I mean, getting voted out third is a great way to prevent people from thinking you'll win.
The fact that Colton was probably the only real threat to Kim in OW is hilarious and sad at the same time
*laughs* Oh wait, you're serious? Let me laugh even harder. *LAUGHS HARDER*
@@lmd499without him the men didn't have a brain cell to share between them lol
Gotta start making the Winner's Stance work for me. The door swings open at a job interview and you know how I'll be standing

I love Luke’s subtle sigh when he has to mention anything having to do with Island of the Idols
Especially with the way he says Tommy’s name lol, it’s very clear Luke doesn’t like him.
In a way you can say this is the most obvious list that’s ever been done on this channel
Lol I called Kim's win just from the TV guide preview
On the flipside of that, I took a look at the Heroes vs Villains cast and IMMEDIATELY called Sugar and Randy as the first out from their tribes. They were fun(ish) in Gabon, but good Lord they were out of their league with the HvV cast.
@@scdwolfboy : The wild thing is even if they had swapped tribes I think Sugar and Randy would have still been the first boots.
How about the Most Obvious First Boot edits?
Great idea. I'm doing least obvious winners next, if this does decently I'll definitely do that as well!
YES i love this idea, could even do most surprising first boots as a followup too
“Human golden retriever Eddy is a total joke…but a very good boy!”
I’m dead. 😂😂😂
Honorable mentions:
Mike Holloway - "the winner of this season is on this mat" and then cuts to him, being of the few somewhat likeable players.
Earl - it was pretty clear it was him or Yau-man winning.
Dee(at least from the new era)- the scene where she talked about her long big toes just screamed "secret scene" yet it wasnt, made a few blunders that she somehow got away with(voting Sifu instead of Sean, telling Julie she AND Austin are her number 1's)
@@aperson22222 Yes he's likeable. Espcially compared to his cast.
I love his increasing frustration with each segment
I actually convinced myself Matt was going to comeback from Redemption Island, win the final two immunity challenges and then win it at FTC going into the season 22 finale. I thought Rob's edit was so obvious it had to be a misdirection for a person who got voted off twice winning.
Boston Rob literally had a season made for him to finally win. He's absolutely number one I'm not sorry.
Also I'm gonna take a stab and say I have a feeling I know who the least edited winner is lol.
It wasn't made for him to win, he was just put into a really good position he took advantage of. Fun fact, season 22 was supposed to be Hatch vs Russel but Richard couldn't leave the country and they realized they had something from HvV so Rob was picked instead. I enjoy the season personally but the captain seasons almost never worked out because the returning players knew how to gain control.
Well, as a person currently getting screened for ASD who cannot read body language for the life of me, in complete seriousness, thank you for telling me that Kim's press stance gives off god-level confidence, this is something I've been trying to decipher my whole life and that feels like a really big clue.
@@BulyssesBwachowski who are you and why should I care what you think?
The way Tommy is still my only pre-season winner pick that I got right and when I finished watching episode 1, I was at peace... I knew I had made the right choice. Specially when he completely disappeared in the merge episode, that only solidified for me he was winning. A good 7 episodes before the annoucement of the winner.
Video idea! Toughest seasons of survivor, based on weather, bugs, food/supplies given to tribes, and other natural events that occur
I feel like he’s done that already. It would have been a long time ago.
@@thebumpercar1344 Yes, that would be fun, in a dark kind of way.
I think I’d say, in no particular order, Colton, Philip, Abi, Kass, and Candace. Based on the fact that each played twice and did not seem able to get along any better with the second cast than they had with the first.
@@aperson22222 : I think Sugar would also be in there. And then of course there's Voldemort from Australia and Philippines.
Kaoh Rong for the hot weather - Caleb’s medical evacuation was terrifying. Millennials vs Gen X were evacuated due to a literal cyclone. Australian outback was the longest in terms of days played. Thailand because everyone had to be around Brian for that long 🤮
I would love a video on most deceptive non-winner edits where it seems like they’re being set up for the win, and even go deep, but ultimately don’t win (e.g. Boston Rob in All Stars, Russell in Samoa, Coach in South Pacific, Jesse in 43, etc). Maybe you’ve already made this, but if not, it could be a good topic!
Marcus in Gabon. I love reading the Edgic thread scrambling once he got booted.
What about JT Thomas in Survivor Tocantins? Beloved by fans and fellow contestants alike in Tocantins, J.T. commanded very strong loyalties, even to the point that some players explicitly stated that helping J.T. win the game was as important as, or more important than, winning the game themselves. His force of personality helped him become the first castaway to play a "perfect game". Now that is something that should've made the Top 5.
