The ration pack meals are meant to be sealed when cooked, you fold them down so they're fully submerge in the hot water. 5 - 10 minutes on boiling water, you'll have a hot meal ready to eat.
If you have space for the slightly bulkier unit, ditch the mat and get an underquilt dude. It’s a game changer for cold hammocking

Someone who lives in the US and loves world history but can’t travel much, seeing these historical landmarks is awesome. Also someone who served in the army and lived on mre’s during operation enduring freedom for months you couldn’t pay me to eat these any longer lol.

great video billy! really enjoyed the start and seeing what you got up to before camping - you would be a good vlogger. have you ever considered entering the roundabouts in a high-vis jacket so people think you are a highway worker, and then going stealth when you get set up?

He did get a bit of press coverage around Christmas time and I wonder if this brought some unwanted attention his way. Also not having to commit to a sponsor now he has the freedom to come and go on TH-cam. I am curious too as to his silence though.

Nice video but I feel pity for you about that meal.
One of my favourite camping meals is cordon bleu: a breaded piece of meat such as veal or porc filled with cheese and ham. I make a bunch of them and put in my freezer. That way, I can just bring one with me that defrosts in my backpack while hiking to the campsite. There, I fry it and eat it with a boiled vegetable and squeezed lemon. Very good!

I remember the old boxed British Army ration packs from when I was a cadet in the 80;s, good to know the quality of the food hasn't really improved! They were always minging. The biscuits brown, nuts and chocolate were always the best bits. The rest were generally foul and nearly always seemed to include a tin of low grade spam substitute! Not something you'd eat by choice.

I know where there is a large roundabout up North that would be good if you're ever up near Manchester. Always wanted to pitch there myself but haven't so far. Very large with substantial trees

Glad you are being honest about MOD ratpacks - and I agree - they are bloody awful - after suffering them for years whilst in the military I am glad I no longer need to reply upon them! I find it strange that some rave about MOD ratpacks, even fellow veterans!

Back in 2006, my lease to a room in Summer town Oxford , came to an end. I thought I could stealth camp ⛺️ ….. on the cadets shooting ranges roof, that adjoined the company I worked for. (National car rental, marston road, across the road from the mosque) I lasted one night….. and called it quits

l think His Quit youtube, l think he had the potential to build a successful youtube channel if he stuck with it, l thought he was the best UK stealth camper channel, maybe he quit because he got some nasty comments, but all youtubers get them, you cant take it personally
We ripped the piss out of him months ago about his dirty car. Comments wouldn't of made him leave, he has more stoicism than that. Maybe he's enjoying his life. He lived in a van before, now he has a girlfriend and a proper place to live.

Yeah.. the problem was getting that lovely gregg's sausage and bean slice (my fkin favourite by the way!), and then having those MREs.. haha.. especially compared to the lovely stuff you knock up on usual times.. No way you were going to enjoy any of that... You should have trekked longer and got more hungry first init :D
