17 years and had wonderful family times onboard. Sailcraft made good seaworthy boats with a decent turn of speed 👍
It sounds like you received good assistance in helping you with your decision. It sounds like the price was good. I think Sailing Lady Africa might be the same length cat.
The cat idea is growing on me. Lots of cool toys on board. Get that deck painted and get rid of some of those cupboards. Make the most of all that space. She will make a great home. Go retro 70s to make the most of that coach roof shape. Love the hair Mark looks much better. Best wishes
You are in luck. Because I love watching people doing their best to make a boat ship shape for sailing and living aboard. And with this...snicker.... multi hull you have double the fun !!!
Hey guys, we are all full of advice it’s free, but once the decision is made all of that negative advice is put behind you and you will just get on with it. You will win through on this project. Well done for not taking the easy option, I look forward to watching your progress. Positivity, sharing the good and bad will see you through to an enhanced life. Take care.
Here's my thought about you buying the cat. You are blessed. You have a nice boat. You can travel abroad. Before you think that you are unfortunate, stand on the deck, look around at where you are at. Fill your lungs with the clean air coming from offshore and consider where you are not at. You are not stuck in Houston traffic. You are not crowded into a Chicago train. Your will find that as you look back at the lights along the coastal highway that you actually feel sorry for all those people who are stuck in the rat race. And you will realize that your catamaran has given you freedom. And when you trade up, you will feel like you too are blessing the next owner.
Sailcraft Cherokee catamarans have a good reputation and are big enough to live on, so I consider you lucky to have found one in such good shape. So, I say, "Good Buy!"
If I was to give my opinion I would have to start by saying, I haven't sailed a mono haul, haven't sailed a cat, guess I haven't sailed at all, I just enjoy watching those that have chosen to live this life style. You have to live YOUR life your way, no one else can do it for you. I am looking forward to seeing your journey to bringing this vessel back to its former glory, good luck and many "happy" days ahead for you. Take care of each other and stay safe.
There are many smaller sailboats to sail, I've never sailed a big boat, but Hobie 16, Sunfish, and a popular boat similar to a sunfish but larger in Texas called a Dolphin Sr, also many sailing clubs for smaller boats too.
We, the viewing public only have one perspective. You are on the ground with far more information to make decisions. We are watching you and rooting for you and support your journey. That little cat can be a gem when you get it all finished and given a fresh coat of paint. That blue just looks so old fashioned. Best of luck with it. Stay safe, and don't fall off. You are not in the drink yet, so falling hurts. Btw, my wife is Chinese and we live in Norway. Our son is now almost 12 and we both had a career in the fishing industry, but those days are over for me. Just got diagnosed with a muscle disease. I just found your channel and look forward to seeing how you get on with the boat.

@@nocturn1ts the channel is a sharing platform, like any other socials platform, there’s enough of those so called influencers that live there live being dictated how to live by followers and sponsors. I think you’ll miss the cosiness of your “proper yacht” initially but long term if you stick at it, grit your teeth at the higher marina fees and learn how to repair and maintain all the cat’s systems you will have an excellent boat for really serious cruising.
Boats have anchors, right? Bigger boats usually have dinghies, right? When you look at a typical cruisers harbor you see many cats anchored out, for free. Why tie yourself up, I thought to idea was to be free! (and cats are gentler in swell).
I'm happy for you, it seems very nice, you'll enjoy the extra space. My father used to say "ask for everyone's opinion and then make your very own". You're going to have plenty of time to live aboard and refit that vintage catamaran, so enjoy yourselves, your time and your boat. Cheers from Greece.

Such a wonderful cat. I sailed a cat for many years. Transatlantic etc. Don't listen to the monohull dissenters. Never known a sailor that changed to cat,s and didn't luv it. You have a real joy there. Enjoy.
I think this was an excellent buy guys , perfect for you to expand and grow into , just the right amount of work to expand and challenge you , but in no way flogging a dead horse , these boats are very strong and were put together very well , now you can grow and expand and build a wonderful life , congratulations.