There was a lot more doubt with JT, though. Namely that Stephen’s edit was just as good, if not better
I think my favorite running gag on Survivor TH-camr has to be the way you just keep escalating your pure disdain for V****r to the point where other creepy past contestants are getting mentioned. Keep doing your damn thing, it's great :)
I think Cook Islands deserves a honorable mention. While technically not an obvious “winner edit”, maybe the most obvious final 2 edit of all time. Ozzy was the biggest hero ever, while Yule found an immunity idol with one hint😭.
Second comment of demanding the best and worst jeff predictions on cast assessments
The worst is definitely Cagayan where Jeff said Spencer has ZERO chance of winning and Tony probably doesn't win
Spencer makes it to the top four with very high win equity and Tony wins and goes on to become a two time winner
Best is without question his comments about Russell Hantz in Samoa.
Probst nails exactly why Russell is going to lose before the game even starts and it amazes me what a 180 he pulled even though he was right.
When Kim said I am a wedding cordinator. I was like she won.
Most unexpected final bosses
Example being Brett in Samoa
Some examples: Darrah, Ashley U, Rick Devens, Allison, Wentworth, Tina, Colby, Erinn, Natalie B, and Yau-Man.
Tommy's winner edit was easily one of my least favorites. It was fine in the first couple episodes, but it became so blatantly positive that I was actively rooting against him for a majority of the season
I especially hated it because Tommy looks just like someone I hate in real life haha
Ok, hear me out; Least obvious boot episodes
so like episodes where the person voted out is unexpected
I remember doing a breakdown of all winners edits from Survivor 1-40 and found out that they have 23-27 confessionals of the average of all 40 seasons.
So I just had an idea for a video but I don't really know how it would work. The last few seasons we have had contestants describe themselves as being "Charlie Brown" with things not going their way. So what about a video ranking the top 5 or top 10 most "Charlie Brown" contestants based on how lucky (or unlucky I guess) they are
With Cagayan Spencer obviously being number one
good video idea but that would involve talking abt spencer positively :P
I've had this on my list since Jake broke the challenge at the end of 45. I think it would be a super fun idea. Who else would you include? Owen? Simon from AU Survivor?
@@IdoledOut Aside from the ones you mentioned (haven't watched AU Survivor but I'll take your word for it) and off the top of my head:
- Aubry in KR had two of her allies medevaced, one of them had an idol, and one of them was voted off the jury
- Denise had to go to every single tribal council in the season
- Mike from WA had to win every challenge or else he was a goner
- Stephenie in Palau (haven't watched the season but I'm aware of the Ulong tribe)
These are all maybes
Underrated pick would be Ethan in All-Stars, he does surprisingly well considering the winners and Rob C. were all doomed the minute the season starts.
me spitting out my water at 3:03 ... you bet right! LOL
To be fair, Cochrans obvious winner edit made for an all time great storyline
I think Tony's edit in winners at war should be an honorable mention. My stepdad watched 1 episode with me mid-season (not even the premiere or finale) and predicted that Tony would win and he's not even a regular Survivor watcher lol
Hilariously, I’m rewatching older seasons that I’ve forgotten everything about. I’m on the merge episode in One World and I had NO clue that Kim had such an obvious winner edit. It’s so clear now, and I won’t be able to unsee it as I finish the season out. I’m not a huge fan of the cast as a whole, but I thought I was more attuned than this😆
To be honest, Kim wasn't really obvious to me until episode five, when she came barreling out of the editing gates. For the first four episodes, I thought it was Sabrina.
I think this needs a part 2. My mind also went to Earl, Yul, and of course, Rich who said he was the winner in his first confessional lol
Saying you’re going to win doesn’t make it so. Russell proved that, Penner and Dom confirmed it.
Okay I need that least obvious video now ty
I know he's not on the list, but I remember when Fiji came out, people joked and made memes about how obvious Earl's win was. In the premiere, he literally yelled from the top of a mountain "I'M THE KING OF FIJI!!", and there were seemingly constant shots of him at the top of hills/mountains/etc every episode where he overlooked everything to where people made compilations of them, lol.
Can't believe Mike Holloway didn't make this list
I feel like Tyson/Mike H/Jeremy deserves honorable mentions(ok maybe not Jeremy cause I can see why someone would fall for Spencer's edit in Cambodia or even think Wentworth would win) I feel like Tommy should be #1 simply because at time I and some people deadass thought Karishma won and the edit was fucking with us on purpose because we thought it couldn't have been that obvious Tommy won
Tyson was my number 6! Dead giveaway when his humor was toned down and much less biting than his prior two appearances.
