I feel like opportunist might be a bigger damage increase over edgelord since you're already spamming backstep inbetween every attack for the atom splitter beam. The crits will make up for the lost lifesteal from edgelord, too. You just gotta make sure the first dodge is a perfect dodge and then you can just spam backstep attacks forever
Hm, I'll give it a go and see how it is. I still think atk speed might be better just because it helps with the dodge spam (faster attack speed means more attacks between boss attacks, and faster animation canceling). But yeah, the amount of lifesteal is probably similar considering crits 👍
I just made almost this exact build. A few differences: Frenzy Dust instead of stone skin cuz more damage. Not as tanky obviously. Frivolous band instead of burden of destroyer because evade speed is attack speed in this build. Im also perfect dodging and getting melee attack speed. Opportunist instead of edge lord. 100% crit thats easy to maintain cuz im always dodging. I also run sporebloom because the mod now gives haste. I honestly was just tired of every build running monolith/nebula. It works pretty well too. Haste boosts attack speed and evede speed so im double dipping here.
You get It inside dungeons in Nerud. There is a room that can spam that has a parkour puzzle to complete, after doing that you get the weapon! There a a few guides that show how to do It, I suggest watching them because the jumps are very difficult!

That sounds very cool indeed! I'm also bored of Monolith/Nebula builds, they all feel the same... At least we have the trap mod to replace nebula now!

Yes, you can definitely do it but you need to be more careful (and probably deals less damage)

Nope, the build is focused around dodging WAY too much for the staff XD
It actually works great with the staff and let's you fire off projectiles rapidly...
