I cried for 30 minutes after this cover was released T__T i also thought of his hardships in I-land too, I'm so proud of Jay! It's also amazing that his first cover is with his idol, Yuuri. He's one of the most respected Japan artists!
jay dropped this video after going on a social media hiatus due to a video of him taken out of context and that generated a lot of hate , so we didn't get to see jay for over 2months , no pictures , no videos , no lives , we only got to see him when they went to an award show or group live , and when he was finally confident in meeting us , he dropped this cover and we cant be anymore thankful , i honestly teared up not once not twice , the whole cover was like a breath of fresh air , i also used to listen to yuuri songs a lot and dried flower is my favorite , and jay is a big fan of him so seeing him doing stuff he likes with people he respect made me feel so happy ! thank you for the reaction ♥
We didn't realize he'd gone on a hiatus but we did hear about that "controversy" over what he said. The hate was unnecessary and it was very frustrating to watch all of that unfold. We mentioned how happy he looked in the Always cover! I hope he continues to be able to do things like this in the future ❤

Just like you, I became a fan of Yuuri because of Jay. And listening to Jay and hearing his potential as a singer made me fall more in love with him. My idol singing with his idol❤ the fact that jay reached out for yuuri and asked him by himself wether a collab is possible is so sweet and it’s even more impressive that yuuri agreed to this because yuuri is seriously one of the biggest soloist in Japan(just to showcase this: he’s the only artist to surpass bts record with ,,dynamite” on billboard Japan and he did it with ,,dried flower”)! Since he agreed to this collab it only shows how much respect yuuri has for enhypen as artists and knows their impact in Japan. Jay mentioned yuuri multiple times and recommended many songs so it must be great for him to have this opportunity. And let’s not forget jay’s hard work for this collab! He isn’t a native Japanese speaker and it’s not his first or even second language so his way of delivering the words in a foreign language with so many emotions is more than impressive!! There where many many Japanese fans (not only engenes but also fans from yuuri) who said jays Japanese pronunciation sounds perfect so he must have been working very hard to make engenes proud and show himself from his best side :)

Only one bts song has ranked in the oricon annual charts in 5〜10 years. In terms of sales, domestic Japanese idols are many times bigger in Japan. Ordinary Japanese people, unlike South east asians, prefer rock bands and singer-songwriter over idols. No one listens to only kpop music, even if one of the songs they listen to is kpop group. It's just one song among many. Even though they spend a lot of money advertising and appearing on Japanese TV shows, domestic artists are still more popular. kpop music in Japan is not as mainstream as it is in Southeast Asia. Japan's music market and genre is the second largest after America, and kpop group only have a smaller territory than domestic jpop artists. It was revealed that this collab was planned over the span of a year, and honestly if I knew about it a year ago I don’t think I’d mind waiting. Knowing that the boys get so much freedom in their covers and how much work they put into them…I’ll be as patient as I need to be waiting for the others to release theirs. Iland did dirty to him so many times. They tried to evil edit him too but even when the switch up with Sunghoon (I won't say much cuz I don't wanna spoil) they couldn't paint Jay the bad guy cuz he's so so supportive of Hoon. Jay's i got pushed line for studio version of into the iland was famous too. I love his vocal a lot. It's pretty underrated. He's also one of the most stable members during live stages too.
I-Land tried to do just about everyone dirty 😮💨 seriously. If anything, his attitude on the show really endeared him to us. His determination to put himself out there time and time again had us rooting for him every time.

You should try listening to YUURI, his songs are elite, melodic and heart-wrenching. My fave was Betelgeuse, try listenibg to the FIRST TAKE version.

Iland did dirty to him so many times. They tried to evil edit him too but even when the switch up with Sunghoon (I won't say much cuz I don't wanna spoil) they couldn't paint Jay the bad guy cuz he's so so supportive of Hoon. Jay's i got pushed line for studio version of into the iland was famous too. I love his vocal a lot. It's pretty underrated. He's also one of the most stable members during live stages too.
I-Land tried to do just about everyone dirty 😮💨 seriously. If anything, his attitude on the show really endeared him to us. His determination to put himself out there time and time again had us rooting for him every time.

I’m so glad you two are reacting to this collaboration of Jay and Yuuri. I watched the music video so much yesterday with a proud heart and tears. So so proud of him. Jay showcased his vocal and love the growl part and the ending where he was little higher than Yuuri🥰. They sounded amazing. I can’t wait for the other members to cover a song.