Fun Fact: The player who is shown on the top center of the season’s poster is always the one who wins.
The only exceptions are PI, AS, IOTI and WAW.
Did some of the music get cut out of the video? Great video regardless!
This list needed to be a top 10 because, while it's hard to argue any of your choices, a list of most obvious winners that doesn't include Tom Westman, Yul, Earl, Todd, and JT doesn't seem complete. And that's forgetting Tyson as well.
I was only like 16 at the time but I recall thinking that Amanda was going to win China. Makes me want to rewatch that season again actually as it has been quite some time since I have seen it.
I would disagree with those picks. They all were favourites, but at least you can point to some realistic dark horses in each season:
Tom had Ian and Gregg
Yul had Ozzy
Earl had Yau-Man
Todd had Amanda and even Peih-Gee to a lesser extent
JT had Stephen until the final 30 minutes of the season
Who in One World could you look at and say "Man, Kim needs to sleep with one eye open".
@johndebono1870 that's true of everyone except Kim and Rob who are obvious #1 and #2. Tommy had Lauren and Jan, Cochran had Dawn who many people thought was going to win at FTC and Sarah had Brad and Cirie
@@kk_33 I would challenge you to rewatch those seasons if you thought any of them had a chance to win(Especially Dawn).
@johndebono1870 I've watched every season multiple times. Outside of Ozzy, all the players we both listed had very little winner's equity from an editing perspective compared to the eventual winner. Players like Stephen, Jan, Yau Man, and Cirie all had positive edits from a fan favorite perspective but paled in winner equity compared to JT, Tommy, Earl, and Sarah. Let's use Stephen as an example. He may have plenty of fans rooting for him to win over JT, but no one in their right mind who follows Survivor edits would actually have considered him a real threat to JT's win when the edit was bending over backwards to portray JT is the most positive light possible, including having players literally confess they were playing for JT to win.
And I was very involved in the online community during Caramoan and the Dawn vs Cochran debate was very prevalent throughout the end game. It's easy to look back in hindsight and see that Cochran was the favorite due to how the annoyed the jury was with Dawn's crying, but watching live, it was not nearly as evident. I don't disagree that Cochran's win is obvious, but my point is that all the winners I mentioned were incredibly obvious based on the shows edit.
I feel called out by the Lief winner edit comment...as a new Survivor fan at the time I was somehow convinced that he would be the winner pre season. Have I gotten any better at winner picks?
No...
Well you have another to add. Kenzie was the opening shot, we always followed Yanu, in which she was just a bully, and at the end we always follow her even though she didn’t make a single strategic move after the merge. She didn’t even deserve the money
Cochran was also never shown in the Brandon Hantz situation in Caramoan. They took him out of the picture for the negative story of Brandon
Rob, Kim and Cochran were the most obvious picks for me.
Dee from 45 was pretty obvious it was either going to be her or Jake but I thought it was clear that Dee would win
I am generally very bad at clocking winner's edits or making winner's picks, but I picked Tommy out as the winner like 10 minutes into IOI.
okay now that i have an idea of what winner’s edits actually are.. i think charlie might be getting it this season (season 46)
I know we're still a few seasons out from it, but: if they make 48 a new era all stars season, pulling all stars exclusively from non-winners from 41-47, who would y'all wanna see?
Topic idea: top “it was their game to lose” and they lost.
Video Idea : Survivor contestants as 7 deadly sins
omg im shocked jt didn't make it in! that edit was so obvious to me in tocantins hahaha
Rob and Cochran though....wow. When I rewatched years after... holy crap , did they set those up... That should have been absolutely obvious appeared which I believe it was. And KIM....UGHHH.
What is the most ridiculous use of Hero music in Survivor history, my money (no pun intended) is on JD giving his tragic backstory of wearing braces
Cochran and excuse the spelling was the first time where I clearly felt I knew the winner based on the edit really early
Rob was all but carried across the winners line by the powers that be.
My girlfriend tells me that Tommy had an absolutely incredible game, and was a very dominant winner.
I don't entirely believe her, but if that's true, I feel really bad for the guy.
Imagine winning *Survivor* and that accomplishment is completely overshadowed because your season had Dan Spilo.
I feel like Tommy's win gets overlooked a lot because of that, yeah. I don't know if I would say he was a very DOMINANT winner, but he was definitely a winner that impressed me. He played an incredible social game, considering he won in the "big moves" era without winning a challenge, without making fire, without having 900 advantages thrown his way, he (I think) always knew what was going down each round... Does it make for entertaining, flashy television (Hi Dean)? No. Is it good gameplay? Absolutely.
