If Bayern & Dortmund are showing genuine interest in Maatsen, why would he agree to a swap deal involving a striker whose barely playing for a Villa team that won't make CL football next season. If Chelsea were to sell Cobham graduates, I'd prefer that they prioritise the biggest & best clubs in world football. I like what we did with Tomori, RLC & the move that Christensen made by himself. The talents at Cobham rn should look at players that didn't make it into the first team but be assured they can make it to a Barca, Milan, Dortmund, etc. These are clubs that they've seen in their lifetimes compete at the highest levels. My point is don't try to shove players like Maatsen & Gallagher to a PL midtable team that had flash in the pan season like Leicester did all those years ago.
Again, keeping Maatsen isn't an awful idea. Poch didn't like his size. But, Poch is gone. He's fast, can invert, is great with the ball at his feet, and is a PPA that can be sold for future. If we can keep him and sell Chilly (love him but he's not irreplaceable), while balancing FFP, I'd be thrilled.

If those players dont come good by 2025/26 season THEN you can say its all wasted.

The decision makers in CFC need to revisit their model. Broja was never really given a chance under Poch after his long injury. Uf he was given half the chance Jackson was given, i believe he would have scored more goals, because he is technically good, able to use both feet, aerially capable & would cost Chelsea nothing than wages.There is a beast in that kid & he has a passion for the club . I just hope CFC doesn't regret letting him go for cheap. The cases of Salah, Debruyne, Fikayo Tomori etc just comes to mind as they are lining up for a repeat of the same mistake.

FYI teams intentionally refuse to use or underutilize a loan player so as not to increase his sale value in the event they may want to buy him later. Teams do it very well. No team wants a player to come on Lian, do well, increase his sale value and get taken away from them at the end of the loan or have a huge price tag to pay for the player.
