saturation attacks have two advantages over a piecemeal approach. The first is psychological. It overwhelms the senses and saturates social media providing a propaganda effect beyond the real amount of damage caused . Secondarily it performs a 'roll back' of enemy air defences. It floods the network with targets and exhausts the 'ready' magazines of the defensive systems. This increases the chances of 'leakers' that successfully strike their targets.
There is definitely a psychological effect to 'big numbers' attacks. This is why the Allies during WW2 constantly promoted their '1000 bomber raids' on the Reich even though usually the actual raid strength was usually 800 to 900 aircraft split over daytime (USAAC 8th Air Force) and night time raids (RAF bomber command) added together.

Novorossiysk may actually be hard to defend from a drone attack. Its landward approaches are dominated by hills and mountains. That means small drones can use the valley's and passes as approach routes which give them a terrain masked ingress to their targets. That means late detection (if at all) by the air defences.

I try not to go out on the Weekends or Holidays cause it is utter chaos! Jet Ski's everywhere 100's if not over a 1,000 boats ranging from 16'-60'. There's double deck Pontoon boats with slides off the Back of them, people water skiing, Tubing, Knee Boarding, Wake Boarding, etc. So I like going during the week where there are far fewer people and boats. I have a 17 yr old Boy and his friends that like to do all those things like wake board, tube, and ski. So I will not take them out on weekends or Holidays to do it, that's the biggest reason we stick to during the week the most. But we do go out on weekends sometimes, but we rarely go to any of the Beaches cause there can be 1,000's of people. Just in a short 17.5 miles there is a Few Billion Dollars worth of Boats at Marina's in about 10 of that 17.5 miles. I am at the largest Marina The Ox-Bow Marina Northampton, MA and we have over 500 Slips! So just Imagine in the 10-14 Miles of River we use there are probably 2,500-5,000 Boat Slips and 3 Public Free Boat Ramps! It can get crazy! Today will be our 2nd time out already and the boat has been in the water for like 2 weeks now. It's only going to be 73-75 Degree's out and the water temp was 68 Wednesday. It should be around 73 around June 1 and 76-82 thru July, August, September! I am taking the Kids for the 1st time this year Boarding and Tubing, so I am excited actually! I only used my boat like 2-5 Times all of last year from mid May to Mid October. And it was my first year with a Brand New Boat. It will be a big picture day! Ok sorry for all the B.S. have a good day! Your great!!!

Karkhiv is more and more threatened by russians, i am afraid that if russians go further around karkhiv region (expecially if the city will become a target from the artillery) ukrainians will not be able anymore to lanch this number of drones
I'm sorry but I don't understand your reasoning as to why an assault on Kharkiv would effect Ukraine drone attacks on Russian assets.
Cities that are better protected? Tikhoretsk should be an extremely interesting city. It is located slightly southeast of Rostov and northeast of Novorossiysk, about 350 km from the front line. For three reasons:
1. There is a military airfield there (relatively close to the front)
2. To the west of this airfield there is a large military camp and a large transshipment point for goods including a railway siding. Actually an ideal place for the transshipment of ammunition (from North Korea).
3. There are large oil facilities east of the city. It is important to note that the pipelines from Siberia that lead to Novorossiysk all converge in Tikhoretsk. It is therefore likely to be an important node for the onward transport of oil.
...and one thing more: Tichorezk is an important railway hub. The Rostov-Baku and Volgograd-Novorossiysk railway lines intersect near the city.
Thanks for the update. While is difficult to precisely assess the effects of the strikes it is still the offensive land fight that Ukraine must get better at to actually put pressure on the Russian Army. Hits on the fuel supply matter but we don't see the Russians stopped yet. I hope the Ukrainians don't waste their long range strike capabilities on targets of questionable value.
The arrival of F-16s with trained crew may change everything.
@@davidl.7317 F-16 is just a weapons platform. Apart from the crews' training level their value is mostly dependent of the weapons and electronic equipment that will be made available for them and the ability to use them in an integrated manner. We'll see.

I had an anti Ukraine American, about 12 months ago, tell me that I was insane for suggesting that eventually Ukraine would be striking Russia daily inside Russian territory.
I was laughed off and told I should stop pandering for nuclear war…
There is a real deep anxiety here that we are going to receive a couple nukes “because Ukraine is getting over zealous attacking Russia”.
Personally, I don’t think it’s as much of a threat as some people want it to be (for perverse reasons) but it’s not a non-zero threat either. I think it’s actually to pretty big miscalculation to think Russia would use nukes anytime soon because in their minds they are winning which negates the need.
From that perspective the war is going better than the American leadership had ever dreamed. 500k casualties and Russia is “feeling pretty good” and wanting to throw more resources into the fight. This conflict will easily extend another couple years now at this higher attrition rate given how both sides are feeling about their chances which means The US & The West got the “forever Civil War between the Soviets” that’s they’ve always dreamed about.
