I watched the first 151 episodes and after the Benizakura arc, I played Bakuchi Dancer on repeat for sooo many days while preparing some snacks and doing my homework! Doing the same thing again for the first time in about 7 years sends me back to those days... Going to prepare some hot chocolate rn :D
For people who is asking about why gintoki and katsura is losing in the first fight against nizou, it’s because they are inactive for 15 years, the fight against nizou makes them started to remember the technique and experience of fighting so they could easily jump nizou after the first fight.
The best thing gintama is good at is choreographing fight scenes and using angles that make the fight look much more interesting such as: - 0:50 - 1:35 - 2:17
Absolutely. People always fail to notice what exactly makes the fights good in Gintama. To be fair, the fights in the manga are often unclear with Gintama and the credit definitely goes to Sunrise, BNP for doing such a great job.

IMO though I loved even the earliest chapters/episodes because it was recommended to me without spoiling. She told me: Just watch it. And I did so I kinda understand why some people don't like all episodes because they kept watching the best and crazy ones on yt, so when they go watch the chill episodes, they all kept saying how boring it is and stuff. So... I think it is a basic rule in anime and manga to not spoil it for yourself...? Try to watch it without reading the synopsis perhaps you can appreciate it better. I feel really bitter how some kept trying to put it down. Both manga and anime are masterpieces in their own areas. Hail Sorachi and Sunrise. And Audio High for choosing such good songs.

A few days ago I finish this movie and I gotta say as the first impression for a serious arc I was not disappointed. It wasn’t too mind blowing or any thing but it was still an incredible watch from beginning to end and this song was the highlight of this movie for me.
I first started watching this anime just to kill some time. And so I only expect to see comedic episodes all throughout the series, but I was shocked when I saw the first episode of the benizakura arc. Like, it was serious all throughout. Then I got so hyped because of the cool fighting scenes and that is also where I got finally hooked into this anime. I realized that the show has a lot more to offer and I ended up getting really curious about gintoki's past and how takasugi ended up like that. The benizakura arc is so memorable to me as it was the reason why I decided to take gintama seriously and not to drop it.
This really makes you realize that katsura's not serious about overthrowing the bakugou, that he's just using it as an excuse to have fun with his life

+Kuchiki Rukia Of course, fate has way better animation but what makes Gin vs tak so special is the emotion and story behind it. Berserk sadly doesn't really have good fights because there isn't a good adaptation :/
The only fighting scenes which have truly captivated me are the ones from Fate/Zero and Unlimited Blade Works, the final fight from Katekyo Hitman Reborn, some of the fights in Hunter x Hunter (1999) and almost every fight scene in Gintama.
Alot of people are missing out on this hybrid anime just because at the cover it looks generic but its actually a really out of the box anime I fckn love it. I used to think itll suck ass when i started watching it but when I get to dumb comedy that gives zero fucks about 4th wall and copyrights I got hooked and then the lore and action came in, then I fell inlove.
