    Sounds great. Mine is due today. Thanks for the fantastic demo. I only wish the Lex's MIDI CCs could be changed to work with my on-board switch.

    Absolutely the best out there. Significantly superior to burn and ventilator 1 and 2.

    Lex is a superb Leslie sim. The main problem with the Lex is that Strymon made it having in mind mainly (if not only) the guitarists. I had the "Burn" connected it on a Hammond XK1 (actually i had connected two of them) and the sound was excellent. Later i bought a Hammond XK1c and i tried it with Vent II. It''s ok, but something is missing. When i connected the Lex on the XK1c i found the sound i was searching for years, this "motor-boat" intense sound you get when you have the mics too close to Leslie rotors.
    The Lex sounds more "warm" in my ears, especially on higher notes. Personally i chose the Lex over Vent II for its "warmth" and its intense sound. Pull out all the drawbars and listen on Fast speed the higher notes, only Lex make them sound "creamy" and warm, even with the "Clip" overdrive from the SK/XK1c/XK4 models. The Clip OD is almost useless with internal sim, but with Lex sounds extremely well. I was thinking to buy the XK4 and the Lex v2 for a long time, and probably i'll buy them in this summer.
    Listen few sound examples i recorded with the XK1c and Lex in the link below. Even Strymon posted few of these in its Facebook page. 😁

    Come on IK Multimedia, put the T-Racks Leslie in a stomp box. It can be done!

      I've been waiting for them to even put it in an iPad 🥲

    Thanks..Very helpful demo...I much prefer the richer harmonic levels in the sound as compared to Neo Vent 2 which I sold...Could I ask, are you using the speed set to zero at around 14.50 as a stop position for the rotary effect which I would find very useful when using organ "straight" setting..Regards Ray

    It seems really good, but before buying it I would test it against Neo Ventilator II and software IK Leslie.
    Hardware things are not cheap

    Bel sound!. Sorry Mr. Ben Allen, what amp did you use with the XK4. Thank you

      I don't understand what you are asking. What you are hearing in this video, is straight from the XK4, into the Strymon Lex V2 pedal, and then into my interface. No amps were involved.

    Hi, did you bypassed the Leslie in the xk4 ? I don’t see the bypass light on .

    • @benallen5967
      @benallen5967  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not using the main outs. I'm using the rotary out port on the back, which bypasses the internal Leslie. As you can see when I toggle the bypass on the Lex V2, you hear no internal Leslie kick in when pressing the Leslie switches on the XK-4 itself.

      @@benallen5967 thanks for reply, it is good to know that because I just bought a xk-4 and when I press the Leslie bypass I don’t like the sounds .

    Is there any difference with built in leslie ?

      Yes, definitely. Check out my other video where I demo just the XK-4.

    The horn ramp-up is too fast.

      That can be adjusted somewhat. It has three different settings.

    yeah, great!
    thanks for sharing.
    "like 14" 🙂
    this prove that:
    1. the Lex V2 is a great simulator
    2. the XK-4 is not sensationally superior to the SKX-Pro (feel free to see my video with the Lex too 🙂)

    • @benallen5967
      @benallen5967  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the Lex V2 is a good choice, but it doesn’t quite hit Ventilator 2 territory. In terms of raw tone, I would agree concerning the SK- Pro series, which I owned for a while. As far as your videos, yes they are excellent though one reason I made this one, is that your video was done with an amp, not direct (for the SK). I always enjoy your videos, and appreciate the excellent work you do. Thanks!

      @@benallen5967 thanks to you!
      I compared the vent (1 & 2) too.
      with the real hammond C3 the full organ and chorus sound "strange".
      in a certain way, the Vent sounds good with clones, but make a real hammond sounding like a clone 🙂
      I found the Lex V2 more "transparent", and full organ and chorus sound great with clones and real hammond too (my last videos 🙂).
      the Burn is still unbeatable for cabinet resonance, horn "movement" and saturation but unfortunately it is discontinued 😱

    Nice try, and some good competition for the Neo Ventilator. But both are still not as good as the overlooked EHX Lester (which is from 2015).

    • @benallen5967
      @benallen5967  ปีที่แล้ว

      Can’t agree with you there. The Lester K is good- I have one, but I doesn’t touch the Ventilator at all. The Lex V2 comes closer.. but not quite. Honestly, I think the built in XK4 Leslie with some adjustments, is quite good, if a bit narrow.

  • @Curiosicuriosin

    In your opinion what is the best more realistic¿lester k or strymon lex? Thank You master!!

    • @benallen5967
      @benallen5967  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good question, though I am just a normal guy, not a master of anything. Of those two…even though it doesn’t sound exactly like a Leslie…the Strymon would be my pick for its overall tone. The Lester K is definitely good, but doesn’t sound like any Leslie I’ve ever heard - not quite. The Ventilator still reigns supreme here, though I’ve got to say… Yamaha has a fantastic Leslie effect they have implemented in the YC and MontageM.
