    Orlando Arica absolutely deserves to start. Look at the year he’s having!

    • @kfizz21

      Yeah he hasn’t watched the Braves this season at all if he thinks Arcia doesn’t deserve to be there.

      Definitely not. Perdomo and Swanson are doing better. And Swanson has the most war

    • @kfizz21
      @kfizz21 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@hoodiewaffles he wouldn’t if Arcia hadn’t missed 3 weeks. Arcia has 6 less RBI and one less home run in 100 less ABs. He’s producing more than Dansby and it’s not particularly close.

    • @rmathis268
      @rmathis268 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Arcia absolutely deserves it easily, he's played in 20 fewer games and has 1 less home run than Swanson. His average is considerably higher and Swanson has struck out almost double the times he has. His defense has been surprisingly very decent and he has only like 12 less hits in 20 fewer games. Arcia has been the superior player. And without going into any detail, his numbers compare very well against Perdomo too.

    • @jeremiah_12
      @jeremiah_12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rmathis268 Exactly, it took Swanson years to be the player he’s been the last three seasons but Arcia has been a better player than Swanson.

      @@hoodiewaffles Arcia is only .4 behind with 100 less ABs. If he was not injured he probably would have cleared Swanson by 1.0 WAR. TBF it is just theoretical but there is a legit argument for Arcia to be #1.

    Jose Ramirez has 36 walks and 30 strike outs. Jung has 21 walks and 93 strike outs, Chapman 33 walks and 91 strike outs.
    Ramirez is the only 3rd baseman on pace for 100 runs and 100 rbis - and this is on one of the worst offensives in baseball.
    He's 1st or 2nd in almost every offensive category for 3rd baseman, including BA, doubles, triples, SLG, OPS, and stolen bases. BTW - he's 3rd in the ENTIRE American League in OPS, 3rd in SLG, 6th in BA. The only other 3rd baseman get near the top of the leaderboard in a category is Devers with 19 home runs, who unlike Ramirez, is a liability on defense and sports a .245 BA. Chapman has 26 doubles which is tied for 1st, but Ramirez has 21 doubles and is 3rd in SLG at .527, Chapman is 24th in SLG at .457)
    Anyone see him steal home today? There were 2 outs in the 10th inning and a 0 ball 2 strike count on the hitter. This gave Cleveland the lead. Ramirez has been clutch all season with important home runs, base running and other contributions when it matters the most. That won't show up in the box score... and this fan voting was stupid not to make him the starter. Ramirez has defense, speed, batting average, and power. No one else touches him at 3rd third base. If he was in New York instead of Cleveland his whole career, he'd be up there with Derek Jeter in terms of fame matching ability.

    • @michaelwankewycz6209
      @michaelwankewycz6209 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeter career .310 BA, .370 OBP, .440 SLG, .817 OPS
      Ramirez .280 BA, .355 OBP, .505 SLG, .860 OPS
      And Ramirez has had much less protection in the Cleveland lineup. Josh Naylor is the 2nd best hitter on the team this season. Last season it was basically no one. Same thing with the season before that...

    • @michaelwankewycz6209
      @michaelwankewycz6209 ปีที่แล้ว

      Add in Jose Ramirez led the league in intentional walks last season (not Judge, not Trout, not Ohtani) leads again this year, and it begins to shed light on how Ramirez is in the prime of a 1st ballot Hall of Fame career. The last time Ramirez had a legit power hitter (other than strike out king Franmil Reyes for 2/3 of a season) behind him was 5 years ago (Carlos Santana), Ramirez still drew 15 intentional walks, hit 39 doubles, 4 triples, 38 HR and stole 34 bases in 40 attempts. He also walked 106 times while striking out 80 times... and he only grounded into 2 double plays all season.
      The season before that (with an aging but still productive Encarnacion behind him), Ramirez had 56 doubles, 6 triples, and 29 HR and a .318 BA.
      The only time he seems to get noticed is at the end of the season when people start looking at stats. That's why he's finished 2, 3, 3, 4, and 6 in the MVP voting 5 of the past 6 years. The only year he didn't get MVP votes, Ramirez only played 129 games, and he still finished with 33 doubles, 3 triples, 23 HR and 24 stolen bases and was only caught stealing 4 times. That was his bad year.
      Yeah, he'll probably be picked by the manager to get in the Allstar game this season, but it shouldn't be like that...

    Bro!, you must be a Braves hater😂 Arcia deserves this more than some of the guys that your thinkin should, no other short should at this moment in time, and as far as your comment on Michael Harris, bro I would have given you that one at the start, but the man was hitting close to a .150 and now almost at .250 with the potential to heat up even more. He’s been on an absolute rampage so for you to say he’s not been good at all shows your lack of knowledge or your true hatred for one of the top 3 best team in baseball. You’ve literally had one positive comment of a Braves player and that even then was shaky with the Sean Murphy trade

    They are down to 7.5 million viewers for the game compared to 22.5 back in 1993. If you eliminate fan-voting, you might as well scrap the game completely since the only people still watching are people who actually care about voting and do.

  • @davidmacgown321
    @davidmacgown321 ปีที่แล้ว

    OMG yes! Fan voting is the reason there are so many snubs. Either they don't have a clue (HR's, BA, and RBI's are what they look at to determine who to vote for) or they just check the box of every position player that plays for their favorite team and of their team is in 1st place you'll have 6 starting players from their favorite team voted in to start the all star game! Makes me want to rip my hair out how stupid fans are and ruins the experience for knowledgeable fans (you know, the ones who know what wRC+, SIERA, and WAR is.) Who want to see the best of the best play.

      Sure that's great in theory, but when for example, the entire country of Canada abuses the system to vote in a ridiculous and unreasonable amount of Blue Jays over other, much more qualified players, the system is clearly heavily flawed and needs to be revised somehow.
      Allowing fans to have free reigh in an easily abusable online voting system is not good for anyone.
