Yea man, I know you didn't. I was just making a point - we are two very different points of view. Cheers to London from Sofia - Bulgaria, hope to be there again sometime soon! (DJ HYPE IN FABRIC WAS PURE EFFIN INSANITY!!!!!!!)
I rate most of the stuff he's done. Don't get me wrong, I listen to Madvillain nearly every day because of Madlib's god-like production skills. I love the YNQ stuff he's done, and even a couple of the Beat Konducta volumes. All I'm saying is that as a live performer, he got it wrong that night. Saying "what have you produced lately" is like telling me I can't criticise someone for bad parenting even when I don't have kids. Come on man - everyone develops their own shit-filters!
@blakphantom Yea man that makes sense, I know cause back home (I'm back home by the way, business) when The Toasters (ska band) came they got held for quite a while at the Serbian border - we waited maybe five hours. Everyone suddenly got live though when they started - I really do not know so don't hold the comment against me..........
between 1:50 and 3:00 I reckon he stresses "turn it up" in remembrance of Dilla I think, cus Dilla always used to insist "Turn it up!!" over some of his beats. I could be wrong of course but yo RIP DILLA & keep on Madlib
I wouldn't say we're exactly spoiled. Over here it's just a custom to be really antisocial. Like, it's almost weird to be overly "enjoying yourself" at a concert. First noticed this at a DOOM concert when, while the audience was being loud, a lot of people were just standing still, the audience didn't really move. If I was there, I'd also be fucked off with how the DJ kept cutting the beat every 2 seconds. Still, always feel bad at concerts because NOBODY ELSE BOTHERS to make noise in London.
.... I know he got upset but... who knows. In my humble opinion London is kinda spoiled, you don't appreciate stuff people. Back in Bulgaria when a proper artist comes along there's like a hundred people TOPS there, they make twice as much noise though. Every artist that comes there is happy to be there.
He calls himself ".....a DJ first.....", so my basic expectation would have been for him to drop a load of tracks he produced, in quick succession. At one point he played some high pitched screaming, and people had to cover their ears because it was a pretty deafening noise. To me, that's not a DJ. In fact, I'm pretty sure J Rocc was lining up all the tracks for him, so really he just did some stoned mumbling and dancing on the spot.
I think people were expecting more seeing as they fucked up and had to postpone the event. DIsappointing night in general. Without J Rocc there to keep the crowd moving, it would have been a total shambles. Madlib was rubbish, and did nothing remotely interesting or remarkable.
And what's more, Madlib kept "dropping" J Dilla. Not Jaylib, just straight J Dilla. Whilst I love alot of Dilla, I went to see Madlib. And Beatkonducta is average at best. I don't doubt the man's skills, but the electronic sounding shit is (I assume) not what people wanted to hear. He could at least have performed MHBs, or Return of The Loop Digga, or something decent. Instead, he acted like he didn't even want to be there, and couldn't be bothered to entertain those who came to see him.
"you know how hard hes working to bring you new madvillain?" i tell you what its some task to shift DOOM off his couch lol :P
low blow
BASS IN THE ENTIRE FLOOR IN THIS PLACE! YES! YEEeeeesss!!! Can't wait to actually see HIM there.

Madlib went off on one of his ego trips again.Stones throw has to babysit this cat all the time.
That’s the exact opposite of ego, he’s literally giving props to his homie
