Day 3 the cubes are hiding in a corner hiding from hagatha and her creation afraid of being drunk by a wicked creature that can split endlessly find allies drain life and continue to hunt endlessly
I'm more surprised that it only took a day for all the animations to play out for that many games, than the 90% winrate.

PLay it before complaining , in high legends sure its strong , but in rank 20ish , I can't have that win rate , I have 50/50 w it and other control decks mostly reckt this one.
It’s just the most obviously strong card and it’s fun too so it’s being played a lot. Other cards and decks will be discovered that are just as strong and it will level out. It’s just the most obvious ATM.

Yeah, day 2 stats is defenetly accurate representation of deck's power level.
Hagatha would be good if she wouldn't draw 50% random murloc spells. And if she wasn't hopelessly outclassed by Shudderwock + replaced by Primordial Drake.
Reddit is right, Blizz should make him the Warsong Commander treatment and make the Shudder a 9 mana 6/6 with "Your battlecry minions have +1 attack" to make it balanced /j

that would be just fine with me, but that would still be to op according to some players. the first nerf has to be make it a 10 mana minion so it would make it harder to play murmuring elemental en shudderwock in one turn. and the battlecry needs to be something like ''cast a random battlecry for each battlecry you play while this is in your hand'' than it would get much harder to get all the combos done.
The very reason this is even an infinite combo is because of that 6-mana 7/7 elemetal that bounces and makes your stuff cost 1 - remove that card and the combo's gone.
Shudderwock is completely analogous to Anyfin Can Happen, which wasn't nerfed ever, and is still my favorite deck.

They for sure not as good as Disguised Toast, but I just beat two shamans using that Shudderwock deck. I was running a simple poison rogue deck I was testing out (was at 9th straight win) until I fought against one where I had no poisonous cards to deal with the Taunt minions.
Simply put, I just had continuous minion kills and put them way too low HP before they could use Shudderwock. the second one, they used it, but they used it in panic since they were at 3 HP.
Wait toast, if you played Marin the fox in this, couldn't you just play enough shuddewocks to fill up your oppents board so they can't play minions?

i can see a semi fix to shudder is that if a cards animation lasts longer than 5 seconds instantly finish or cast all of remaining animation at once or just apply the stats of said effects. that way people wont cry over how long the cards taking and the people with shudder decks are still able to play it to full effect.

to fix this they just need to change murmuring from a battlecry to being passive. means you get 2 turns of this insane combo as highly likely, instead of it going onto the shudderwock
That would change nothing due to murmuring only being played to make sure you get a shudderwock back in your hand at 1 mana after playing it for 9. Plus you still can do 30/60 damage with 1/2 life drinkers in the battle cry pool without murmuring.
Saronite says it best when shudderwock gets played "how long will this go on?"
Shudderwock was in one of my first packs this expansion. It's a fun one. inb4 some part of it gets nerfed.
Honestly setting it at 10 mana would probably be fair. For what it does and how strong it can be, allowing 1 mana of play after it comes out is perhaps incorrect.

It is two days into the expansion, it's too early to say this is op. Almost certain Shudderwock's power will die out when aggro decks reach their best.
But it is two days into the expansion, and I'm sick of the 10 minute long animation.
JJ Harris that would be bad. This is the only reasonable Shaman deck in the whole game and that change would kill the class. Shaman suffered enough lately. The deck is tier 2 at best

I have only faced this deck twice and won both times but... I played this deck about 20 times and I say: This has to be nerfed
It is just ridiculous. 19-1 record and it wasn't even hard. Shudderwock HAS to be nerfed. It's just to easy and in the mirror it's all about getting the combo running first. Even for Hearthstone RNG standarts it's too much.
It's really not that strong anymore tbh. Meta is becoming too fast to get the combo off reliably, it's just another exodia mage situation where the super slow meta allowed for a combo deck like that to be feasible, but it's dying

the best nerf IMO is "activate every battlecry effect played once" so at max u get a 9 mana deal 3 heal 3 2 aoe 6/6 and get 1 on hand for 1 mana. and because of ropetime u can play it only once maybe twice every turn. That makes it way slower and keeps it interesting

In my opinion the biggest problem with Shudderwock is that it can be played multiple times by bouncing it back to your hand. I guess it would be balanced if Blizzard would keep the card the same but add "can only be played once a game". This way you can still pull off some cool combos and turn the game in your favor but it wouldn't be completely broken.

