Great video! I've had this happen to two of my Sonicare toothbrushes. I waited until the noise was giving me a headache before turning to TH-cam to fix it. At 6:50, when you explain how to place the triangular piece that fits under the screw back into the housing, you say to put it triangle side up and flat side down. It actually comes manufactured triangle side down and flat side up. You can see this with your brush at 5:30. That said I'm not sure if it truly makes a difference.
God bless you! It seemed the planed obsolescence of my toothbrush came half a month after initial purchase. You saved me a lot of hussle with guarantee claims. Best wishes! You've just earned a subscriber!
Thank you! I had a really hard time getting the components out of the shell but I still was able to fix it. Turned a $5 thrift store toothbrush into a brand new one.
Thank you for taking the time to explain this procedure. You can see how quickly the screw comes lose when testing it when it’s out of it housing, mine had come completely out. So using Locktight was also a great tip. ☺️👍
Awesome video. It was surprisingly easy to get it apart with your technique. Toothbrush is fixed now, and you can’t even tell I opened it. THANK YOU!!!!
Great video - very clear and following the instructions managed to mend my toothbrush which would otherwise been recycled. Just one extra tip - I found it easier to wrap the end of the toothbrush with insulating tape and thin cardboard and used molegrips that I could position and gradually tighten.
Very nice and helpful video I followed your instructions and managed to solve the issue. However, after putting it back to the case, I realized my toothbrush can't be charge anymore.
What direction do you push the screwdriver on the tabs inside once you get the bottom cap off? If looks like mine has white tabs. I don't know if I push in out up or down?
@2:28 - Free tip from another video: If you don't want to damage your brush by forcing your way in there with pliers/screwdrivers - remove the bottom using a hot glue stick. Just heat the end of stick up over an open flame and stick it on the botto, then add more glue around the base/stick to maximize the surface area for pulling. Let cool and then pull/yank straight out. To remove, douse with isopropyl alcohol and wait a bit - then remove and clean up. Video: JZhlEmuC7t4
I couldn’t pop the tabs inside and gave up. I called customer support. They said I’m past the 2 year warranty period 😢. Is this a sign to switch to Oral B?
fuck me, while trying to push one of the push tabs in my screwdriver slipped and nicked a component off the board and now its completely dead. owell gonna buy another one now

Well spotted, I will pin this comment to help other viewers out. Thank you 👍
Thank you! I just did this and fixed my toothbrush rather than forking out for a new one and now I feel like I have won at life!
What a legend - you’ve just saved me another £200. Mine was just out of warranty so no repair offered by Phillips. Thank you very much for this video!

Great demonstration, I have successfully fixed my Philips sonicare toothbrush. Thanks a lot!
Sooooo grateful for this! Was ready to pitch it. 10min later I'm back and brushing!! Thanks so much 🙏🏻
Thanks!! Different model but it was the same issue and same disassembly. Chewed up the bottom a bit but far better than throwing it out.
Same. Mine looks a mess but I'm okay with that as long as it charges okay.

Thank you so much, I was about to go and spent money to get a new one but thanks to your video I fixed mine
Thank you so much can't believe just tightening 1 screw did the trick!
Thanks. I needed to tighten the screw that holds the vibrating head. Squeeze and push worked for me.
You are a life saver! I thought I had to get a new one but now I can just fix it myself. Thank you!

The only video that solved my problem!
Thank you! My toothbrush is working again!!
Awesome! Thank you for showing the whole process.
Small cracks on the bottom from stressing the plastic but worth it to get rid of that buzz!
Thank you, great tutorial. Sadly it is not possible to open it without any scratches, but....
Will try this! Both of our toothbrushes have this problem, hopefully I can fix them :)
Update: totally worked. Screw was actually totally undone inside the brush
Thanks for this nice Tutorial Worked very well
This worked perfectly! Thank you!
Are you the same person as my mate Vince and what is the difference with what you do with the channel’s
Why in my case the metal part which is connecting with the head of the tothbrush, is going out ? How I can fix this one? Thanks a lot!
Why this should be up to the consumer to do every few months and risk causing damage to their pricey toothbrush is beyond me

Thank you for this. Very helpful.

Has anyone else had problems getting the screws out? Which screwdriver do I need to remove the screw?
Thank you for your video. I followed your steps but the screw was not loose and it is louder than yours. Any advice, please?

What an amateur. I just turned it on its head and hammered it against a wall and it was fixed in no time.
