Trains at Clapham Junction, SWML & BML - 28th April 2022

- Hello and welcome to my latest video.
On Thursday 28th April 2022 I've headed into London Capital I went to Clapham Junction Station, which serves both South Western & Brighton Main Line!
This station is insane, so many trains in and out like every second , train traffic here is crazy.
Clapham Junction still remains the busiest railway station in Britain, as it's massive interchange and by number of trains using this station which is 110 trains per hour!
Hardly stopped to have a break as there are so many great varieties, and run around so much to get to another Platforms as it's 17 Platform Station! It certainly keeps on your toes a lot.
The views and the angles of the station are sensational even towards the line towards London. And you can clearly see the train care depot in the centre between Platform 9 & 6.
Facility wise of this station are very good.
Trains here are South Western Railway, Southern, Gatwick Express, London Overground & few freights.
Managed to capture plenty of 455 before they sadly be withdraw next week or so.
Fantastic station, and very much enjoyed my time here I highly recommend it.

The 159 units look very nice in SWR livery - but I see they don't keep them any cleaner than they did when I was riding them every day from Salisbury to Waterloo in South West Trains days! Clapham Junction is a fascinating place to kill some time - as is Waterloo. Something so resttful about simply sitting and watching people and trains come and go when you have no rush yourself.

Thank you for your comments. I agree and I’ve been saying this to a lot of people, that SWR Iiverys suits more on 159 / 158 compare to Desiro units. They always known to be flirty trains, even GWR are the same but they are very decent sturdy trains…. When they don’t brake down of course lol. Clapham Junction is great station, always fantastic to see how busy the rail is and station. Even when I’m filming still rushing around to get from one Platform to another as it’s 17 Platform, but still enjoy it though.

Awesome video! I have a question just trying to learn about this part of the Brighton Mainline. Is this the only station on the Mainline that South Western Railway and London Overground meet with Southern and Gatwick or do they meet a few stations down the line?
Yes it is, because junction serves both lines toward London Waterloo & Victoria, Stratford & Dalton Junction!
The funny thing is that the Class 455 ( SWR ) Has a 313 Coach. Did anyone notice ? 38:00

I am ment to be going to Clapham Junction soon any platforms that are good for train spotting from
Platforms 5&6 for Windsor Line services, Platforms 9&10 for SW Mainline services & Platforms 13&14 for Southern seem to be the best from experience
Same as what Alex’s saying…. well almost. Best views are Platform 5&6 for Windsor Line & Reading services as you can see train traffic towards London line, and see trains coming around the curve into station. 9&10 for SW mainline. 11 & 12 are pretty good as that was the platform I was on for Southern Trains, but I was on 13 & 14 at the end of the video. My advice just go where you want to go, that’s what I done.
Btw it not Gatwick express it Southern

@@koby6174 RTT says differently though. Gatwick Express got back into service way before I came to Clapham Junction. So it’s still a Gatwick Express service!

Who else just thinks the swr Livery just looks plain and boring compared to the old swt livery, I just going to miss the different types of livery’s swt had, the Orange and white on the 444s and 158/9, the orange and blue on the 450s and the 458s and the main orange on the 455s and 456s