Yknow with previously on survivor I think it could be kinda fun if they did something similar to the challenge where the cast does a different bit each episode for the previously on the challnge
Although I do prefer just showing what happened like they did in survivor 45 instead of having Jeff narrate
If Russell had won without any change to the edit, you’d say his win was sooooooo obvious too. It’s called confirmation bias.
Exactly! I feel like you could say that about a handful of people.
I'm shocked Earl is not on here as his edit is not far off of Kim's edit. The edit literally calls him the King of Fiji. For me, his win is the second most obvious in Survivor history only outshown by Kim.
If we expand this to international survivor, one season of South African survivor had a winner that was sooooo dominating, I’m thinking “no way this guy wins right? Must be a decoy like Rick Devons or Russel Hantz. No way it’s this obvious”
Just clicked on the video and already imagine number 1 being redemption island lol
Maryann's win was the most obvious for me. I clocked it in episode 1 and not once did the edit ever make me waver off her
You know what I noticed... three of these seasons featured one person in common: Andrea. Is she like a harbinger of these edits?
I agree with this list but I'd give Ben an honourable mention. Obvious idol plants plus a heavy portrayal as the poor underdog who everyone wants to get rid of.
My top 10:
Kim
Cochran
Boston Rob
Sarah
Tyson
Natalie A.
Jeremy
Michelle
Adam
Tommy
So any time Andrea shows up you can pretty much check out.
I’ve yet to watch the full video, but if Tommy isn’t on here…
The usual Background Music is absent?
I lowered the volume on it. It's still present, but much less noticable
And now Australian Survivor season 11 has Val
Let me place my guess now: Vecepia will be in the least obvious edit video next week
Ooh yeah Cochran is Jeff's Pool boy!!! Hahahaha!!!!
Now we need most obvious winner edits who didn’t win
Marcus will probably be number 1. I think they edited him that way bc even the editors knew that if they didn’t have that twist at the final 10 and instead just merged like most normal seasons, Marcus would’ve steamrolled to the end and won dominantly
@TransparentEclipse The other Onions were even cliquishly behind him and would have _let_ him win.
That got super negative while talking about s26
3:08 I did not. 😳
I cant wait to see chris at number 1!
you gonna credit brice with that issa look on kim or what?
Tommy should be #1 but that’s my only nitpick
Tommy’s had a really good reason of course
now make a most unexpected winners version! we all know gabler would be #1 lolll
I'd have Natalie White on that list too. At least they kept shoving Aligabler hiding in plain sight confessionals lol
Queen Kim!
Kenzie will be joining this list in May, 2024.
To me it’s got to be Todd, he dominated his season
no background music?
Seriously?? No Earl's ''poker face'' and ''Earl's Island''??? My frigging cat at the time pegged him as the winner after episode 1 and he ate his own vomit.
Poor Andrea, always a good player but plays against titans
Come see my band “Kim & The Women” this friday
Like #1000!!!!!!!
earl had a pretty obvious one too
Rob and Tony have to be 1 and 2
Priya had the most obvious winner edit. Change my mind
I thought it was pretty obvious Hatch was winning Borneo too
I’m still relatively new to survivor so why does Kim’s pose mean she’s gonna win? Is this a trend?
No. It was just when the cast was released at the time of One World most people called Kim winning. They also did promos back then for specific players and Kim was one of the few players that got one. The other players that did were Leif, Alicia, Colton, and the. Tarzan and Toryzan shared one. Kim was also called an all around threat in hers and was built up quite a bit. Then the show started airing and it became blatant that Kim was the winner.
Dawn always looked like a women William Defoe to me
I feel like it would be totally possible to just rank premiere episodes edgically on a scale of 1-Tommy. Since holy cow, it is so cookiecutter winner edit it's not even ironically funny
Eh. Hindsight. Make one halfway through season 46 with your claim regarding who the winner is based on the edit. This is how you prove a winner’s edit.
Kim benefited from the worst and most stupid cast in Survivor history. Why she's treated like such a great winner in that context, I will never understand. I live in the real world where Natalie Anderson played the game people give Kim unearned credit for.
Imma be real, I think Tony from WAW was the most obvious for me.
Moral of the story: if Andrea's on Survivor, expect an underwhelming season with a really obvious winner edit
i like andrea as a character but it's insane how she's never been on a good season lol
she's the anti danielle
@@uglyaniimalsanti james and amanda
It’s not a “good” season but I think Redemption Island is so funny it’s still one of my favorites
