Woah this version of the game is really different from the PC version. That whole Diagon Alley section was not in the PC version at all, and neither was the unicorn quest
Harry, realizing how disgusting everyone around him looks, concludes that whatever is happening must be a weird dream and utilizes lucid dreaming to learn the forbidden spell category, far beyond the dark arts: WALL CLIPPING.
Rest in pieces for those with motion sickness at 31:00 Meanwhile I'm just getting dizzy and finding myself sleepy.... Also harry either has those squeaky air Nikes or he just constantly has to squeak with those shoes.
Even tho the alchemical term is Philosopher's Stone, we still call it the Sorcerer's Stone in America because we are (a) mostly consisted of uncultured swine, and (b) don't deal with anything magical too well (take a look at what happened in the little town of Salem, Virginia)
I know I’m ridiculously late but it’s actually the opposite. The philosopher’s stone is an important part of the history of alchemy, which isn’t an American history but a middle eastern and European one. Americans tend to associate philosophy with its modern definition, and by extension the “philosophers stone” wouldn’t have the connotations in the US that it does abroad, especially when there’s no real tie in to alchemy in the first Harry Potter book. The localization of Full Metal Alchemist, in contrast, deals heavily with alchemy and uses the proper term, as the Philosopher’s Stone in FMA has its historical function.
No, we know what a philosopher is. The modern meaning. People in the US don't associate the valuable study of philosophy with the hokey ancient art of alchemy. Because the US takes things seriously, whereas the British are incapable of taking anything seriously.
Holy shit, watching Harry jumping at the precise edges of so many things makes me really tense.
