    Great work Matt. Clever fix using the super tweeter to cancel out the peak in the tweeter. Happy Christmas and New Year.

    • @haycrossaudio5474
      @haycrossaudio5474  ปีที่แล้ว

      The cancellation happens on axis only to reduce the tweeter peak. That then creeps back in phase off axis which gives such a uniform horizontal listening plane. Different but just works 🤩

    Good luck Matt in launching your new range of personalised speakers! They look great and I am sure they sound as good as you describe. I am looking to upgrade in the new year and was looking at something like the HA3/6 to replace my aging Proac Tablette 2000's. I am looking forward to seeing your update in the new year to see how the final production versions look and sound.

    Good luck. I hope your venture takes off. I like the style of speaker you are producing. Don’t underprice them though. £1000 for all of the time and attention they require might be too little.

    These look very interesting and I hope they are a success. When you do your next update it would be interesting if you could give a comparison of their sound against other 'BBC' speakers, particularly the LS3/5a, as that is the one most people are familiar with.
    PS(!) I have just seen your earlier rant- I am not an LS3/5a rivet counter, although I do like them a lot!

    • @haycrossaudio5474

    What is the seas tweeter? Is it the Seas 27TFFNC/G Tweeter, H1396-04 I am looking at getting pair for a set of Tannoy Mercury F4's which were a pretty underwhelming set of speakers but I have two pairs of some very nice AVI DM10 drivers(custom sb acoustics, very ,very nice) that I am going to put in the boxes and with this tweeter, they are in an MTM configuration so should work really well. I bet the peerless tweeter is the D27TG-35-06?, got a few relativity cheaply from DIgikey as upgrades to the vifa tweeter in my Castle Chester and Howard's.
    Would you be offering this as a kit to build ourselves? just send us the ready made box with all the components and let us build them on our own, may save a bit of time for you whilst being a bit of technical fun for us lot that can do it that way, I am sure I would not be the only one.
    Great work BTW, would love a set of these, just based on your description of the build and the specs alone.
    Cheers Matt and happy Christmas to you and your family.

      Hi Andy
      Thanks for the comment and kind words. I can't remember the driver part numbers off hand. They all work really well together which made the crossover design a bit easier.
      Unfortunately I won't be selling these as a kit. A few people have asked. I have a great cabinet builder on board now so these will only sell as finished products.
      Good luck with your builds. Have a great Christmas to.
      Cheers. Matt

    Would these work in a small room 10 x10 and valve amps if so I'm definitely interested?

    • @haycrossaudio5474
      @haycrossaudio5474  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely fine on valve gear. Impedance only dips to around 6.5ohm. That room size should be OK but I wouldn't put them in anything smaller. A square room that size will have quite a bass lift at around 100Hz so you might need to plug the ports

    • @michaelvincent8306
      @michaelvincent8306 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@haycrossaudio5474 so would i be better off with your new smaller speakers which are probably a sealed box and a sub as I have had bass issues with the room before?

    • @haycrossaudio5474
      @haycrossaudio5474  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelvincent8306 Probably yes. The small speaker won't energize the room as much. A sub can be used and rolled off to suit the room modes. Small rooms are often difficult even more so if there square and not rectangular. You'll likely have your speakers closer to the wall so smaller would be better

      @@ericschulze5641 it's not a mid-range it's a tweeter. It crosses to the woofer at around 1800Hz. This video is a year old and that was a very early prototype. I recently uploaded a few new videos as the are now completed and are starting to sell well. The finished version uses the same woofer and tweeter but with a ribbon super tweeter. Crossover is revised to. Crossover points are approx 1800Hz woofer to tweeter and approx 9000Hz tweeter to super tweeter 😀

      @russellparker4568 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@haycrossaudio5474 Yeah i can imagine the first steps being tough but a few good reviews from the guys on youtube should give you the boost you need to get recognised. Have you considered reaching out to Tarun and Terry? I know one thing, people like supporting small businesses like yourself, who provide a quality product instead of buying into the mainstream stuff and paying 2/3 towards the profit of others. If the speaker is good and you can get it on the radar it will sell itself.

    • @haycrossaudio5474
      @haycrossaudio5474  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd be listening to them through microphones, TH-cam compression and then through what ever device and speakers your using. You wouldn't get any idea on how they sounded. The point of this video was to start to advertise this product and tell people a bit about it. Oh and to wish you all a happy Christmas

    • @gaborozorai3714
      @gaborozorai3714 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't get the point? We got to know that the designer of these speakers has a love for and an understanding of classic BBC monitors. We got to know how he goes about reproducing that character of sound in his new range of speakers and that these will be sold at very reasonable prices (especially if compared to Graham, Falcon, Harbeth etc.). Do you honestly believe that sound samples over YT would be worth more than all this information?
