Check to see if they are getting UNDER the fence. That one hen seemed like she was checking the bottom of the fence when y'all trapped her.

In my experience, chickens can jump. I’ve had some jump over a 6 foot high fence.

Catholic Mass' cancelled in Cleveland. Husband working his LIBRARY from home. He complained twice today about having cabin fever. This is only the second day. I just said THE BARN NEEDS CLEANED. We're good. Been ready since Y2K. Chickens & goats got a months supply of grain & hay. Two pregnant goats this year. I'm excited. I missed you in OHIO. My car broke down and I ended up in a motel in hell that night. Thanks for all you do. What is Jonah's page?

before you cull, you may want to set up a trail camera or two just to see if you can isolate the issue.

I'm always afraid that someone's going to trip and fall on that rebar and that small cement pad down below in the driveway. I have a neighbor who's calf got excited and flipped up and was impaled.

You need to take the time to watch and see how they are getting out. Clipped wings doesn't mean the chicken can't hop a four foot fence, so you really can't rule that out because you think they can't. To stop their getting out, you need to know How they are getting out. Chickens are no less expert escape artists than goats or ponies ;)

Poultry breaking out is something I know all to well. That's why I clip wings as well as use 6 foot tall fencing. Helps most of the time but there will always be that one percistant hen that wants to explore further a field.