Jeff Cote is very informative... as he says "nothing is easy" 😊 I've spent hours watching his seminars. Good to see you are taking it all so seriously.
One of my favorite boating videos so far...partly because, if I get a boat, it will also have to be a fixer-upper. Great to see two cool people make the jump, then start the work. Lots of good info. Good luck!
Hey I haven’t watched you guys since somewhere in the weedy canals of France. Nadiyana is such a strong presenter now, and I guess always was. Don’t worry at all about those of us out here who comment so vociferously if only because we live our lives through your adventures. Those with the least at stake make the most noise. You guys are doing fine!
You did it right! As long as the boat is solid, that’s what counts. You’ll make it perfect and you’ll learn so much in the process. Be happy, proud, and vindicated.
I, out of the blue, found an unbelievable price on a 77 Heavens Twins cat. Haven't seen it; yet, but it will be worth a look. I actually looked up one of the previous owners, and have sent him the ad. Have had some great emails back and forth. I'm going to share my first look at the boat, his former home, with him. Cats rule, maybe the cat will be in better shape than I think it is, despite the price. We will see. Enjoy your new home and projects!
Congratulations on your new home! I'm sure you'll appreciate the extra space a cat has to offer and from the looks of things so far, it seems that the majority of the work is going to be cosmetic. I love your idea that you have bought yourselves an education. Never stop learning.
Well done its your home and your dream im sure you will make it wildling yours. Go with your gut thats what got you your dream boat looking forward to seeing how it turns out
The cat looks better on inside and it is evident the PO was trying to refit. This is your home and dream. Positive people DO support you, your decisions and path forward and I believe the cat was the best and most comfortable vessel you shared with us in viewerland. Please study, fully understand and critcally inspect the structural reinforced load areas/limitations of cats in general and specifically this hull family from the manufacturer/owners groups. Congratulations and well done by both. Cheers.
Take as long as you need...I am excited to follow your refit....as to others who did not like your choice.....it is YOUR CHOICE so do what makes you smile and be done with it....I really enjoyed your video and will be tuning in to see them all....the adventure will be EPIC. Good luck and wishing you all the best. #64in Cali.
Hey, you have to do what's right for you, not what other people tell you to do! So, even if it's only just me, you have at least one person which is shure you took the right decision! Keep in mind that many "old school sailors" do not like catamarans because "only monohulls are real sailboats" - or stuff like this...
Excellent, so many people spend all their time looking for a boat. Only thing I saw that looked worrying was the crack in the deck frame at 16:36 just by Mark's left ear and that was probably nothing major. Cannot wait to see (and hear) the old Merc engine roar into life.
Seems you are in for very very much work. Just remember: Don't give up! I am sure you will make it. Anything inside can be done. And redone if necesarry. Or just improved later. It's a big chance to make a dream come true. I think you made the right decission. Maybe not the easy way - but the best way. Good luck to you in your travels.
So excited for you guys! A whole new adventure. Cats are a little different to sail, but nothing you can't learn. Ignore the knockers, it's your life, live the script you write for yourselves, not that written by others.
When push comes to shove, it’s your decision, your boat, your hard work, your “home.” Just buckle down and do the work and enjoy your boat, live your decision, and film it all so we can watch you grow. Congratulations.
Hi guys, i sincerely think that since you rolled the dice you now have to move forward with one thing in mind..." how to reach your target within a defined budjet in a comfortable laspe of time", the big thing though will be to give it a general modern look, i wish you guys courage, determination and lots of sucess in this project...have fun.
Many blessings and congratulations! Be safe. Keep each other safe. When you sail think about seeing us in Detroit and the Great Lakes! Gentle winds and beautiful sunsets...
It is never a mistake if it is your dream.

That boat just needs a little care and of course a little money, mostly love and your labor...I am excited for you👍
Congratulations on your new home. You will learn alot, as you would with any different boat. Enjoy while you learn.
No explanation needed , you're doing what makes you happy !
Inspiring! Don't get overwhelmed, and continue to kick ass.
Well done its your home and your dream im sure you will make it wildling yours. Go with your gut thats what got you your dream boat looking forward to seeing how it turns out
Great boat and a really good project, congratulations!
I feel so proud of you guys, it's like watching your kids move out.
They grow up so fast... one day they're sleeping in your aft cabin, the next they they're all like "omg we're moving out" :D
🤣🤣😂😂
Hahaha
The cat looks better on inside and it is evident the PO was trying to refit. This is your home and dream. Positive people DO support you, your decisions and path forward and I believe the cat was the best and most comfortable vessel you shared with us in viewerland. Please study, fully understand and critcally inspect the structural reinforced load areas/limitations of cats in general and specifically this hull family from the manufacturer/owners groups. Congratulations and well done by both. Cheers.
Yeah I'm very happy for you both and I'm going to send you a coffee for being brave and making it even more exciting 😊 good luck guys 🙌
Aww thanks a lot, Alex. We super duper appreciate it!!!
Brilliant Choice and not too shabby inside either, you have fresh crispy sails too.
I love it great choice it fits U both very WELL YAHOO always Freddie
Fair play! Best of luck, and look forward to following the new adventures!
Life is a series of good, not the best decisions and disasters. I wish you both well. Cheers Gray
Well done guys. I hope you have a lot of good times with your cat.
Uncle Benny sounds very knowledgeable - good to have his friendship and support. Good Luck you two !
I only sound smart on the internet ;)
When push comes to shove, it’s your decision, your boat, your hard work, your “home.” Just buckle down and do the work and enjoy your boat, live your decision, and film it all so we can watch you grow. Congratulations.
So happy for you two your smiles throughout the video speak volumes all the best of luck! I'll be watching big LIKE !!!!
Keeping everything crossed for you both....hope hope hope everything turns out great 👍 live through dream and never stop ..
People do travel a lot further in a lot less - heavenly twins have circumnavigated (on TH-cam somewhere).
You have a vision! Keep at it and don't let anyone try to kill it!
