People forget they invented this kind of jazzy reggae, the musicianship in steel pulse music isnt just skankin on off beats theres alot of reaaaallly clever forward thinking things in every song... Same with Third World.
I enjoy every Steel Pulse Concert and I play their music almost everyday. I love their militant early days sounds but you can't help line up changes and remaking of the songs. They are always great all the same.
Good 2 see STEEL PLUSE again @ the California Roots - 2018- RASTAFARI REGGAE show with a great message & time. 1LOVE - JAH LOVE - PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL *****¤♡☆¤♡☆¤♡☆*****

I love this group!one of the few that grows and updates.great sounds, wish i had know about this.i've never attended a concert but i can see myself at one with this group
As a reggae musician I play steel Pulse on my car ,this music has a lot of keyboards in it,very hard to duplicate studio music live, but in this concert they change some musicians and the mix was horrible, anyway I still like STEEL PULSE ,Hinds still sounds good RESPECT
best live reggae act ever ive seen them uncomfortable times Gooseneck and Selwyn D Brown i no from the early 80s Steel Pulse run ting gwannn I Little Irish say so
Great band, can't attribute the band for the bad work of the sound tech. being listening to Steel Pulse since I was a child. but forgot the best song of all "ROLLER SKATES"!!!!
their reggae has been transformed into something too modern. A little too fast. But maybe I'm too old. But the lyrics are always legendary.Militant band. A LUTA CONTINUA
@TheXaimaca. I understand where you're coming from Bruddah. However, remember that when Reggae started to develop in JA in the 1960's... It was partly because the Jamaican Bands who were doing Ska & Rock Steady started increasingly listening to & being influenced by Gospel, Blues, Soul, and R&B music. I believe what you're hearing in this performance is the keyboardists & other guys using gospel & jazz chords in the transitions between chunes & then also throwing in subtle licks & influences from numerous other music styles. (Yuh see deh audience, right? So dem haffi broaden deh appeal). Deh essence of the music is still there. -Roots Reggae- Jah Bless Bruddah...
Thanks for the zealous reply, I share the substance, technically, but I am for zero polemics, zero provocations, I just meant that, as an elderly person, I do not always share the musical evolution of historical bands such as '' Steel Pulse ''. Do not appreciate does not mean to not accept or understand. I could throw myself into philosophical lucubrations about relationship or symbiosis between '' RootsRastaReggae '' and '' Lyrics '', and between '' Music Research and Social Commitment and Traditions '' but you are quite learned and you will understand me the same. RRRESPECT
Man I hope the old lead guitarist comes back, this new guy doesn't serve the music, he serves him self. It's evident on how he sets up his sound, and how he chopped his solos. This guy should really study tapes to see how the last guy laid it down.
What's the guatarist's name all the way to the right? (red shirt white glasses) i keep trying to look him up and find out where he came from but can't seem to find anything

I agree with you brotha Frank , One must be WISE not FOOLISH when you doing concerts in Babylon. Steel Pulse has done very well in this time and I would not KNOCK DEM for this as they STANDING thought the test of times. SELAH

the man who introduce the band said from UK but the lead singer said all the way from jamaica im confused ryt now but i enjoy the music
Sbusiso Mcineka maybe it’s because the leader David Hinds is an English.
They may be from Jamaica (originally) but the band was formed in UK as they were living there.
He was talking about the drummer being all the way from Jamaica
prefer it when they have women in the band too! A better vibe! still awesome!!!

great band. Weakest start to a show I have ever seen!
As a Bassist, the Most Frustrating thing is the MUFFLED BASS,DAMMITT!!(TANKS Anyway)!!
As a lover of Reggae Music I hate it. you can barely hear the bass.
try playing it trough monitors it should help the mix was low
@MaliVinnyB. It-is-what-it-is. Guys gave a great performance, but this was not an excellent FOH mix.
Where's the bass?
