I was there that same day, and was thinking, damn this would have been amazing if someone filmed this. I watched initially purely out of curiosity, but stayed for the captions and visual aids. Great video Side story: I came back from Mountain High around 6 pm, and that shit was nuts. My car was covered in snow for the 45 mins I skied. *i had work at 8, was late af lol* , but not only that the freeway was still covered in snow and some place off the 15 where i got to take my chains off there was a car just chillin on the side of the hill Here’s my visual representation, for reference, of the dude who had driven his car off a cliff from the above 15 north freeway: 🌚 🗻🛣🗻 🗻 The dude 🗻 🚗 Me⤵️ Who crashed⤴️🗻🗻🚙🛣🗻🗻
Amazing, first days after the storm are the best for snow views, Mtn. High It's incredible we just looked it by the drone and its just awesome, we're ready for next week 🏂
On this trip it was optional and we install it cause the icy hill on minute 4:57 and 32:45 we highly recommend to install chains at the first sign of icy road or if you feel unsafe, but if there's a snow check point you've no option
@@CaliforniaPlaces And when driving uphill on a steep angle, is it okay to keep your ac/heater and demist on and have your phone plugged in? Or would that be overwhelming for your battery and engine?
Yes you can keep your AC on all the time the uphill isn't hard except for those 2 points. We choose that route (Lone pine canyon rd) cause views are amazing but you can perfectly drive by the 138 and 2 highway
So cool….portable video cameras and TH-cam is the best thing since air conditioning
I grew in Wrightwood .... It's my home town.
youtube is gathering my personal information and recommending me videos of wrightwood (where half my family lives)
Sorry, my english ist basic. The Chains must be installed only on the tires that have traction or must be installed on all tires??
Hi....yes it's correct.. only on the tires with traction ... enjoy the snow!

How many miles did you need to drive with chains on?
Based on this video was around 15 miles from the installation point to Wrightwood/Big pines CA but usually is less...around 7 Miles
Is it sketchy to go to wrightwood without 4x4 next week on Wednesday? I see its supposed to snow Monday and Tuesday and I don't have 4x4 or AWD.
Just carry your chains ⛓️ we saw 4x4 stuck very often so chains is the solution for all cars or trucks, icy roads are the worst part all the time.
Was this video from 3 days ago or posted 3 days ago? Was planning on checking out wrightwood
Posted 3 days ago, footage is from past storm
Were chains required on your tires?