Easy fix = Murmuring Elemental Battlecry : Elemental battlecries trigger twice. Then you can't guarantee Shudderwock back in your hand and halves the dmg.
still Shudder has 50% chance to bounce back, the Battlecry is random so Saronite Chain Gang Battlecry can happen before Grumble.
Will rely more in RNG but still Shudder will be in ladder lmao
Or nerf grumble, 6 mana 7/7 that also has a good battlecry... what the fuck. Change the grumble battle cry to something less OP like "return all your cards to hand (that cost 5 or less)" or some shit like that. I don't know, just some variant so it doesn't work with shudderwock. Anyway the deck isn't THAT good, toast just played it really really well, plus first day of new expansion there are a lot of shitty decks going around. Just reduce the animation times and it'll be fine.

wowza at 15:53 the paladin had Lava Burst, witch's cauldron value almost won him the game.
We decided Jade druid kept actual late game from existing, so we made shudderwock to ensure late game can still never exist.
Odd paladin could run Bolvar Fireblood along with the mauls, highroll the divine shield every now and then.
Shudderwock: 9 mana 6/6, Battlecry: become a 9 mana 6/6 "give your battlecry minions +1 attack"
That one will be tough to balance.
First thing, maybe making it cost 10. It doesn't stop the combo but will force you to play one more card.
Maybe not allowing it do trigger the same battlecry twice (if it does it now)
Making it an end of the turn effect so that it can't be played with murmuring elemental (and would make you use zola instead of grumble, making it less reliable/less powerful cause you'd either risk it with murmuring or have a less efficient shudderwock by making a copy with saronite + zola)

A card that can kill people with only a Life Drinker battlecry not to mention it's near impossible to get rid of since it always goes back to ur hand as a 1 cost just to repeat the same battlecries twice more than the last, then add in the murmuring elemental which triggers with Shutterwock, so basically it's a Reno that damages ur opponent and doesn't ever end until your opponent gives up or somehow was lucky enough to mill/dirty rat (rotated) the Shutterwock before it ever touches the board. This card has close to no draw back for playing a deck completely focused around it.
Best way to fix this would be to change the battle cry on the chain gang from "this minion" to another chain gang with this same stats as this minion
Yo Toast, I think there's a bug with Festeroot Hulk where its effect "Whenever a friendly minion attacks, gain +1 Attack" also triggers when the Hero attacks. Which shouldn't happen because it says "friendly minion". Can you check it out?
Ok nvm, after a bit of experimenting, I think i understood the bug. Festeroot Hulk doesn't trigger when a hero attacks, it triggers on it's own attack.
1) make it a deathrattle
2)add a text "battlecry: your battlecry no longer trigger"
3)add a skip animation button
i dont understand the fireplume, wouldnt banker be way better to get more shudders? if you go to fatigue you would shuffle more shudders into deck (granted piper order would matter). also wouldnt the grumble take away your board from chain gang dupes?

Kripp seems to think this is a tier 2 deck, not sure it's quite that good. It gets bulled over by a lot of aggressive decks (and aggro tends to dominate meta wherever it can because players favor fast games), it can dump on control decks pretty hard though. Really, if they sped up the animations, it would probably be a decent deck that's just fun to play. Easy to play, nothing too overpowered, but certainly not weak.

I played about 15 matches on wild yesterday and only ran into 1 shutter-shaman which I was able to aggro burst down as taunt druid. So if you hate shudderwock, consider giving wild a try!

Honestly I think the best way to nerf Snuffledock is to just change the text on Grumble, Worldshaker to be "Send all your minions with a different name to this card back to your hand"
That would prevent extra copies of Bubblesnot going back to your hand when you play it, regardless of if it was copied by Chain Gang.
It never got fixed now shudderwock shaman is much scarier. But you can disrupt them

They are going to change saronite chain gang to say 'Battlecry: summon another saronite chain gang.' A simple change that wouldn't change saronite, but it would demolish this combo.

Saronite Chain Gang is not the problem. You see, in Wild you can still abuse Shudderwock since you have Doppelgangster, and trust me, the Wild combo is much more insane (Hysteria did a video about a charging Shudderwock OTK) You pretty much need to nerf Shudderwock, the other cards are not as oppressive. It's Jade druid / Raza priest all over again xD
